It seems that the ATR function for Short SL is not working. Trailing or % works. The ATR function also works for Long SL.

Nothing is helpful. Is the number in the market structure is lookback number of bars to find the structure? what is meaning or order blocks and patterns is it number of touches?

When the indicator is completely a blackbox detailed document helps.

I’m seeing some confusing behavior with LuxAlgo Signals & Overlays + ML Signal Classifier.

I have Bullish Confirmation, Bullish Confirmation+, Bearish Confirmation, and Bearish Confirmation+ all enabled, and I’m toggling the ML Signal Classifier ON vs OFF.

What I’m noticing is:

With ML OFF, signals behave as expected based on normal confirmation logic.

With ML ON, some signals get filtered, but both bullish and bearish confirmations (including “+”) still appear and trigger alerts even when they feel unnecessary or out of context, which causes irregular trades in automation.

I was expecting ML to act as a stronger gate, but it seems to approve signals in both directions as long as they’re enabled.

Is ML only filtering signal probability (not direction/context)?
And is the only way to avoid these unnecessary bullish/bearish alerts to disable those confirmations entirely or filter them externally in alerts/automation?

The ML Signal Classifier will not filter any signals unless a subset is selected. For example, only signals 3 and 4 are selected, or 2-4, etc.

Depends on how you are doing the alerts - if you use Any alerts, simply make sure the tick is removed beside the option.

I think it will be better for you to use another method of getting the alerts. Please use Custom alert creator instead (see pic) and remove your Any alert function call options. You will have to create one custom alert for each direction: bullish and bearish.

If you are using these alerts for automation, it would be way better for you to use the backtester alert instead. The issue with using exits with filtered signals is that the exits may not be filtered according to your filtered signals. You will not get that issue with the backtesters.

Good morning, support. I observed another instance of a missed alert which I cannot explain. This is quite annoying as it left an open trade in prod through the night. See in the pic how the opening of the trade went well but the alert of the close last night did not fire even if the strategy marked it on the screen.

The green circle on the side is to show that the opening alert fired while there was not a closing alert on top.

@fading imp , this was running on backtester 3.2.1. Are you testing with the same version and are you guys aware of any related issues as I know you recently updated the alerts engine?

I would prefer we get to the bottom of explaining it rather than just updating on a hope as I run more than 50 setups in production.

I'm running the alerts directly off the chart link you shared so it'll be same version your using. There has been updates to the alert system for alert/strategy scripting but not the GUI.

It's always best updating to the latest version though after patch updates have been issued, i'll still check if it fires okay on my end though but it might be worth updating your Backtesters to the latest version. Had you noticed this problem prior to any updates? It shouldn't affect your version though as its not utilising the strategy scripting.

Will get back to you when alerts fire though and ive checked to cross reference on the chart

Question regarding auto-sensitivity in SO settings. I am confused about what the difference between the short-term, long-term, etc. settings means. I read the docs but am still unsure how changing them would be useful. Does it mean it will give faster or earlier signals? For example, if a confirmation signal is printed halfway through a trend on the long-term setting, if I change it to short-term, will it print the signal earlier in the trend than when the long-term signal was printed?

I’m looking for some help understanding a specific trade execution on the LuxAlgo® - Backtester (S&O) [3.3.1].

On GOLD (1m) at 13:52, the backtester triggered a SELL Short and an EXIT Long simultaneously. However, I am confused by the entry criteria:

My Short Condition: I have Signal Type set to Confirmation / Bearish Classifier with the value 23.

The Issue: There are no "2" or "3" confirmation labels on the chart at 13:52. The Trend Catcher is also visually green at that time.

My Questions:

Why did the backtester trigger a Short entry here if the specific Confirmation 2 or 3 labels weren't present?

Is the "Bearish Classifier 23" setting interpreting the small red down-arrow as a valid entry even without the numbered labels?

How can I set this up so it only enters when those specific Confirmation 2 or 3 labels appear AND the Trend Catcher is red?

Volume Sentiment is not available as a trigger placeholder. But you can use the Volume TradingView indicator within Alert Scripting. Just viewed your chart, its linked to your 'custom alert condition highlighter' and 'alert scripting condition highlighter' - You have them set 'above/below bar'

The default setting for the alert condition highlighter is 'bottom/top'

So instead of the highlight bar appearing at the top/bottom of the chart, its actually appearing top/bottom of the bar candles

No worries at all, it can get confusing at first but it gets easier the longer you spend on the charts and experimenting with the settings 🤝

If there is no blue highlights on the condition highlighter, it either means your conditions haven't been triggered or there is something wrong with your alerts. I'd recommend starting with one condition at a time first until its triggering then adding an additional condition etc

Ahh your talking about using the highlighter as an external condition. The condition highlighter was never designed to be used as an external so it may sometimes work and other times it may not.

