spectres are account bound. so why would there be?

it's more nuanced than that, essence drain and contagion themselves can not crit, but every every damage over time build I know is a crit build, essence drain is no exception, you absolutely need to maximize your crit damage to make it work because dark effigy can crit and it is your damage damage source for single target

same with incinerate, poison, bleed etc., you are supposed to scale crit, I am only not sure about incinerate

incinerate is weird, it rerolls crit per interval/stage.

essence drain cannot crit on the dot portion, but the intial hit can crit. granted it doesn't change the dot like bleed would.

21 is the highest a skill gem itself can go. You need to use a vaal orb on a skill gem to get +1 level. It's not guaranteed so don't worry about 21. Focus on getting them closer to 20.

40 is the highest skills can go with modifiers from tree/gear. Obviously the goal is to get to 40.

+phys and +lightning are the biggest ones, but getting +cold (or +fire) can only help.

the vertex can give an ~80% damage increase if you aren’t already using it

eldritch battery + mind over matter + archmage + rathpith will give a lot of damage and crit chance.
rathpith is cheap with gain cost equal to % of life left on and it isn’t a huge difference.
get a lot of crit damage on sapphires/time-lost sapphires.
ele weakness + doedre’s instead of spark lets you remove resistances

Using a +cold wand is significantly cheaper than a +all wand, and will boost your ele weakness/doedre's dmg as well

instead of atziris acuity use rare gloves with es, crit damage, socket effect.
crit chance on your wand would be good.
a +3 vertex with spirit is very cheap and get spirit on your amulet so you can use rathpith
the most important thing youre missing is the sapphires. timelost sapphires are very good with oracle in the right spots.
try to get crit damage and increased spell/ele/triggered damage
rathpith will be enough for crit chance
you are also wasting a lot of points on the tree on attributes (to the left of EB) but you probably need to change it to fit time lost sapphires

and add heart of the well with instant leech because you dont have atziris acuity anymore

replace ixchels torment with uhtreds augury or zenith. in EW replace efficiency with mag area or zenith

It's a problem cuz it annoys me. Can't move after blink, gotta wait on stagger by before I can change course, or continue sprinting.

And if mob hits you during stutter, you're still sprinting and get ko'd. So it's annoying and it's reason enough for me just not to use it. That and I can't afford it with spirit lmao

There is quite a bit of complaint on this same topic online and it comes down to a lot of unanswered questions from GGG and speculation.

1. the minion has to die, not expire. meaning they have to reach 0 life. infernal legion I may not meet this requirement.
2. The temporary minions don't seem to generate energy with CoMD.

Asc are pretty easy once you get used to honour. Players really just need to learn the mechanic and relics and it becomes a cake walk.

Witch is pretty easy leveling with edc. Sorc has a minion build (djinn) that is also super easy. Druid can do just about everything. Plants are super strong and thunderstorm is cakewalk in campaign.

Edc is shor for essence drain/contagion. It's a very solid start/mapping build for any caster. It falls off vs higher tier content and pinnacles but it'll get you to t15s pretty smoothly. Played on lich with some big es and it's a very tanky/solid build to start with.

Pathfinder is strong meta poison build right now. Monk can easily go through campaign. Hollow palm is strong starter without having to worry about upgrading weapons and you can easily transition in to flicker strike or whirling assault.

You can invest more currency into it, and it will perform fine, or you can respec into something easier to scale like bloodmage or minions.

There's too many variables to tell you specifics and not to mention the price of items in trade.

Best possible items would be things like an exceptional obliterator bow with 4sockets and insane t1 dps stats. A +4 proj amulets with double crit and double defenses. High-tier lineage gems are also needed like uhtred's augury, garukahn's resolve, maybe rakia's flow if using elemental dmg and not poison. Not to mention most end game builds go for a high % adorned jewel and the needed corrupted jewels on top of that.

Generally you scale dmg by picking something unique your build dual-scales with, like some scale with ehp as a source of dmg (archmage + MoM). But if you need raw dmg

It’s usually just crit, attack/cast speed, %damage and gain damage as ur buckets

Also damage pen and levels but they are scarcer on the tree

Those are ur generic dmg buckets

Fill em all equally and don’t oversaturate as a rule of thumb

But all real players just go 15 jewels, near 0 tree nodes and crit out the ass

You're a bit all over the place with gear.

Wand is lightning based. Of course you're going to miss comet (cold) dmg.

Ring is 7% mana instead of 8%

Rare jewel is for doedre's undoing

Soulcores are only 3%? Pretty sure they can go more with incursion?

Atziris is only 790.

Rathpith missing life roll and % soulcores?

Missing socket effect on gloves/boots

Prism is for spark, not comet.

if you end up going atziri u can get spirit vertex or a spirit atd but youd have to move points for atd angle

tldr your defences are just rly bad you should work on a good es ev Hybrid body amour like his and a pure es helmet this will be both defence and offence for you. your resistance spread is not good (you waste 35 on cold while having 0 or negative of others)

The biggest hurdle from campaign to maps/waystones is defense and resistances.

As a new player, focus on resistances first. You need to be as close to 75% of each one as you can get. You can skimp on chaos resistance a little since it's harder and less needed.

After that, focus on your defense of choice. Right now you are Evasion. Which is fine, but to get the most out of hollow palm, you'll need to transition to hybrid Evasion/Energy Shield.

Use augments and sockets to get what you need.

