i'm still salty that upon the original launch of the game, the first thing they ever nerfed was a melee skill called supercharged slam and then the whole team went on vacation for weeks
-# and they absolutely destroyed it; it was like a 90% nerf; you couldn't kill anything with it after the nerf

PoE2 was supposed to be the game that saved melee, but once a streamer showcased himself having fun bonking bosses with that skill, GGG freaked out and virtually deleted the skill immediately (didn't even wait for the league to end) 🙄

And then there was the whole "block only works if you're facing the mob" which made block virtually useless, which they reverted (but that was a dumb idea to have even had) but with end-game bosses being able to roll elemental modifiers, tanky builds couldn't be tanky against bosses because armour didn't work on elemental damage and there were no nodes on the tree to raise your HP pool

if they had let me playtest the game (instead of every journalist on the planet), i could have told them long in advance

by making combat more realistic (than poe1), it approaches IRL physics, aka the reality that a gun always beats a knife. having to swing an object to physically hit something to do damage will always be worse than shooting something at range, unless u make melee not actually melee (like sunder).

their design philosophies clash with the reality that the only vector to optimize in this game is clear speed

scrolling thru 100 channels for a certain service to then need to check if its poe1 or poe2 is confusing compared to 2 discords with 50 channels each that are for each game. most people probably either play one or the other at any given time

Yeah I definitely am, this is the first league where the loot feels plentiful enough that I could actually learn to craft properly without too much risk. How much of a difference would you guys say the jump from a 2 man temple to a 6 man temple is, drop wise? I went from 2 to 3 people, and the difference was negligible.

If you have a LOT of time in the next month (12+h per day), open/close temple a bunch of times to wipe and restart it. Find a fubgun guide or YouTube guide and rebuild.

If you're more casual, just focus on running architect, royal access chamber and atziri and ignore rest of temple mechs.

basically you run the whole trial of sekhemas, reach 4th floor and before entering the zarokh room you portal out to the ardura caravan, go back to the trial of sekhemas and open the trial again. tell everyone to join and to stay in that specific room while you go kill zarokh. as soon as you kill zarokh they can join the boss room and go to the altar

Yes. You have to wait until everyone joins the instance outside of trial before you reopen it.

Re-enter trial waypoint and invite bussy/carries.

Re-open trial when all parties are present. All ppl enter.

Guests stay by book. Carry opens portal and enters and kills zarohk.

Guests enter after defeat and interact with altar for all 8 pets. Typically payment is traded at this point if selling

To rehash the old topic with a few fun facts:

-Patches/updates/leagues have already been confirmed to be 4 months long, and are likely bot to shrink. 0.4 is already closer to 5 months. That being said. There are 5 more patches/leagues before 1.0, the official 'launch'. That equates to 20 more months, so at the bare minimum 1.5-2yrs before 1.0 even launches.

-it has more/less been confirmed that each class will have a weapon type associated with it. Ranger and bow, huntress and spear, monk and warstaff, etc. A new class means a new weapon (or vice versa), which means a new passive tree, new skill gems, new support gems. With this amount of work needed for a simple wep/class addition, I don't think it's even possible for 0.5 to have any of this. Druid alone took 2 whole leagues to refine and launch.

-0.5 has already been mostly confirmed as an endgame update. Changes to the atlas/map, atlas passive and likely how waystones/tablets and towers work. I doubt they change the procedural generation in anyway, and we will likely still be forced to run 'random' maps but you can expect them to remove a lot of the boring stuff, they'll change the extreme juicing like they did last time, and they will probably focus a lot of their attention on the atlas passive tree.

-data miners have found files and images related to 2 ascendancy classes - arcane archer for the Ranger and spirit/beast master for the huntress. We will likely see these with a handful of other ascendancies. Monk and Druid will either both get ascendancies this patch, or they will be pushed back as filler for another patch, likely 0.7.

-you can expect the usual balancing changes. Bloodmage will likely see some nerfs. I also predict comet or coc will see nerfs. Plants and storms will likely be tuned down a tad. I bet incinerate stacking gets removed as well.

I support the above opinions in that new classes aren't needed. Diversity is needed. More skill gems. More supports. I do agree the current skill sets are stagnant. There are a ton of skills in poe1 that are still needed to move over. I really hope we see more build-enabling items, more skill/spirit gems and more things to do rather than stack crit and coc comet/flicker strike everything.

