you might need to set two alerts, one like in the img for when the line crossover the blue level, and for when the line crossover the red level simple replace the 0.25 value by 0.75.

To show the indicator value in the msg use the following alert message: Lux Volatility = {{plot("Main Line")}} I think it should work 🙂

you can see in our video how to adjust settings, you should use the one that make you trade the variations of interest, also take into account the time window of your trades, if you want to make shorter term trades you might want to use lower settings in the 1/4h tf.

there isn't much evidence that higher tf are better than lower ones, price is fractal, that is self similar, however lower tf means lower price variations, that is frictional costs such as (spread) can have more impact on your profits. We dont recommend going under 15 min except if you are very experienced or use very high settings in order to trade long term trends.

that should do what you want, you will be alerted once the oscillator crossover 20 and crossunder 80. You can also set individuals alerts using Crossing Up/Crossing Dn.

But it uses dominant cycle periods to generate relatively optimised settings

So it's just for usability if an asset isn't found in optibot it can be used to achieve quite nice settings

Given "Normal turned strong" is now gone from the conditiosn in the main TV alert box, is there a way of specifying the direction in the alert that's sent? Ie. if Normal turns trong buy; would trigger XAUUSD BUY, a sell XAUUSD Sell. Would normally set individual alerts; but the condition appears to \have been remoed from the main TV alert box

I can use {Ticker} to represent the symbol; it's the buy/sell from the Any alert() that'm struggling to extract

Okay for those playing at home; the work around is having multiple charts with LA and the alerts triggering off each seperate chart. Not pretty; but functional. A request to @shy relic would be the re-introduction of "Normal turned strong" alerts as part of the TV alert conditions if possible.

I have a technical question about what drives the alerts. In particular I am using Lux Premium in TradingView and I wanted to understand the way alerts are triggered. I can create a Lux 30min buy alert in both a 6Mo chart and a 1Mo chart using the 30min bar alerting once per bar. Will these both throw the same number of alerts since they are using the same bar timescale (30min), or will they throw a different number of alerts since they were created on the 6Mo and 1Mo timescale? Is the Alert driven by the bar size (30min) and the sensitivity and agility or is it driven by the width of the chart (6Mo vs 1Mo) that may have the same bar size?

Also, how do I get more information on the OptiBots and how the data is ranked? (Popularity, etc.)

Yes for the confirmation signals however if you decide to use both (Confirmation and contrarian) you are still able to customize contrarian.

yep, when auto settings is enabled the confirmation signal algorithm will adjust itself based on the dominant market cycle period, and you wont need to adjust the settings.

optibot will always return the combination of settings that yield the highest profits, they might be more accurate assuming these settings persist in the future, but as you said you might need to adjust these everyday in the case you trade the 5 min tf, auto adjust wont return optimal signals, but will still make your life easier, both have their pro's and cons, I would recommend using auto settings if the signals are not the only thing you use.

when using heikin-ashi, you will get more signals than when using normal candles with the exact same settings, this is a general rule of the indicator, since it will be more sensitive to smoother price variations.

if HA makes your analysis easier then go for it, but when trading the trend it can be unfortunate to have a signal caused by a retracement, on HA this might occur more frequently than on regular candles, you might need to adjust your settings accordingly, using an higher agility value on HA. I always use normal candles, but thats because I am used to it, synthetic prices charts become tiring for some traders over time.

1. Remove all indicators from your chart

3. Clear your cache
4. Log out of tradingview

6. Open a brand new chart
7. Re-add lux

Alerts are triggered once per bar close, this allows to be alerted for signal you will see on your chart, you can eventually use 'once per bar' to be alerted the first time a signal appear on the current candle but you might not see it at the candle close.

A signal is confirmed only once the candle is closed. Meaning a signal could appear on your chart but is not confirmed until that candle is closed and the next candle has started.

Our automated Discord bots will never notify you on any signal until the candle has closed and confirmed it. If you're adding alerts for Lux signals in TradingView - make sure to select "Once per bar close".

You can filter some out with other indicators, e.g. Lux Oscillator too