Lastly, it's a weird thing, but focus on your DPS also. It's weird to think of it like this, but the faster you kill, the less dmg you take and it helps with survivability as well. Work on upgrading your skill levels, work on quality for your skills, and more add more sockets to add more supports

I'm not sure how this build works exactly other than he holds block while the minions burn/explode around him. He's got Iron Ward which is why he buffs phys dmg, but it just feels like some weird choices.

Trying to help a friend, but hitting a wall. He’s a wolf Druid - based on comparing builds on poeninja, his dps seems quite good. But, he still has trouble doing pinnacles like arbiter in a group. Am I missing something? Or is this just where wolf tops out, damage wise?

Yesterday we kitted him out with a new talisman and robe, and today I’ve made him anew ring for his left hand, and got him a good Ingenuity, but on paper it LOOKS like he should already be mopping bosses up. No dice.

imo its just a mistake to run shaman instead of oracle. ur getting rage regen (which is just 100 spirit if u need it), small exposure (counters ur rakiatas flow), and bonded mods (lol). meanwhile ur crit will be 100% on oracle and you'll have a lot better passive efficiency

For sure - his issue is pinnacles. I can 6 man clear arbiter in seconds, but he can barely solo arbiter with 1.2mm dps. It’s just… weird? I wanted to help him get wolf to a place that can smoke pinnacles and despite having great gear he still struggles there.

He’s gonna swap to oracle and copy a good players tree, so hopefully that solves it, ninja numbers be damned.

problem of spark is probablly that it depends a lot on the map you are in

if its like a hallway map, many balls will hit a lot more often, but on open maps, spark don't hit that often, so it lowers it by a lot

after all it doesn't crit when u cast it, it crits when it hits an enemy

Also if im not mistaken, there is a cooldown between procs, thats where less cooldown recovery rate would play a part

(but like i said, im just saying it based on poe1, tho i think it might work really similar)

First and foremost - more crit. Need approx 70-80% to feel good, 100% is the goal obviously. Easier to do on bloodmage and oracle(special case.)

2nd - more damage! More damage is bigger energy gain. Increasing your base dmg is solid, but you can achieve the same goal with more crit dmg bonus.

3rd - resource! You need the resource to cast what's in the coc (be it life or mana). If you don't have it, it'll just poof and not cast.

Watch the buff on top of screen while in combat. It should fill rapidly like 2 or 3 casts when mobs are present. If it does. You have enough damage, just not enough resource. If it doesn't. Then you need more damage or more energy supports/passives.

It's also impossible to theory craft without patch notes. Ppl seem excited about the curse wand and grenade xbow. A few popular streamers seem to be going back to lightning arrow, but it's all subject to change

I just say 100% coc due to the buff. I don't really think of the actual numeral value of the energy needed.

It circumvents ICDs, it uses overflowed energy and it also lets you use the brokie variant of uhtreds better

and 2 comets is because generating more than 100% energy with one hit wont carry the extra energy over to cast again. two comets means it can cast two comets per hit if you can still instantly max it.

Alright - here’s where I’m at so far. Got Crit to proc much better WITH two fireballs. I’m Still chasing more damage - single target is still pretty cheeks. I’ll buy l 21 gems, and try to farm a better wand, but if yall see any other glaring opportunities, please let me know. Thanks for the assist getting me to this point. Also - I had a plus 4 all spells laying around - it appears a bit of a trade, if I’m sensing thing correctly - the FBs hit much harder, but appear to proc much less? I’m assuming because of mana cost? Still napping a bit to see where the sweet spot is.

It's the damage. Check the tool tip dmg and you'll see a huge difference. Also, ele weakness (doedres) scales off +ele skills where as you need +all to benefit both spark and comet.

Ah there we go. Yeah, deodres in Despair seems to work really nicely. I’m essentially playing a chaosifed “ele weakness/coc” build atm. It’s still no comet, but we’re getting to a place I can at least speed through t15s. Really curious where the top end is.

Doedres? Because it works pretty well with despair, and I wanted to try and make lich / chaos / purple power work. Switching to BM/life, to me, is the same as going comet instead of fireball; of course it’s better/easier. but are there some other ways to get there? I already did the mega meta build this season. This is just an alt to try stuff.

You're mana stacking with ring but not with amulet. And you're not running archmage.

Better amulet. Even a +2 with mana (and not es) would be better.

Your ele weakness is also only lvl 12.

Also not running mind over matter so you're probably very squishy.

I'd also move bloodletting to comet. Put living bomb on spellslinger.

Also remnant potency 2 and 3 are too slow. Use remnant potency 1

Personally, I'd drop the atziris for a spirit chest and big es. Alternatively you can get a helm with corrupted spirit, or swap to alpha's howl.

You also don't really need arctic armour.

You'll have to play around with it. Obviously make sure you have 20%+ qual on both of them.

You need to decide what you're producing coc with, spark or doedre's. It's not feasible to use both.

You also need to figure out if you're life tap and using mana as shield/archmage, or if you're using life efficiency for free lifetap. It's kind of all over the place.

i found a chest in my stash with spirit and spirit reservation but no resistance and with archmage my tooltip dmg jumped up from 45k to 85k

im pretty sure you do not need anywhere near that much, it probably goes up a ton in combat (i think mana remnants overflow mana will let rathpith boost you)

my recommendation is to spec out of critical exploit, and switch the notables near the start to just the stats so you save a few points.

then because you have from nothing eldritch, we dont need to come in from the top to grab it, we can instead start from the top right, grab dynamism, and grab eldritch from below
