This is an Oceans & Seas collections idea similar to that of Raging Rivers
This idea was first pitched to me by @lone sandal as a larger collection idea for a "great lakes" subcollection
@graceful galleon made the icon for the collection

Here is a place where anyone who chooses can add their ideas of Lake cards so they can be viewed as an overall collection

heads up if you are doing any lake named "Lake Albert" or "Albert Lake", there are 9 different ones and 4 of them are in Australia alone

@lone sandal look you do you, but can I ask why each line of text is its own message? and not just keep it all in 1 message per idea?

ability names feel to long, I'm not ready to read "hippopotamus pernambuco" everytime I look at a card

#

I'll think up some ways to shorten them I guess hold please

#

they're all pretty on the nose huh t_doge

Erie: i kinda like it tbh, not sure why. still really long, drop the "(by volume)" probably
Huron: Kinda like it too, the "tongue-twister-ness" works for me
Michigan: change to "All American" or something, one of many that suffer chronic being too literal syndrome (cbtls)
Ontario: It's fine
Superior: gee you sure do like just putting facts huh t_doge do something with its name, "Freshwater Superior" would be fine.
Albert: name seems fine
Edward: mmm nah uhhhh just write "Royal Edward" or something
Kivu: "Three of a Kind". dats it.
Malawi: geez that's alotta text. Say "Fish Frenzy" or "Feelin' Fishy".
Mweru: just write "Arm of the Congo"
Rukwa: works well
Tanganyika: ...jsab reference plz :3 "Long Live the New Fresh(water)"
Turkana: it's called "The Jade Sea" as well, use that I guess
Victoria: "Tropic Giant" or something nothing good comes to mind
Kyoga: "In But You're Out". another song reference lol. love Katy Perry

note that these are all kind of nitpicks you don't really need to change them

That’s the whole point of how I do abilities names, I use them as a way to put the relavent fact that reflects the ability staying true to the info about whatever it is. I don’t typically use the ability name to make a reference that isn’t related to the actual ability

Your suggestions are pretty good ways to shorten some of them and I do love the song references. But others like with Erie, I added the (by volume) because that’s what it is. In size it’s not the smallest but in volume it is. Or for Mweru, “Arm of the Congo” doesn’t mean much when the River has many arms with multiple other bodies attached to it so I specify.

If you think some of these are bad, you should see some of the ability names for some of my Disasters cards

#

I do fully get where you are coming from though

My addition, finally able to get it working (I might crop the image to have the lake more centered?)

Thoughts?

1 bear is a +10 deckbuff, already really good for limcomm
2 bear is a +20 deckbuff, crazy good for a limcomm
3 bear is a +30 deck, insane for a limcomm, only thing that even comes close is geb for climate change
and anything 40+ is unbelievablly broken, even if it was a limleg or even a mythic

lone mason
#

That weird world limrare gives a +25 deck buff

^ I was planning on having a cap, didn't know where it should be or what rarity to give it

#

I think the "you played this game" condition would work well too

dapper fjord
#

cap it at 20 make it a limpic and call it a day, from what I judge from the other cards lakes has some good support as is

#

should I lower the amount of power it gives?

#

Or what if I inversed the effect so based on the lovely lakes played, your bear cards get power?

#

Just thinking ideas

dapper fjord
#

for lake buffs until played/other length there's:
+25 buff (for North american great lakes)
+19 (North American great lakes)
+18 (blah blah America north)
+35 (you know the drill)
+28 (for round actually)
+25 (non great lake lovely lakes)
+50 perma (great Lakes of north America)
upwards to a +27 in hand
+18 (African great lakes)
upwards to a +26 perma (african)
+19
+2 perma start card
+23 (African)
+11 easy to trigger buff
+13 hard ti trigger buff
+15 I'm hand and for african
upwards to a +30
+35 in hand
and a +9 perma for african

#

I think limpic is fine

up the base stats though

rapid furnace

Thats why I originally had it low, I didn't want it to have a good ability and good base stats

Revamped Great Lakes of North America (numbers 1-5 of the collection)

New photos, some ability name changes/adjustmetns, some ability reworks

#

Revamped African Great Lakes (+ Lake Kyoga - isn’t a Great Lake )

Collection numbering is a little messed up so just thorw them as the latest additions
