Took a short, went against my rules just a little, but not too much, took a short based on weekly and daily downtrend, but the immediate trend was uptrend, snagged 10pips, right before the pop to the immediate uptrend, close call, pure luck, I have to admit it. My executions auto marked on chart as i'm probably the only one that trades directly on TV charts, as its integrated with my broker Oanda...

The true rules-based trade play, was the long trade after my risky short. Pure luck, dam, dodged a bullet.

I work fulltime on the markets, and use all day analyzing all the pairs thoroughly, as many as i have time for, so my tip would be don’t rush through them, but analyze what you have the time for, more pairs = more possible trades

Ye gotcha. Trading on a 15min timeframe with a strat that’s accurate but does not happen too often, so i guess it is better to spread around many currencies indeed

If i were you i would use multiple timeframes, starting topdown analysis, start on the bigger timeframes to find the market trend and then work your way down, its also described in #🧠core-lessons - very useful

Spreads will automatically send you into drawback so make sure your account can handle a 1.0 lot, I get nervous trading a .5 lot size so I can only imagine trading a 10 dollar lot size lol

the current price is not the price the buy/sell position is at. if you sold a position, and its 2 pips above the current price, price needs to drop 2 more pip to get to 0 eur again

or vice versa at buy positions

you can check the buy/sell price at the left top courner of trading view

its mostly different to the current price showing on the chart

Hi Javi, I’m relatively new too. What I do is trade on dailys and 1hrs, which means trades typically stay open for a few days to a week or two. It also means I place trades at anytime. If you plan on day trading the open and close of London, New York and Tokyo are often when I see greatest volume and movement.

You can set alerts to let you know when an opportunity to trade arises.

Basically every indicator in existence changes it's value during a bar; from moving averages to RSI

You just need to wait for the close

Once closed the signal remains and is deemed confirmed ☺️

During live trading or forward testing, the close value of the current bar is constantly changing from as soon as the bar opens until the moment it closes. The final close price is not known until right at the end of the bar. This means that the indicator is constantly “repainting” during the bar. You will see that indicators are constantly moving with each tick received. Place an RSI on your and watch it move to see it in action.

depends on what's one's understanding of "change". if traders realize that indicators are mathematical formulas that work with two dimensional values, they will understand. otherwise is useless to try and explain to them. a candle is not one value, but an interval of values.

try this @cinder gulch. Turn off those Signal alert on your chart. Reason is, most of the time this will muddy up your bias. Try to use confluence or multiple confirmations based on the LuxAlgo / LuxSR / NW. Try to be a swing trader, so that you could still enjoy your life while trading 🤣 . Seriously, trade at H4 and use lower timeframe (m5/m15/m30) for your sniper entry. Don't be too reactive on every price movement, you will develop nervous breakdown / hypertension. Price goes up and down, that's a reality and FX is so volatile. Choose a pair which is more liquid than volatile, check liquidity on some websites.

3.) Check how many pips you could earned and half month of staying on buy trend, half month that all you need is to be patient, watch, and drink 🍺

I have a bot in ctrader (EA in MT4) that for any open trades I have, it will automatically managed. So basically one of the feature is it will move my SL to +xx of entry price when current price moves about xx from entry price, then SL will keep moving to positive zone as price moves further in profit. I also use scaling in/out which is automated. Maybe try to look on this area and it could help you with your open trades.

You may want to check ftmo.com and check their rules, that is actually one good rule to follow even if you are not joining them. I normally do 1:3 or 1:5 RRR. Yes I learned it the hard way as well, I got a very profitable year when starting then I become cocky in trading then Ms Market smack my head and boom burned my account, the bright side I was able to withdraw the profit. Through all those years, what I learned is to make my chart as simple as possible to see the bigger picture. I like the Lux S/R as it automate what I do one each chart day in day out, plus the tool tips is somehow kind of a quick reminder for my tiny brain.

Right click on the chart symbol you want to set an alert on (say buy or sell) you will see a menu with the first item being Add alert …

Please note though that Basic Trading View has only 1 alert for the plan, if you need more you would need to get one of the upgraded plans.

Your account is only 300 and trading 1 lot size would be very high risk to burn it quicker than you think. For 300, I would suggest use a lot size of 0.03 with RRR set to 3:1 (eg TP set 6% of your account and SL set 2% of your account). This way you need at least to lose 3x before losing your 1 win. Then build your account to 400 to make use of 0.04 lot size and so on. So for 1000, use a lot size of 0.1. Increment the size of your lot size to 100. Be patience in building your account.

what is 6% of your account? then set your TP that would make you earn 6%. What is 2% of your account? Then set SL to make you lose only 2% of your account. If you have a 3 losing trade simultaneously , call it a day and live another day. Not all day you will have a clear mindset

Once you have the grip of Lux Algo, (meaning once you fully confident using the Lux Algo with your much better trade entry) you can raise your risk reward ratio to something like 4:1 or even 5:1. Just be patient to get accustomed first using the Lux Algo

This is just my preference; I am not saying this is the best. But go heavy learning and understanding Lux Algo SR & Patterns Premium. Learn it well as it contains all the tools that you needed. I am not doing any automated back test, I just do some replay or moving chart to previous 1 - 2 months ago and check major price bounces and how Lux Algo SR reacts. Tweak some settings and see what will happen. For example, I will turn on Lux Sweeps and default I think is 3 but I would play say 6 or 10 or anything. Then check previous price movement, focusing on major bounces and see how Lux Sweeps reacts. In that way, on future price actions then I would have somehow had a clear idea how Lux Sweeps / Swing Structures / Order Block / Pattern Detector would react and a bit of idea why they react that way.

