Anyone trade GBP/USD? Do we think the USD is going to smash through the GBP support? Looks like the greenback is the most stable currency in the global market and the US PMI data due is forecast to be mostly unchanged. I think the UK unemployment rate will actually climb when published 12 sept so surely that'll embolden USD in the pair? Or do we think the .25% expected interest rate rise in the UK will put confidence back in GBP and we see it climb against USD?

but when you broker resets for the day (for me thats 5 pm) your broker's sell price will go up about like 15 pips, and the buy price will go down 15 pips, creating a 30 pip spread

when that happens, it can hit you stopp loss (seeing as all sells are actually higher than marker price and buy are lower than market price). that how the spread hits your stop loss, even thow the market price doesnt actually move

#

thats why you cant see it on TV

only your broker account can see it

#

make sure you have the buy and sell price labels enabled in your MT5, so you can see it.

the spread is diffrent per pair but you get the point

Nothing is getting messed up. Forex prices will rise and fall as they need to. I never trade into news, unless it’s a htf hold that I’m already holding into. I wait for markets to react to news I wait for follow through momentum or reversal indications and then if the probabilities in my favor I’m in.

For instance I know jpy intervention is coming once usdjpy reaches the 148-150 range as the boj has continued to give us warnings of their intervention. So with that I’ve been long GJ since June, meaning each subsequent trade I take for the shorter term is also long. Occasionally price will run against me in the short term but that’s just a fire sale my friend!

swaps have to do with interest rate differential and yield. Anytime you hold a long against jpy it will pay you to hold it rather than charge you. Wont always be like that but its been a nice ride.
