heya guys, so i have connected my strategy succesfully to pineconnector and the trades goes through but there occurs a problem when the strategy opens a long/short before they other has exited and it then just runs instead of closing. for exmaple here in this pic the alert has opened a long, and then proceeds to open a short (without closing the long) and the exit all only closes the short, and the short entry did not close the long, which the make thee buy order just ruun on looose and never get closed- what can i do to fix this? Just try the backtester on S&O. watched the video and browse the help page. The enter and exit still does not make sense.
Just want to enter with any bullish signal and exit with the build in target price.

The result shows the return is way lower than buy and hold, and I checked the entry and exit, a lot of which do not make sense.

Thats correct, signals are only confirmed at candle close. So if your on say the 1H timeframe, the buy signal may appear when the candle is open with 30 minutes left before that candle closes. But within that next 30 minutes, the signal may disappear if price reverses as it was not confirmed at candle close.

Ideally the backtest should buy after the signal bar and sell when the target price signal appears.

By target price you are referring to your TP then you can make the backtester close at various levels using the 'exit conditions' or 'TPS/SLS' within the backtester

It will not however, immediately take a sell once your TP is hit. It will wait for your short conditions to be true before taking a sell trade

Remember, any alert triggers you may want created, maynot not be possible, due to the way the original script was written, so you would need to experiemnt with Quant, and Quant may need to make changes to the overall script to include any trigger alerts

I am following quant instruction to do something but it does not seem to be correct.

Acording to quant there is a good performing strategy for NQ scalps "CHoCH - Neo Cloud - Trend Strength Trending" I want to put this one on Trading View, and to do so I follow the instructions (as in image popup) However once on trading view this provides all entry signals despite of this specific strategy.
Acording to quant to catch early reversals and use this strategy : a bulish CHoCHo must form while we are on a bearish Neo cloud, / or bearish CHoCH while on bullish Neo Clould.
However I just want the entry to show when this happens, and currently I am getting the generic confirmation + exit signals not following this strategy.

Then I followed the instruction and what quant says is not true I dont get these specific signals!
You see there is no CHoCH formed and I'm getting mixed entries.

So I dont have a way to see this strategy on trading view to take manual entries.

Not sure what you are referring to, but what you are doing here is to replicate the provided strategy that the Ai Assistant fetched for you.
If you would like to have different signals or set-ups, you would need to revise the script in your TradingView Backtester

Yes I want to replicate the provided strategy fetched from Ai. Still when I follow the instruction of the popup - pasting the code snipet into the backtester. It does not change anything.
So what I mean is that these do not change the entry signals provided. As you see in the image this strategy is based on CHoCH still you can see we have two entries (as example) that are not following this strategy no CHoCH there.

I’m using LuxAlgo Backtester S&O 3.2 on TradingView and want to automate trades through PineConnector → MT5.

My goal:

• Entry Long → send buy to PineConnector
• Entry Short → send sell to PineConnector
• TP / SL / Exit / Close → send closeall to PineConnector

Problem:
TradingView only shows one general LuxAlgo alert condition. I don’t see separate alert conditions for Long Entry, Short Entry, Long TP, Long SL, Short TP, Short SL, Exit, or Close.

This is risky because if I create two alerts with the same condition, one for entry and one for closeall, the same LuxAlgo event may trigger both and MT5 could open and close immediately.

Questions:

1. Can LuxAlgo Backtester S&O 3.2 separate Entry alerts from TP/SL/Exit alerts?
2. Can the alert message clearly show whether the event is Entry Long, Entry Short, TP, SL, Exit, or Close?
3. What exact TradingView alert message should I use with PineConnector?
4. If this is not possible, please confirm clearly so I don’t run an unsafe live automation setup.

I am using LuxAlgo Backtester S&O version 3.3.3.

In my settings, both Long TP and Long SL are set to ATR with the same value:

Long TP = ATR 1
Long SL = ATR 1

My understanding is that this should create a 1:1 risk-reward setup, meaning:

Long TP = Entry Price + 1 ATR
Long SL = Entry Price - 1 ATR

However, in the actual backtest results, my losing trades are around 20 USD while winning trades are only around 10 USD. This means the real reward-to-risk is about 0.5R, not 1R.

