Fairly hard to interpret all possible economic factors from both the US and Japan. Easier to look at the price action.

But having said that, it does look possible that it bounces here. I’ll keep an eye on it for now.

I believe you. Every country is the same and it’s due to massive monetary expansion through COVID. Look at the M2 money supply in 2020 go vertical.

Trump was in at that time. An increase in money supply does not equal a strong dollar. It leads to currency weakness which leads to the increase in prices which you reference.

Someone recently put me onto using standard deviations. Google ICT standard deviations. Basically fib retracement with numbers changed to whole numbers and 0.5 increments. These were from the move towards the top but still

I used to when trading crypto. Adding that to TA can be useful. I haven’t for FOREX or equities. I’m trying to keep it simple and not look at too many things.

I used to trade mostly patterns. But it’s a lot of work and has a high failure rate. It can work if you can see the pattern forming before most other people. Otherwise, if a pattern (eg a bull pennant) is so clearly evident that everyone is talking about it, it can be a good strategy to look for a counter trade. Eg in crypto if everyone is posting the same bullish pennant, everyone tries to long the floor and it breaks down —> short it.

But there’s a lot of subjectivity to pattern trading. These price action strategies can have very objective rules with tight stop losses and potential for large returns. Even if you only have a 30% win rate if you’re average win to average loss size is 10:1 you’d end up very well in the green.

I don’t think anyone can answer that.

It’s just about finding a strategy that works for you and fits with who you are as a trader.

If there was any strategy that was 100% accurate it would be a terrible thing. Algo traders would take it all. Well, until the strategy became widely known —> if too many people are using it it is less likely to work.

At any moment it is impossible to predict the actions of every single person trading a chart, as well as how unknown news, political and economic events will influence the future.

Bit of both I think. Buyers and sellers. Plus market makers who know use the order book and algos to move the price.

Could be based on anything. Don’t know. But say a market maker knows that the order book (sells) is thin up to a price where there is a large short liquidation (say $1m). At that price, the short will be closed leading to a $1m buy order. The market maker algo could then have a short order just above for $1m knowing that the liquidation would fill it. Maybe they would need to spend 200k to move to that liquidation price —> would fill their $1m short and at the same time they close there 200k long.

So the market just goes to liquidity?

That’s just an example. I’m sure they have many factors in their algos. ICT and price action strategies assume that things like FVGs and order blocks are also involved in the algos.

Like I said before, it is impossible to predict the future. Knowing what is going to happen with 100% accuracy would require just that.

Think of the gold chart. It’s impossible to know what each of the millions of people trading the chart are going to do over any period of time in the future. It’s impossible to know what economic, political, news, weather etc events are going to occur and how they will collectively affect the price. In my opinion, all chart predictions and all strategies are just ideas.

All you need is for your win rate x your average win size to exceed your loss rate x your average loss size.

I think it depends. Say there’s a clear pattern like a bull flag. If everyone bought the bottom of the flag in spot, it should bounce and play out. If everyone leverage longs it, it creates a lot of liquidations to target below —> probably won’t work. I think you need some people to agree with you so that it moves in the predicted direction, but you don’t want everyone doing the same thing.

You have to create a strat for you, for your trading style..
Impossible to copy and use someone else's strat
Those strats were created for the other traders style, not your style.
You have to create a strat for yourself.

My query is not to promote copying a system or algo parameters - I wanted to exchange with somebody to discuss goals and mindset. Why? Because the equation requires more than just the destination - planning the pathway to the destination is equally important. Hi there, I won't be able to recommend a particular way to do this, but I can give you an idea on how this works. Trading View uses webhooks as an option in its alerts to connect to other 3rd parties.
The logic is as follows:

• Trading View alert -> webhook URL -> 3rd party platform (your own or you purchase a service) -> your broker/exchange/trading platform.
  A message is sent by the alert to the trading platform to open/close/modify trades.

It will be up to you though to decide on which platform you will go for. If you are a developer, you can build your own, or search for a 3rd party service that integrates with Trading View and your broker/exchange/trading platform.

please be advised that LuxAlgo does not provide direct support for automation, as this is facilitated through third-party software, and the process varies depending on the program being used. The toolkit can facilitate such automation; however, beyond adjusting settings on the indicators provided by LuxAlgo, we would not be able to provide further advice
