In your documentation you present the case of Tesla buying bitcoin which is detected on the oscillator. Would you not expect a price movement when institutions buy? in the outlined case price is still consolidating.

institutional activity wont mean it will be followed by a predictable or significant price movement, institutions mostly accumulate positions. It is important to remember that an institional activity can be anything from opening a position to closing a trade.

Hi there. I know that the Algo is not perfect but I would like to understand what causes this error. It's a pretty big one. When you see a strong signal you don't expect to go down 1.7% and then get a strong sell signal.

@civic palm I would mostly recommend you to have an additional filters for these signals, you can have more confidence when a signal appear while a divergence has been detected than by having a signal alone. You eventually use multiple time frames to validate signals but this is not an obligation.

However, if these let's say are 30% accurate at calling a top/bottom that can be useful

Because if you use it in confluence with a S/R and you see this signal it gives it more weighting

However expecting high accuracy on something trying to pinpoint a top/bottom is not realistic

the SR lines are meant to be used only with the oscillator, if the main oscillator reach one of the line, without breaking it, it can be a good sign that the price will change direction (either a reversal or a pullback).

Not currently but we can scale it in a 0/100 range without changing its aspect, only the scale would change. This would allow you to set overbought/sold levels

It used to send one buy signal and that's it. Now it repeats it every minute.

i have selected the 4 i am interested (buy, strong buy, sell strong sell) and then went on the alert and selected:

this used to send an alert once per status, for example a strong buy now and then after 30 mins a strong sell

now it sends every minute

in the image above you are using regular alerts, these are not 'any alert() function call'. Once Per Minute will return one alert per minute as long as the condition trigger 🙂 You might want to use once per bar or once per bar close instead.

oh ok... gotcha! went that way cause i was able to write the json comments on the lux algo one. so as long as i send the alert, even once per min i won't have a prob.
do we know if there's a limit on how many alerts trading view can send per min?

We would recommend using once per bar close, its more consistent, with once per bar/minute you might be alerted for a signal you wont see on the chart at the end, if you need one alert per minute you can set the alert on a 1 min chart with once per bar close.

I am not sure there is any limit on the number of alerts one can send, only limit apply to the expiry of an alert, with all plans having an expiration time of two month except for premium who has unlimited alerts durations.

on the other hand, and let's say on an 1h bar chart... if you send an alert on bar close, this will be one alert at 12:59:59. This will make you lose a very solid good signal that happened at 12:11:00 losing the trade. right?

possibly, but in that case it would have been recommended setting that alert in a lower timeframe in order to catch good that signal. The contrary can be true, a false signal can occur before the candle close and would be triggered using once per bar/minute, then at the candle close you can see a good signal.

very responsive oscillators can sometimes go in opposite direction with the price, the main is mostly used for detecting peaks/bottoms/divergences, if you need a good representation of the price you can use the trend area 🙂 Else you can adjust the length setting so that the main osc match price variations.

Hey! I was hoping someone might have some insight into how exactly the "Auto Confirmation Signal Settings" works? I wasn't able to find any info on it from the documentation, could have just missed it though.

The settings changing the support/resistances is S/R significance in advanced settings, you should choose the setting that allows you to catch the support/resistance relevant to the variation you want to trade, for example shorter variation = lower SR significance, for the predictive S/R I will recommend low values, so a SR significance between 0 and 4
