depends on the price variations you wanna trade and the selected oscillator, higher length periods will be used to track longer term trends 🙂

If you do notifications as you said, then it’s not entirely clear and it seems to me that this is not what you need. Here is an example. The indicator shows that we are in the zone below 80, but a red area is already being drawn, i.e. overbought.

I would like to receive a signal as soon as the given area is drawn red or green. Because overbought and oversold zones are also dynamic, I don’t know what value to set....

you can eventually use a fixed level as gecko mentioned, but if it needs to be from the dynamic ones then using Crossing conditions is what you might want to use. For example for the first appearance of the oversold area (in green) you would need to use "Crossing Down", select Lux Algo Oscillator in the first drop down, then Dynamic Oversold area in the right drop down, the drop down below would be set the same way but using the Dynamic Oversold Level plot

Again, there isn't really a specific limit, one hting you can do to find out, load the swing high/low builtin indicator on your chart, and adjust the length settings until the indicator highlight tops/bottoms you would want trade, then try adjusting the pivot oscillator length to reflect that 🙂 However as I said before the pivot oscillator is offset in the past, so there is that to take into account.

Once a signal (let's say a buy signal) is issued, you would eventually open a long position from it (or just take that information), then this signal is mostly valid until an opposite signal appear on the same ticker, timeframe and settings :)

you eventually ignore them and exit when an opposite signal appear, you can also do only a partial exit, exiting x% of the your position when an exit signal appear. In confluence with the exit signal you can use reversal zones or any other contrarian feature 🙂

Regarding your actual signal to close, from which timeframe chart are you getting this signal? I ask this because the lower timeframe charts have a lot of opposite signals if we are trading towards the 4h direction.

I trade with the overall trend, example, if the 4hr and 1hr TF is bullish, then on the lower TF like 15m or 5m, I look for LUX buy signals, for a hard target of 10 pips. If it doesnt go 10 pips and reverses, then either I already moved my SL to break even or a few pips in-the-money and let the trade hit stop out at break even or a small profit of 1 or 2 pips. If the price action is tight, meaning it never reach close enough to 5-9 pips, and not allowing me to quickly move my SL to break even, and price action goes negative, no big deal, my finger is on my mouse ready to close out if any of the LUX triggers the opposite direction. Hopefully this sucker reverses and im in profit, if not, Ill close out when a LUX triggers goes the other way....

my floating SL when i enter a trade is 1:1 at 10 pips target, but once in trade, I immediately move my SL out of the way, far away, but on the chart so I can move it quickly when I need to. Then during the trade, if i get into profit fast, i move SL to BE or small profit. If after i get into a trade and chops around but never really get near my TP 10 pips, my finger is on my SL ready for a LUX trigger to fire in the opposite direction, in this case, I either hit close-out, or move my SL to price to close out. The amount of the loss is not an issue for me, as i win more than i lose and the losers are not that huge compared to my 10 pip TP, meaning the losses cold be 5 pips, or 10 or 15, but not more than that. As long as I win more than losses, and the losses are close to 1:1 ratio, then im ok

I also trade live directly on TV charts as my broker Oanda is integrated with TV, bonus for me.

Its not perfect, but always improving on this by learning from others as well. I also try to include other non Lux indicators to see if they are a good match to my LUX Algo Premium, which is my bread and butter anchor for my template

Basically, my SL that I move faraway, but still on the chart, is for emergency purposes, in the event my laptop/PC goes down, or my connection is lost, or my power goes out, so in these scenarios, the SL on my chart is also placed in my Oanda brokerage account, thereby if I dont have access to my laptop/pc, then Oanda has my SL on their servers. But my main close-out exit will be my finger on my mouse if the trade goes against me with a LUX signal triggers the other way

If the trade goes opposite right from the beginning or halfway during the trade into negative, when do you decide to let it run longer, and risk losing more, or cut loss. Do you use anything like how many opposite candles, losses in amount, or losses in pips to decide to close the trade at a loss?

Correct, i hold on tight and wait for LUX signal to turn the opposite way. You have to have the stomach for this, sometimes it bounces back into profit, and sometime you take the loss. It is what it is. But I win more than I lose, and you have to manage your R/R and ensure that one loss will not wipe out your past 20 wins, this is a sure way to blow your account. I make sure that my 1 loss is equals to 1 or 2 wins.

I think the lux profile should go back to how it was before in regard to the visual aspect of it and how it was on the left side as opposed to cutting through the candles. It's hard to see when you have the trend tracer and catcher running concurrently. Its looks like a bunch of lines. Sometimes hard to look at. I like the two levels as opposed to several on the previous one though.

The histogram on the left (solid) shows the accumulation of volume within specific intervals, telling you which intervals where the most traded, while the one on the right indicate volatility within those price intervals, telling you which interval was the most volatile 🙂

Hey Alex, I think i wasn't clear in my question, I wanted to get clarification about how and when the confirmed signals are kept in history, because often the behavior is - line breaks (with confirmation) and signal is plotted, few candles later line breaks again with confirmation, new signal is plotted and old one disappears. Sometimes old signal persists though, so how would I know if the signal is correct if it changes in the past? Im guessing it's designed like this

The settings are these, and by looking at the code i figured that it is actually designed to delete old signals when a new pivot or crossover is made. I got confused from the advertisement because I believed all signals are confirmed but appears they get repainted. Oh well

The indicator will not repaint, it is however subject to a length bars delay, as such a break is confirmed after length bars. The lines and labels object are used to extrapolate each trendline to the most recent bar and see if a break occurs, when it does the label previously created trough this method is deleted in order to avoid keeping track of all breaks and only focus on the most recent one. Hope this helps.
