Hello everyone, i would like to propose an idea and i hope you all can give your support 💡

The idea is simple: events become the new testing grounds for new abilities.

Avidgames may ask
Does this mean we have to introduce new cards?

<<No,My suggestion is that just like you can assing effects in events to target specific cards we use this same mechanic to assign this new abilities to specific cards.

Players may ask

<<What cards? For the time being unless avidgame updates them, i propose we set this new ability to be tied to our cards in the game that have no effect.

Both may ask
HOW WILL THIS WORK?
<< i invision, once a month or even more often an event is released whose wording goes as follow.

Test Event-
[EVENT NAME]
Example: Groundhog Day

[EVENT RULES]
For this event, your card with no ability will have the following effect-xyz

[ABILITY NAME-ABILITY EFFECT]
Example: Rewind- card returns to your hand, you don't draw a(1) card

[DISCLAIMER]
This is a test trial event, do to the nature of the event, participation may cause issues for the participants.
If issues cannot be resolve event will be canceled and replaced by the following event.

This is my idea, i hope you guys enjoy the concept and support it

Thank you

Interesting to use the events as a testing ground but I don't understand how it would work in practice. Avid has to create new abilities (like rewind) to put them into the event. That is a massive amount of work writing the code so it definitely wouldn't happen once a month.

But my question is what is Avid supposed to do with the information from the event? If they have gone to the effort of creating a new ability, then they are going to use that ability for new cards. So maybe you could expand a bit on how the event can help them test the new ability.

I think is the feedback that matters here.
My hope is that they introduce abilities in there power to code.

Then the
Events will bring feedback on ability on what direction to take it forth.

This way it creates a safe environment were they can take risk without feeling pressure.

Players can feel like they can give direction towards new mechanics and additions.

I do wish to add that
If the community doesn't like the ability,

I doesn't mean delete the code, but use the feedback the community gives to adjust.

The idea came from this creator who uses the feedback on features he includes to adjust and derelict further growth in the indi game he developed

Ya when we talked about this my thinking was that Avid wasn’t willing to risk the integrity of the current game by introducing new card mechanics… but this gives a platform to test out a new mechanic and get player feedback before introducing cards with these specific mechanics…
