It's hard to tell since it's only a gif, but I analysed it frame by frame and I think your opponent hits the goal post head on, meaning it bounced back in a similar fashion. If you take a look at this clip, you can see an overlapping green area of the goal post and the ball. I attached a graphic so my point gets a little bit more clear. It might just look confusing from your POV and I don't think it's a bug (at least in this case).

Not only Soccer, even Beast Hockey has this bug. Pluck goes into goal and bounces back.

It's alright. Yes, it collided with the post and It kinda looks like a natural bounce at least to me. Lost a lot of potential energy on the impact and bounced back because the corner of the post was hit straight on.

here in better quality, since it got provided. And again, if the ball would hit the inside of the goal post (and therefore go in), we wouldn't see any overlap with the ball in front of the goalpost in the active POV. This indicates, that the ball hit the corner (because the ball is not completely spherical in this shot but has an indentation)/or the front of the post, which makes the angle, the ball bounced back, plausible. So, it was just a shot at the goal post, the bounce is natural, there is no bug as far as I can tell.

In this MONTAGE which is photo-edited, the ball would (probably) go in since there is no overlap, but this didn't happen.

I don't have much to say about the "bug" itself but kudos to Pudding for the technical analysis pa_OttaPog
