Thats because there are differences in brokers - different brokerages have their own exchanges and liquidity. Although visually, the candlesticks may look similar,, there will be slight differences underneath the hood, such as the liquidity pool and data feed that each forex broker exchange has available. This is unlike the futures markets, as the futures are traded on a singular regulated exchange, such as the Chicago CME.

For forex, there are hundreds of individual FX broker exchanges, some regulated, some not.

For example: my mt4 broker is Eightcap. So on TradingView chart I would select XAUUSD - Eightcap so the charts match both my MetaTrader and TradingView.

• If I selected XAUUSD - OANDA on TradingView it may differ from my MT4 eightcap chart for reasons mentioned above.

i pay £150 commission for every 50 lot i place

gold i use 10.0 lots and pay i think its 23-24£ per trade placed

You use 10 lots on gold too ive seen so you should have similar commission? I presume your prop funded from the positions you place on gold. These are FTMOs

Today my commission higher than usual as ive traded more than i usually do. Should of stopped at that gold TP this morning for +4k but was greedy so then ended up -3k/4k for the day then made it back with a few EU trades to finish day -453 but with commission -1327

But also in hospital so think ill prob call it a week after today trading wise as Wifi is iffy and aint best environment for trading

Gold is very volatile, id recommend going over your strategy on gold via the bar replay and seeing what works for you and what doesn't. If your fairly knew to trading though i wouldnt recommend gold initially. But trading's all about patience and it isnt a sprint at the end of the day, as long as in profit at end of the month etc its fine,

Don't be disheartened when you see people posting all these wins and start comparing yourself to others. For all you know they could of been trading 5-10+ years and comparing yourself to them is detrimental to your own trading journey.

a lot of results in trading can be glamourised and to look like they don't lose which then in tern makes you feel bad if you have losing days/weeks. But losses are inevitable in trading. No one will have profitable months after month. Anyone who says they don't have negative months are lying. I've been full time trading for 3 years now and for me today i ended up in a loss overall. It happens. Losses is where we learn what went right/what went wrong in our analysis and we learn from that. (Attached my picture from todays trades).

As long as we're analysing our previous trades and learning from them, thats all that matters. It can take years to become profitable overall in trading. Theres no quick get rich quick scheme with trading. Takes a long time to find a strategy what works for you and for you to then master that strategy on a particular pair

Transparency is key, I myself found myself believing all these insta 'guru's or signal providers who claimed huge R:R or profits when I first started trading and then when I lost I started doubting myself and my abilities because everyone else was constantly winning. I thought.. why am i not winning? im a bad trader? etc. But that's not the case at all, but a lot of people get sucked into that idea and then it has a knock on affect in their trading.

Took me nearly 5 years to become what I call consistently profitable, might not be a huge amount to some people but as long as im profitable thats all that matters. People start trading with the idea they can somehow overnight turn a £500/1000 account into thousands, doubling their account weekly.

If that was the case, everyone would be rich. There's a reason why 97% of traders ain't profitable and a lot of it stems from social media and the idea of what's realistic in terms of trading.

I think of it like this, if I had £1000 in a saving account what makes 3% PA (per annual). That means in 12 months my £1000 investment (savings) would of made me £30. So therefore if i can use £1000 in trading and make more than £30 in a year. (12 month / £30 = £2.50 a month). Im better off trading than having it in a savings account.

But these days if you say to someone invest £1000 in trading for yourself and if you make more than £2.50 a month for 12 months your better off than having it in a saving account, they would laugh at you. When in reality its true. You'd be better off trading if you made say £3 a month for 12 months as opposed to depositing it in a saving ISA etc. Balls down to social media again. People expect £1,000 investment to yeild massive results and turning that £1,000 investment into thousands.

When in reality if you turn that £1,000 into more than £1,030 in a year, trading has been more profitable than a saving account.

The thing about Gold is that it is also affected by a number of market factors such as US Treasury Notes yields and Central Bank policies, to name a few. The correlation between DXY and Gold hasn't been consistent over the past few years. You might have to look more deeply into fundamentals if you want to know the why 🙂

Focus on that sl...it is fine if your sl is wide..just aim for 1:1.5 if you are not confident enough

As you become more confident your sl can be smaller and that increases your profits eventually

I dont know that indicator but based on what I am looking at I would say it started 45 mins ago. If you were live trading this you would be jumping in to this trade to late. I would be looking at entering it i would look to sell at 161.48.

But USDJPY is in an uptrend. I will never trade again my perception of the daily market bias hope that helps

There quite a few. You have slightly different rules though. You have to have a very average level of trading over 5 days. DD is about 5% max. you can trade for 5 days. however they wont pay if any single day is GT 20 precent of your total profit. so it forces consistent trading, but in theory if you are any good you can obtain payment in say about 5 or days plus 7 hours for the payout....

on XAU you considerd a complete oppopsite approach if you do not have obligations.. trade on asian market... in a very boring way. up down... then trade after start of UK market. sleep 3 hours. trade with the US/UK cross over for about 3 hours out side of news. Then simply eat.. hit head on wall and sleep. rewind rince repeat... your brain may go, but I bet you will have decent profit if you pay attention. Do not take LSD.. as the sleep bit goes missing.

one thing i can say, is any trader can experience fear of entering just incase its wrong...Perhaps at this point, in your mind decide if your reasons for entering are correct and do you know when you will exit. if you have these and are willing to lose.. then try to argue against. You will fail and then enter... once that done each day... you will "ride the wave"
