Im not sure yet. I always have my Lux Colors with HA bars, thats a no brainer, if I just want 10pips daily, rinse and repeat. Then I did very well with the new Liq Sentiment Profile for a few days since its release. Now I want to try with small positions on my OB's template I always had. So not sure yet. I know I can make any of these 3 work. Just need to find out if i want the quick 10 pips in and out and enjoy the rest of my day, or wait patiently for the Liq Sent. Profile or OB set-ups for little larger TP levels 🤷🏻‍♂️

Im leaning towards the futures world, been away from it awhile, might be a good time to switch over to get something fresh and new in my head

Hello everyone. I'm new to this and have a few noob questions, and I thought I would post all of them at the same time. Sorry if this is not the correct channel for the post/questions.

Which pair (or pairs) is best for 1/5 minute timeframe?
I know the standard/common ones typically have less spread, so not sure if it's best to stay with them or branch out
Or is it typically on a day to day basis or week over week basis for decided which pair to trade?
If so, how do you tell when to switch from one pair to another? (for example - use a scanner)

Which broker?
Does everyone typically go with - fill in blank ___ (for example - forex.com) the same broker because they are the best?
In general, is it best to find a broker with the smallest spread?
Sometimes I find myself entering a trading and being immediately $400.00 in the negative with AUD/JPY

Best consolidation indicators? - Any suggestions on what approach to take to finding flat scenarios/times to avoid trading? (note - I'm in Seattle USA PST time zone)

Forex or stock?
I know forex is better for many reasons and want to continue with forex, but when entering a trading and being $400.00 down immediately is not what I'm looking for

Hey there 👋

@crude spade I can answer all these questions with 2 words, but I wont say it this time, but just write my thoughts. First this that popped out was that you mentioned you get $400 negative after entry most times. This tells me you are using a larger position?

Typically, the spread os Aud/Jpy is about 1.5-2.0 pips, and each pip is about $6.92 each. So being down $400 immediately sounds like your over leveraging or trading a larger amount of lots .

• for 1m to 5m TF is a little noisy, try higher TF's, at least 15m maybe? less noise

• Broker? depends on where you live and what is available for your country of residence

• FX or Stock, something you would need to decide, as they trade differently with different leveraging aspects

• Consolidation indicators? You started in the right direction for being with Lux. Take a look at the Signals and Overlays and its dashboard, and also study the Oscillator Matrix. I think these are very good and maybe what your looking for....

with maximum 2 pip spread, depending on broker, and each pip is about $6.92 for full lots size, your probably using about 30 lots?

if it is indeed 30 lots, then yes, going down $400 due to spread is typical

This is the way forex works, it is the fee we pay. Once we enter, we will always be in the negative according the spread amount.

So if AUD/JPY has a 2 pip spread, and you are trading 1 lot, and after entry, you should be -2 pips to start your trade

Looking for a break of the neck line and a retest of it once broken , then the next level for trend change confirmation would be the break of the channel having another level of great resistance around 1980.

I don’t do prop firms. I never gave it much thought. One of the reasons is that I truly believe they are geared to have you fail. Your challenge fees actually are used to pay the few prop firm members who actually pass. And another reason is I am very good with my own rules. There is no way I could trade under the prop forms rules. And I don’t use a SL. I want to trade whenever I want, under my own rules. If I start to learn to trade a prop firms rules, then that will definitely cause havoc with my brain when I’m trading my live cash account…

Not sure if this makes any sense 🤷🏻‍♂️

And I love trading direct on TV charts.

The odds of being successful at prop firms is much lower than trading on your own account. And we all know the tough odds on that are.

The end goal is to make your own money grow - whether you use prop firms to increase your base capital or your regular job or business doesn't really matter. @echo kiln admittedly though prop firm rules are simpler than before. Definitely big differences as compared to last year.

That’s why I want to get funded with like $300k+ and just use a small lot size for the account so the DD isn’t as worrisome.

I guess you have to be careful and pick the right prop firm, as some find an excuse not to pay you out or they dont even bother responding back to you. Most of these accounts are traded on a demo account, so what entity or authority will foce a prop firm to pay you out in real cash, when the traded account is demo? All these things are probably very rare circumstances that they dont pay, but the risk in there. You hear these stories all over the internet. But Like I say, for those that master it and are profitable, then heck yeah! I know many good traders that simply cant pass the challenges, but they can sure trade like there is no tomorrow on their own accounts with their own rules.....

Just have to find what works....

Just expanding on this thought and ill stop, LOL. I dont know the answer, so Ill ask. Do the prop firms issue year end P/L tax statements for me to file my taxes? since I live in the states. Or that is something I need to figure out on my own? and do they pay you out in crypto? with year end statements? because all these are just screaming audit with the tax feds....

Yeah, im sure they are very legit and payout 100% of the times, but some prop firms use this and take advantage and dont pay out...so yes, do your homework and pick the best ones to use

Maybe one day soon, Ill open a prop firm acct, you never know, I could be hooked on it...

I like how you can get funding from 25,000 up to 1 million

And actually visit the company in Florida if you want to. They even encourage it. This was huge to me because I saw all the fraud companies that operate internationally.

After messing around with the basic Multi TF trend catcher strategy it is finally time to incorporate the matrix.

I believe I can create better entries all while still maintaining a 5 pip SL.

Think I saw someone rock these settings and I kinda like it 👍. We’ll see how tomorrow’s trading session goes. I’m gonna attempt a trailing SL strategy on my challenge account (not the funded one).

I can tell you a few things that I have observed in my backtests of gold - it has a huge daily range, it whiplashes, and over the past few months of price action, buys have been more profitable than sells.

HIgh risk, high reward.

This is the hourly chart on gold - since Wednesday it has been range bound, and more bullish than bearish. Not saying you can't do shorts - but best to look at the higher end of the range before doing so.
