this was probably like 200div, most of which is reflect aegis, 3 flask mageblood (unnecessary), +1 ralakesh and random megalos with primordial bond.
ignore the trillion tattoos on my tree everywhere, theres only 2 runes - of treachery and fortress that are needed.
infinite room for changes or upgrades, exploding mod on regalia is not that much needed either

oh here thats a big dps difference in the armor choice

ur items are mostly better than mine but ur missing some key stuff like that armor i have

ur mediums are aoe focused not minion hp focused, thats a choice up to u whether u want less dps and more aoe or other way around

can keep if u like it

ur large cluster is a dps one mine is block focused, would have to change tree to drop extra block u might have that i dont or something like that if u wanna swap the large

amulet everyone i found on ninja was usually using ashes of the stars not xophs

u can keep ur boots proly cuz its mostly for the +1 and some extra res and spell block

i play builds with absurd recovery so usually its really easy to tell just by my health moving alone, but there are builds which aren't tanky enough without their recov to react if ur not constantly paying attention

This build is dropped several times every day, you can just read here

It's taken for survivability, not merely for reflect immunity. It's a ~3k layer of extra HP to any elemental damage that comes your way. Especially if you have armour or evasion (which actually both handle the bulk of what people die to in softcore) it makes for a surprisingly tanky character for rapid mapping.

Definitely get yourself some more physical damage reduction/armour. Might consider swapping a flask to a granite one, as that will give a huge bump to armour. (contrary to popular misconception, armour does help you against one-shots because it still outright scales down the damage of a hit)

Your PoB's "max hit" is deceptive because it assumes that you've always got Immortal Call up at max charges, which isn't possible. (in fact, i'm not even seeing where you're getting your endurance charges...) Correcting for this, your actual defense numbers are closer to the bottom than the top in the image shown.

Note that the build you're following skips that by using Steelskin instead of Immortal Call as its guard skill.

Vaal Immortal Call was made legacy in 3.7 (Legion league) back in... 2019. So it only exists on Standard for those of us that had acquired it beforehand.

And yeah, if built properly around you just... Are truly immortal.

By default it has a duration of 0.4 seconds and a cooldown of 60 seconds. But those two can be scaled to make the duration greater than the cooldown. (unlike real guard skills, its cooldown does not wait until the duration expires for it to begin) Couple that with eliminating the soul cost, and it just... Is permanently up.

It is possible to win; IIRC the one real weakness is if you can steal its charges away, the VIC will run out of juice. Also it's not actually immune to damage or effects, so you can freezelock them.

why do you need unvavering stance? or those unique gloves for... manacost? when you could take off these increased cost nodes, and get good rare gloves. that righteous fire you cant even use without dying, right? it could be lvl1 clarity for a ton of good ehp watcher mods

that is some 2 divine watchers for example (i added in lvl1 clarity)

but overall im thinking you will be still a glass cannon for eternal conflict, you need to get more ehp for the price of some damage, you have too many uniques and zero defensive layers

and the only one you kind of had with 26% evasion, you disabled with unwavering stance

no easy fix for whatever you have right now, and your max hits are actually even lower if you dont have mana

You can replace the pretty useless basalt flask with Katarina's unique flask. It gives you Onslaught (faster movement), plus there's a Veild mod for extra curse. The point: swap the Enhance in your Wand for Sniper's Mark—this massively boosts your boss DPS. Also, your shield has a free link, so slot in Punishment or Temporal Chains there, depending on what you need more and like better.
For gloves, you need a Raise Spectre setup: Raise Spectre - Feeding Frenzy - Congregration gem. Then add spectres that provide buffs. You can search for them yourself if you want, or I can. In the end, helmet + all this will give you about 50+% more damage.

And there are 2 interesting mods on gloves (eater and exarch): minion damage, effect of marks

You don't need this. Just clarity (clarity+arrogance. Wrath+eternal blessing)+ reduce the mana cost even more. I had 97 manacost on an archmage with 12k mana
as for survival, just take the nodes on the Es+frost shield+"instinct" node with mastery which gives u lucky suppress

1. pobb says you're a trickster, click ghost dance, this isnt optional on that ascendancy. but maybe you're a sabotour? path of building seems confused
2. NVM mines cant leech, ignore 2
3. your energy shield is far far stronger than your hp and your shield makes having a large life pool unnecessary. unspec all your health nodes (cruel preparation, melding) and put those points in ES instead. Swap your boots to an ES base instead of life/eva. Note that if you take off your shield you will insta die to chaos damage, so if you want to swap out that shield you'll need to go CI
4. since you have Polymath you probably want to take something for the Energy Shield and Evasion mastery on soul thief
5. a jade flask would help you greatly
6. some minor tree fixes, you have a wasted 10 int node below throatseeker and trickery is a notoriously garbage node, you probably want to path to assassination from the right and skip that one, arcane sanctuary is pretty trash if youre not spell block capping (which you aren't)

Following up with that list, I'm not actually sure why you're using Esh's Visage, as your skitterbots already provide a source of shock; while it does provide you with a second aura around you, (rather than the 3m aura around the shocking skitterbot) this doesn't seem terribly useful, as the whole point of a miner is that you aren't near enemies when they get hit... But your skitterbots are.

So I'd be a bit more firm in suggesting you un-spec your life nodes (anything below 4k invites you getting one-shot even with ES) and go Chaos Innoculation.

This also frees up your first flask slot to let you take that Jade Flask.

They might mean that it doesn't need to be perfect, but does need to be at least "normal" and not "imperfect."

Imperfect Hulking Miscreations lack the aura that buffs nearby allies (e.g, your other minions) for 100% increased damage & 30% increased attack & cast speed. That's a pretty hefty boost regardless of what your other spectres are.

The upgrade for a "Perfect" Hulking Miscreation is far more modest: its own damage scaling off of armour goes only up to 8% per 450 armour it has. (vs. 5% per 450 for the other two tiers)

Yeah, I read the guide there. It's also weird that it's in parenthesis instead of mentioning anything beforehand, like the others. (Carnage Chieftain isn't itemized so it doesn't have those tiers)

The only logical explanation I could see for this is that he doesn't want the Hulking Miscreation to be itself dealing enough damage to kill enemies, and instead have the others do it. Since the only functional difference between a Normal HM and a Perfect HM is the latter will be doing slightly more damage.

Having Thunderbird gives u much better evasion like 10-20k on top of ur armor from turtle. This also combos good with having hybrid armor evasion gear with suppress at higher budget too.

You got no evasion or armour and no block so almost no defense if you get hit in that case
Not sure which Guide you followed but your build lacks defense

the shield version has much higher single target, but less "clear" as it has only the herald and not a 6L herald

DPS of the HoI one is definitely underwhelming for the cost if youre talking single target - clear is fantastic

first one is more an allrounder while the other is more of a map blaster that can do bosses if it has to

If I was you I’d get a jade flask or stibnite for more evasion
Then get instant leech mastery on tree
And get movement speed and stun immunity on flasks
The sulphur flask is bad I think
Same for the leech suffix and crafted suffix

It's still got some potential tbf. You got the blind notes that give a mix of offense and defence and the AOE notes in the cluster you're already working in are quite good too.

This is my 4th league playing POE, and I’m currently trying to learn more about defenses.
I’m playing a Warden Tornado Shot build focused mainly on evasion, and I’ve been struggling a bit with survivability.
The DPS feels great, but I’m getting tired of occasionally being one-shot. I’d especially like to improve my Physical Max Hit a bit more.
