Well appart from optibot other methods that comes to mind might be a bit too niche. In any case, while important, over focusing on the settings won't help you, as Peter Brandt recently said The trades you enter count for NOTHING. The only thing that counts is how you exit the trades you do enter., and we have amazing tools such as reversal zones and predictive ranges that can help exit trades quite well. Money management will play the most important role when it comes to trading. Try testing all the tools we have and see what you feel more comfortable using 🙂

both are extremely different chart data types, it would depend on how you want to use them. Something they have in common is that both lag behind the price.

Heikin ashi candles are constructed by averaging price data, they will be smoother than regular candles, note however that HA are considered synthetic prices, they do not return the real price of a security. Renko and HA are meant to make analysis easier, they contain less noise, and are often used to draw support and resistance lines.

Hi, I have my boss' TV open next to mine, and for creating an alert, I can't change the condition from USOIL to LuxAlgo on mine on the right. Any thoughts?

I was experimenting with making an alert when the USOIL price crosses the LWMA (30), but now I can't create a condition of LuxAlgo and not USOIL price.

SOLVED- even saving the chart didn't help. I closed the tab with TradingView, and then opened TradingView fresh, now it offers a condition of LuxAlgo.

There isn't for contrarian currently - the issue with those are they really to try to pinpoint bottoms which is a hard art

So for ranging markets if you're looking for more general zones to enter I couldn't recommend reversal zones enough

not at the moment, but note that it wouldn't be much use, backtesting should be done using more advanced procedures than the one tradingview is giving. But refrain from using the signal alone if this is what you want to backtest, these only give a general direction and do not provide any complete system.

with 3.3 you can set one alert for many types of notifications, eg. all buy and sell signals. (seen the video). But that is 1 alert for each pair you're looking at. how can i make it so that i'm able to set:

1. one alert with same settings and from the alert text i can understand the coin it refers to? this could work with let's say all my watchlist pairs. is that something that can be done?

2. if not, a workaround is a premium trading view account and have 1 alert for each pair?

You can set an alert for multiple alert conditions using all in one alerts, see https://docs.luxalgo.com/lux-algo-premium-indicators/lux-algo/alerts#all-in-one-alert-setup :) The alert message tells you the type of signal + the timeframe, the symbol should be displayed as well, however you can't set 1 alert that will alert you for multiple pairs, you need 1 alert per pairs.

3. when you create an alert it is based on the settings used during it's creation, changing the indicator settings afterward won't affect it.

@red dawn you can't have different pair of settings for different chart symbols, if you switch between symbols the settings of the indicating hour chart will remain the same.

Yes 4h is a timeframe adapted for swing trading, 1h is alright, 15/30 minutes can work but they are considered low.

but if you have a 4h timeframe, doesn't this mean that it might take days to do the sale? and not being able to sell while you sleep can kill your losses. so a smaller timeframe generally translates to smaller timeframes between buy and sell, right?

Not a noobish question :) In general stop losses allows you to stay protected while you are not monitoring any positions, larger time frames are good since price movements are larger, the effects of frictional costs (spread...etc) is minimized, trading price variations in lower time frames can make you trade more frequently, and the spread will affect you more, you will need to be more precise. The time an order is executed is not based on the timeframe of your chart, but on market liquidity.

1 minute is extremely low and I would not recommend using such timeframe, frictional costs will take a good percentage of your profits, as such you will need to be more precise, we recommend 15 min minimum. yr welcome, make sure to learn more abt forex online if possible, there are subtilities that are worth taking into account. Sessions can be important and since the dashboard in the indicator display the trading sessions it can be interesting to use it when it comes to Forex.

Once we have the possibility to find a better position for the dashboard, or to offer more mobility to it, we will update it, right now tradingview does not support this yet. You can always change its locations using the 'dashboard location 'setting', but you wont be able to move it to the left.

just looked at how much I would have made with my strategy and how long it takes for the signals to occur. I would have made 60 cents for about 10 hours of working on the forex. I think before I do that I need to get alot more money to make it profitable lol

in Forex you buy currencies in 'lots', one lot is generally equal to 100 000 unit, so you wont have such small profits/losses variations. Forex allows to have leverage so you can purchase more units, but always select your position size (lot size) by taking into account your risk aversion.

Sensitivity - can be adjusted for reducing noise and decreasing or increasing the amount of signals on your chart. The higher the sensitivity the less signals appear. Best to adjust this first.

Agility - allows our algorithm to avoid ranging markets - behaving like a subset of sensitivity, thus increasing the amount of "Strong" confirmation signals. Optional setting you can adjust once Sensitivity is optimized.