I think Hota might be in this patch, which would be amazing, but likely the next core mechanic they'd introduce would be something from poe1. I could see them doing syndicate or even beastiary. I highly doubt we see anything "crafting bench" wise as they seem to be adamant about not doing that kind of crafting style in poe2.

After finishing my temple recently, I have noticed that the 'Juatalotli's Medallion' (prevents the next Destabilisation of a Room) drops have really dried up. It used to be that I would get many more than I even needed (2 per turn), and had many in reserve. Now, I can barely get 1-2, and have slowly dropped to zero in reserve for my current run. If I don't drop 2 this turn, my temple will start destabilizing. I always start a New Instance for each temple run, but that has also not been much help. It can't just be bad RNG over last 7 runs, where basically the Level 3 Spymasters have stopped dropping the Juatalotli's Medallion (1 drop in 4 runs is crazy) - and the few drops I had were from my various level 3 Alchemy Labs which came in clutch a few times. Does anyone have any tips on how to improve the drop rates for Juatalotli's Medallion back to how they were when I was building the temple. Also the Tier 3 Legion barracks used to drop some every now and then, and now for the last 6 runs at least, I have not had a single drop from those either. Thank you.

Once an hour or so, I get game pause for a few seconds, which then goes into grinding gears for 30 secs (the inventory can be opened and managed while the grinding gears are going on in the background). Yeah, it's picky, you have to go to Hotkeys, cancel out Ctrl-Alt, then change the other shortcuts like this, and next time in game, use the Ctrl-E shortcut on items. It works fine then.

@soft ingot I think you can get set up enough to run maps well pretty cheaply. Maybe I’m wrong. Can get up and running with spark or FB, COC, comet, Crit chance from tree, crit bonus from maligaros, a spell level wand or staff is cheap, spirit on a vile robe is cheap until you need mega ES. Pick blood mage and I think it gets even cheaper.

Mana was super op in 0.1 and got heavily nerfed 0.2. It hasn't really recovered which is why ppl went BM route. Life stacking was super op in 0.3 which is why they nerfed it and ppl went back to mana stacking as a defensive layer.

Honestly, I just feel stormweaver is kind of weak in general double chill seems very weak right now, nearly unuseable. Ele Storm looks cool but at the same time, the storm itself is kind of weak w/o critting. It often just gets outpaced by coc/coea.

Using a Bow (Ranger Deadeye - Have the Feathered Fletching node) - which of the two Augments is preferable:

1. Cholotl's Soul Core of War (Bows: 20% increased Projectile Speed)
2. Countess Seske's Rune of Archery (Bows: Bow Attacks fire an additional Arrow)
   The problem is that when using Countess augment (Bows: Bow Attacks fire an additional Arrow), the DPS indicator for skills does not show a change/impact.

If they dont buff the skills/uniques tremendously it's going to be a huge problem with this endgame update. Where 90% can't run their own builds and have to go meta because the content is too hard. As well as figure out how to slot rarity on their gear until GGG decides to make it not affect currency.

for sure. i mean you're the main character of the story. You're supposed to be powerful. GGG definitely has some balancing to do on this front as only certain things you do make you feel this way. I definitely feel like despite being "all-powerful" there are far too many "wtf killed me" moments. but I know that's just GGG in a nutshell.

I feel like balance is in a decent spot as far as potential build variety goes. I’ve seen so many builds nuke all content. But as long as there’s one build that is clearly WAY stronger, people will just do that one. There are many very viable builds this league that allow you to trounce everything, but comet/COC is just even bettererer

I would say so, yeah. Within reason. If you have good DPS, then spreading that dps to more enemies is better in most cases. Temple is more about mass of mobs than massive single target damage. That said, you do need pretty good dps per target.

I'll probably just take the 60 exalt hit and try the Cholotl's Soul Core of War for a run through the temple later tonight. I don't even know how much the DPS would go up with 20% projectile speed, but should be a decent amount. Lightening arrow with Dominus Grasp with 2 arrows should still clear the rooms... but lets see... Surely for singular bosses, the extra DPS would be better... though someone wrote that Lightening Rod actually benefits from extra arrow... so it's a bit confusing

Ranger/Deadeye - Lightning Arrow/Rod/Tornado Shot.... Lightning Arrow is at base 320K DPS currently.... and my bow shoots 3 arrows with the Countess augment

Yeah give it a shot and see. 320 may be a bit low if you wanna do group temple, but I’m not sure
