Hi I can't figure out for the life of me what damage over time is killing me. I was on wave 3 of an ultimatum and my health flask was useless.|
I was running 3 bribings, 1 Inspcription, 1 that makes all the catalysts.

Do I actually need like over 6k raw hp to tank a hit with my petrified blood? Is a singular hit for godawful damage what killed me?

depends how deep you want to go. if you're just wanting to learn an intro to delve, up to depth ~150 is no harder than t16 maps, and if you can play a build in those maps, you can play it in delve. the deeper you go the more enemies will scale, and you want to look at builds that are both tanky and good at dealing with a lot of enemies in a small area. MSoZ comes to mind for a build you can play relatively early and delve very deep on - connor's video / PoBs on it is a good starting point, though it may be a bit learny? i'm not sure rly lol

delve builds in general can have very, very high investment, because delve scales ludicrously high, even to the point that even magic (blue) mobs can have the maximum amount of hp the game can handle. don't be intimidated by a pob just because it has a version that's multimirror. you can also search on poe.ninja's leaderboard for depth ladder, and look at the builds people on the ladder are using - though that may require a bit more understanding of how expensive each build is, and what you can and can't sacrifice for the sake of making it cheaper

i made this a bit ago as an experiment in seeing how early on you can swap to msoz and still have it be pretty playable for delve in particular, and i was able to get to ~400 depth on this bad of a build, but it's pretty skill-based to survive that deep with this bad of a pob lol

obviously if you're not, yknow, level 80, and you have some somewhat decent gear, it can do a lot better in early delve

there's a lot to say here. i'd like to start by saying that i personally depsise the blood magic // lifetap setups for msoz, i think losing tank due to reservation (notably not being able to take AA / Flesh and Stone early on) is not worth having slightly less to worry about with mana. the only thing you don't have without blood magic is effective mana on hit, which i think is nowhere near a good enough argument for the tank you lose

your amulet should become a str-stacking simplex, and your ring given warlord influence, before other upgrades. this gives you 15% str from bound by destiny as well as all of the benefits of the str stacking simplex itself

you're missing an enormous chunk of dps from not having adjacent animosity allocated (see image), it doesn't show up if you configure your PoB wrong, however, so that may be why so many people miss it

i've never seen a defy pain build on msoz before. with msoz, you have ungodly recoup, so your primary enemy is not large stacks of chip damage, but rather being taken from full hp to 0. defy pain does absolutely nothing to mitigate this. Valako is a good option for 90% allres early on, and Ngamahu can do work if you have a sacred with DR/180 str on it

you can take off the PoE sublime and put on a watchers that also has life on hit with vitality if you'd like, but the main reason i don't like a PoE sublime is that you lose access to Flesh and Stone, which can act as 20% DR

putting 5 points into getting a source of fortify is wasteful, you can just put fortify on your leap slam and leap slam into things, you have more than enough damage to go from 0 to 20 fortification in 1 slam

i have no idea why you take life/mana leech on the tree when msoz uses crown of eyes which has life/mana leech built in. i guess if you really feel you need more leech, but life-on-hit is far more effective with just how many projectiles msoz hits per second

these are Fine, but i think really you should train yourself to be okay with pressing buttons. putting snipers mark + mark on hit alongside withering step frees up extra gem slots (for fortify on leap slam) as well as giving you more quality on ur mark which can actually be quite nice

blood rage i usually just throw on my helmet, press it once at the start of the map, and forget about it. it lasts basically infinitely as long as you're killing things

i usually have a 6-link guard setup which iirc i got the idea from Sime for in 3.26, it looks kinda bizarre (and relies on you using mana), but it actually helps balance out the downtime of immortal call pretty well

if you're on standard, and let's say you don't want the bugged AS chest for whatever reason, be it financial concern or just not wanting it to feel "too easy", you should look for a 2ndhand copy of the AS helmet, get some 1p voices (or 3p ig, but you have the budget for 1p), find some non-bugged AS chest that's probably like 0.2 cents bc everyone would just use the bugged one normally, and work from those "big" pieces

if you're fine giving misha or someone 8 mirrors for a copy of the bugged AS chest, that's your #1 priority for a standard armourstacker. you can use that chest and a replica dreamfeather and you're already better than in-league armourstackers

really AS is the helm, the chest, and clusters, alongside dreamfeather and possibly aegis for sustainability. unleashed potential and charge rings with (ralakesh? rakiata's? the Charge Shoes) is a potential option, as is a whole variety of different boots such as march of the legion, triple-synth, onslaught/tailwind/elusive, etc. the "optimal" AS build depends on your skill (*as in, skill gem) and you can spend a long time PoBing it

there are other versions if you want with the new belt, i personally like MB a lot

and like i said, gear is not minmaxed, ring is from when i didnt have mb so the resistances it has are useless mods, same for many resistances on the gear

also no level 4 greater spell echo as i didnt feel a need of more damage and i got other upgrades first and left that

but it feels pretty nice overall

tho eHP may seem low, it feels way more than that

i would say more than a mirror, but mostly cause of the volatile vaaled rathpith and the body armour

got lucky drops with that

without them, i would say less than a mirror

only expensive thing there would be imbued with crit strikes shock nova of procession which i think is selling for 100 divs now (which is not needed, you can fit other things there) and simplex

also if u want more eHP and dont have a reflected simplex, you can always get +2 min endurance charges craft on it

or get one spectre to be perfect warlord

also abyssal sockets are not 100% needed on gear