Can you please clarify:

1. Does setting Long TP = ATR 1 and Long SL = ATR 1 actually create equal TP and SL distance from the entry price?

2. Is ATR calculated differently for TP and SL, or is it based on a different candle, different timeframe, or different execution price?

3. Could spread, commission, slippage, order fill logic, candle-close execution, or intrabar calculation cause the actual loss to be larger than the profit?

4. How can I verify the exact entry price, TP price, SL price, and real R multiple for each trade?

5. What exact settings should I use if I want a true 1R setup, where the TP distance and SL distance are exactly equal from the entry price?

Please explain the exact formula used by the backtester for ATR-based TP and SL.

Hi there, In one of Jacob's videos he says when we set up the JSON payload in the LuxAlgo alert and the TradingView alert, we should put an "M" in the ticker line between the opening quotation and the first bracket to make sure its known I want to trade micro ES (eg. "M{{ticker}}",). I did that, but Traderspost is rejecting some trades because the ticker doesn't exist (its reading the ticker as MMESM2026). Can I remove the opening M from JSON package, or is having that essential for trading micros?

It depends how you've created the alerts as to when it triggers, if you use the highlight on chart bar to visually see when an alert would of been triggered in the form on a blue dot (see screenshot for reference) - this example is using bullish OBs in custom alerts

this refers to the sequence so it depends if you have multiple conditions in your alert. If you just have one condition then keep it as step 1.
So for example say you wanted an alert to be triggered after 2 conditions you could have:
setup 1:
condition 1 - step 1
condition 2 - step 2

setup 2:
condition 1 - step 1
condition 2 - step 1

setup 1) This will wait for step 1 to happen, then wait for step 2 before sending the alert

setup 2) This will wait for both conditions to trigger at the same time before triggering an alert

I’m using LuxAlgo Signals & Overlays in the TradingView Desktop app on Windows, specifically the Alert Scripting Conditions Input Field.

I’m seeing red squiggly underlines under custom placeholder names, for example:

I understand one possible answer may be “you can ignore the squiggles if the script works,” but I’m hesitant to do that because I assume the underlines are meant to help with troubleshooting script errors also. If valid custom placeholders are underlined the same way invalid script text would be, it becomes hard to tell whether I’ve made a real scripting mistake or whether the editor is only flagging spelling/unknown words.

I already tried turning off Windows spelling and autocorrect settings and restarting TradingView Desktop, but the red underlines remained.

• Alert Scripting > Conditions Input Field

Im not sure about those squiggly lines, as it is more to do with your auto correction feature on your computer I assume. Just test out the script.

No. In alert scripting the placeholder is already there if you use alert scripting in Signals & Overlays. You will only use it as an external source if you are using alert scripting in PAC or Matrix Oscillator. Im testing custom script alert and it doesn't work even with this simple always true condition.
I can confirm that other types of alert did show up (e.g Bullish confirmation), but not scripted alert.

Am I missing anything?

Works for me, just tested it now with a 15s alert. Recreate the alert and try again. Remember that alerts once created do not update if you make any changes to your chart.

Not sure what you are referring to now, but our previous responses for you have been resources on what Quant can do to help you write pinescript code for your ideas. If you are having trouble with Quant producing exactly what you need, then you can keep prompting quant in different ways. Have Quant piece together ideas/scripts etc.

As far as your "data mining," Quant can analyze uploaded TradingView charts to help analyze with you, and it can also brainstorm ideas for you as well. It is not specifically for "data mining" your personal strategy or external closed pinescript source. Quant functions on open source scripts of Pinescript. Quant is a Ai-model that focuses on open script with the Pinescripting coding language. It is not a software for "data mining."

Guys whats gong on with Quant? Its supposed to present error free codes but total fail all the time. I just bought new credits for 100USD and Quant is stealing my money prompt after prompt. I really feel totally ripped of here.

And when its not driving me nuts with error codes it simply just dont reply. It say writing code or thinking for 5, 10minutes and then nothing happens.

Hi there - it will never be 100% error free, no AI offers guaranteed perfect scripts every time but it has a higher percentage of correct implementations that other AI models as stated in the documentation.