And what is the essence of Lux Profile. The most underrated tools of Lux SR, I think, is the Lux Profile as I noticed few people talks about it. Yes, it can be improved like showing the OVA (outside value Area) in somehow another color or more transparent, Adjusting the Value Area to 68 than I think Lux Algo default is 70 and so on. It needs a parameter for user settings, but it still gives a nice picture of where the price is heavily traded. Check the chart below, see the m15 and see how price consolidate around 0.96083, then I presume price will breakout from there either up or down. Check the Lux Profile 🙂 on m15.

Wait for the TREND action and do not trade the consolidation. Just be patient. There are countless opportunities always. Good luck and make your weekend a Lux Algo learning one🙏🏻 👍🏻

Hi, glad you asked but this is more like a quick scalping during my break. Took a 900 pips profit under 1 hour.

1.) I check the POC
2.) Saw Sweeps there so my assumptions that it is a support area (demand zone)
3.) Check the pattern detector and saw price moves outside of upper line of wedge.
4.) Made an entry after the closed of previous candle ( I always wait for candle to be closed before making a trade)
5.) Took a 900 pips profit quickly on a resistance sweep (supply zone) .

Profit is profit.....just making the most with my free time to make a trade.

Likewise, you need to have quick thinking when scalping.

There is no way to predict market movements without those data, it will be tantamount to playing roulette 🙂 . I'm also looking forward for a FED dovish stance but it will only happens if CPI report suits their expectations. Remember, FED is so protective of their inflation as they fighting credibility.

On H4, I want to see clearly the price movement, Checking if Price is in Premium or Discount (Sell on premium / buy on discount)....I normally avoid trading on any cash rate announcement or other high impact news on that I know can create sudden price volatility (always check Economic Calendar)...Always wait for Price candle to be closed before making a new trade......don't chase price...avoid FOMO......

Here are the reason why it is better to avoid any cash rate report, do not trade 15 mins before and 15 mins after the announcement. And if you wait for price action to stabilize, you should be around more than 40 pips in profit.

Since I am in Hotel Quarantine, as might as well share some strategy that you guys can explore.

As you well all know, I am a big fan of Swing Trading so this example is in H4.
I found out that once confirmed ( @jagged slate please verify), a new swing structures will be created or drawn after 18 periods.
Wait for HH or LL, and or SHH or SLL. See image how much pips profit you can make with less trades. Avoid LH or HL, there is no point in making too many trades.
Even with a late of 18 bars, trading via HH / LL and or SHH or SLL, will still produce a massive pips profit.
Less trades = less commission.
Take note of your account leverage, Free Margin and Margin Level %.
Use Proper lot size (do not oversize your lot size)
Use Proper RRR. For Swing I would suggest a pips profit of 100-250 pips (FOREX only) per trades is quite decent and generous already.
You can use Lux SR and Pattern Premium as your lone indicator.

Remember don't chase price, Profit when happy.....Do not be Greedy and Avoid FOMO

yes the problem is that you see these signals (HH, LL ETC ..) when it is too late and the market has already advanced too far. I don't know why, but despite having premium TV, these signals always come to me too late.

It is not late actually since you need data to process the HH /LL. And if you analyze carefully the image, I pinpoint the entry after 18 candles and still gives a whooping 487 pips on sell (short) and 367 Pips on buy (long). 🤣

Try to analyze thoroughly as sometimes, you will miss the key point .

If you want a dynamic HH/LL, there is lot in TradingView but of course since it is dynamic, it is subject to repainting

That's a good question, so basically you need to account that a new HH / LL always account for 18 candles before a new counter will be drawn. TP and SL is basically all on you, depends what kind of trader you are. See image, GBPCAD m15.

I am a Swing trader mostly and in H4, I play with 1:4 or 1:3 RRR, and playing 0.01% for lot size. Remember, Trading is not a sprint but a marathon, a Trader looks for consistency whereas a Gambler looks for quick profit.

If you will trade HH / LL, read the chart, back test it, you should be not having a huge losses but rather will be more consistent.

Try to create a strategies within Lux SR and Pattern Premium, I found around 3 profitable strategies using Lux SR alone, and you can still add LuxAlgo. Say I will check my 1st strategy, if it doesn't comply then will proceed to No 2 and so on. If nothing fits, why force the issue. There are many opportunities somewhere or other pairs.

*$$$ is King currently, FED is still Hawkish, Rates hike is still not that high enough to change market sentiments, Inflation is still quite high, Jobs report is still attractive and New Homes numbers is still within the matrix.

*WB just release a news about their concerns on CN growth and CNH is on a bearish move, remember that AUD is proxy of CN in FX.

*Technical analysis side shows no strong confirmation yet for AUD and the likes vs USD. (see image)

• 1:2RRR is not ideal as it only need 2 losses to wipe out your win. 0.05% is likewise not ideal when having 5 open trades or more as this will eat up your margin level pretty quickly.

*Every rally is an opportunity to sell and every dip is an opportunity to buy. On that note, not every rally / dip is a reversal sign.

My advice :
"Wait for s STRONG confirmation, both on FA and TA", check for catalyst that will support for your bias."

why not do what you did before and then combine it with lux for additional confluence

also - make sure your optibot settings are correct for whatever pair you are looking at. makes a huge difference

Its a strategy i follow with trend strength. I have enabled neo cloud order blocks and trend line. I follow all three to make any trade. Still its not making any difference. Optibot i left it autopilot. Can you suggest any changes

A pretty effective strategy I use is to combine your the catcher/tracer and hyper trend with the stochastic oscillator. I basically wait for everything to be the same colour, candles above/below the hyper trend and place an alert for the oscillator to change. I do a final check of the higher timeframe and look for swing structures to plot SL/TP.

I typically dont use or dont turn on or look at the actual printed signals. I like to visually see the hyper, neo cloud, and use multi TF charts.