It could depend on the complexity of the script, have you got a version that is error free? If you have, you could try copy and pasting the error free script into a new Quant chat and prompting it to make the changes you are currently trying to make as sometimes longer conversations can also use more credits due to the AI having to process the whole chat before responding

Yes thats what Im doing right now. Its a quite heavy script Im busy with and Quant seems to just bail out thru the backdoor haha

The heavier the script, the more likely errors will occur. I've found if i'm trying to make complex scripts. I try build each part separately then combine them once i've got all my parts working individually which seems to help but as i say if its a really complex script there can be issues and if Quant is struggling to fix it - instead of just constantly asking it to fix it and waste credits i have a think of how to combat that.

So if a certain part i asked Quant to add caused the issue, id then open a new chat and try build a indicator using just that part then in another chat try copy my working script with the new working part and see if Quant can manage that

It's never going to constantly reply with 100% error free scripts though, would be great if it could but we got to be realistic sometimes and there will be limitations on what it can achieve. But overall Quant is great especially for someone like me with no prior pinescript knowledge

what I've also used in the past, if Quant is having a difficult time with a certain element like liquidity levels in your case. I'd go onto the LuxAlgo indicator library and find a indicator what matches my idea. So in your case look for liquidity levels and then take that code and add it to Quant - tweak it to what you'd like it to include/exclude then see if you can then add it to your ICT indicator and see if that works?

Instead of trying to get Quant to create a liquidity levels indicator from stratct if you haven't already tried that way. You seem to have a similar thought process to me in terms of trying to build indicators though with your steps

I have two sequential conditions, and I want to alert when the second condition triggers. When I run the script, only first condition is alerted. Here is my code:

{cnd1} = {external1} == 1 {cnd2} = {external2} {my_sequence} = {cnd1} then {cnd2} {my_sequence}

Hey everyone, Since joining LuxAlgo, I've tried 2 strategies and they haven't performed at all like the LuxAlgo AI backtesting results say they have in the past. Also when I upload the strategy script to backtest in TradingView, the result there are very different than in LuxAlgo. When I change different variables the results either don't change enough, or are very unattractive (foe example, drawdown is okay but profit is very low). I'm not complaining. I've only been using it for a week or so. This is just my experience so far. My question is are there any best practices for optimizing AI strategies before and after activating them?

As far as I know. I copied the script from Lux Algo, and used the Lux AI for guidance on which features of the indicators to activate. I added an ATR stop loss inside the Lux backtester in TV which absolutely affected outcomes for the last 5 or 6 trades.

For sure. The differences were present right from the start before using the ATR. 20% winrate compared to 60-70% in the backtest. I think the largest loss is double the backtest results. No profit. Again, I'm not complaining. I understand that the strategies need to be tested and optimized and that some strategies work better in some markets than others. I'm just wondering if there are steps or processes that should be followed when testing and optimizing to make sure I'm doing it "right". Or is the idea to change as little as possible and to keep looking until I have a menu of strategies that "work". It's fine either way. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

Hi there - there is no optimal settings for the S&O toolkit, each member utilises the toolkit to suit their trading style and needs. The optimal settings for one member, may not be the optimal settings for another member.

You would need to experiment and see what settings work for you and your strategy

You would create two alerts, one for premium and one for discount. TradingView will remember the settings at point of alert creation. Did you go through the sample alert channels I shared with you?

In your screenshot, you are looking for any liquidity grab whilst in a premium zone.. here is a similar example:
bullish liquidity grab
premium zone

• You can use the highlight on chart bar to see where your alert would of been triggered. As you can see it created a alert because a bullish liquidity grab was produced whilst being in a premium zone (above the EQ)

If you have premium ticked, that means it will only alert you when price is in a premium zone.

I've mentioned this multiple times, you need two alerts for premium and discount, so you'd select your premium conditions and then create the alert. Once alert is created you'd then change the settings in the toolkit to your discount conditions and create another alert. Giving you two alerts one with premium and one with discount conditions

once you've done your premium and created the alert. You would then go back into the indicator and change the premium to discount and create another alert.

Please bare in mind, just using premium/discount only alerts will trigger an alert every candle that is in a premium or discount zone (above/below EQ)

the settings will be saved in the alert, once you've created the alert. You can change the settings in the indicator and it wont affect the alert already saved.