I'm unsure what your alert scripting conditions are in the Oscillator Matrix but you could try {external1} == 1 or {external1} > 1 and see if that provides any blue highlights within the PAC toolkit

You'd have to experiment with this

NO, this is a LUXALGO indicator. It would be obvious if you make an indicator, you first try it out, and see if it is working at all! And show or write down the settings. It has nothing to do with Ninjatrader! Another user had the same issue here, wrote it down half a year ago. He received the same useless "solution". Why could you not try it out and show me the settings?

In the 'S&O' backtester, you have the option to select the signal strength [1,2,3,4] next to 'Signal Type'. However, the value entered [e.g, '234'] has no bearing on the signals used if 'All Bullish' or 'Strong Bullish' is selected. What do you need to select from the drop down box to make the backtester honour the numerical values entered in the next field (for the strength of the signal)?

Great. Thanks for that. It seems to me that the 'All Bullish' and 'Strong Bullish' predate the LM Classifier. I wonder why they have been left in the product since the ML Classifier was introduced. I would have thought you would just need a value in the drop down that say's 'Bullish'. If you want all bullish, youwould select 'Bullish' leave the numbers at '1234'. If you want strong bullish you would again select 'Bullish' but this time change the numbers to either '234' or '34' depending on what works best (how strong you want the signals). It just seems a bit confusing having two different ways of selecting the same thing (a bullish signal). But thanks for your response. 🙂

Yes. That's understood. But so is the ML Classifier isn't it? It's all about how many signals are produced - whether you want only the strong bullish (the arrows with the +) or all the signals. But the ML Classifier is doing the same thing but in a more granular way isn't it? My understanding is that the ML Classifier will restrict the signals (arrows) on the chart based on the strength of each signal. So both methods of choosing strong signals only do much the same thing as far as I can tell. It's just that the ML classifier is doing this in a more granular way by giving you more combinations to select from. But as far as I know, it still changes the amount and quality of the arrows (signals) on the chart. (Do correct me if I am wrong!)

For example, 'All Bearish' produces the same signals as 'Classifier' = 1234. It's two ways of asking for the same thing.

Just make sure the hyperwave element is enabled. Which it is as default.

As to whether the tp/sl logic will be filled within the script, i'm unsure as i don't personally use Traderspost. The webhooks may just include: long/short/exit long/exit short when your conditions within the backtester are met without actually filling the tp/sl logic itself in the broker your sending your webhooks too

Ok correct, the AI does not assist in building a strategy for your custom conditions. It was developed for fetching existing strategies. But for your conditions, you just need to experiment with these. If you want, share your chart link and we can take a look at what you have so far

The key is the signals, they need to trigger when all the other conditions are true, during their "trend state"

so you cant use "switch"

you need to use bullish/bearish smart trail, as an example (not switch)

same with trend catcher

Try that instead with your hyperwave.

Dont add the OB's yet
Just try the above to make sure it works

then add the OB condition to test

test out a few conditions at a time, then start to add additional conditions, this way you know what is your hurdle.

Depends on your TradingView plan. Each plan provides a liited amount of historu bars. How many 15m bars in your plan? For the Premium plan, it allows 20,000 bars. So for 15m chart, how many bars?

im not sure what you need here, as I see you have two sets of Lucids enabled, but no scripting, and you have the drop down conditions enabled. What is your set-up?

I’m currently testing a Long-only scalping setup for Gold on the 5m timeframe using the Backtester (PAC) [2.3.2] checkboxes rather than scripting.

My current sequence uses the Step & Match algorithm to filter for trend confluence:

Condition 1: Bullish CHoCH (Step 1).

External 1: Any Bullish Confirmation from S&O (Step 2).

External 3: Money Flow from Oscillator Matrix > -10 (Step 1).

I’m currently troubleshooting why signals are rare; I suspect it’s because the CHoCH and Signal aren't 'matching' on the same bar when using Step 1 for both, so I moved the Signal to Step 2."

you may need to use scripting for this as you have bullish signals equal to bullish signals, this is not going to work, cant have one element equaling to the same element.. But most important, you need to have an exit or its just going to have one continous trade @gentle tartan you also have a preset enable. Just enable the actual element you need.

If you still like to use signals in PAC BT, you can, just use any bull confirmation equal to 1 (use in external3)

You ca have up to 10 tickers, or the same ticker on 10 different timeframes. Can also customise the elements displayed (see screenshot)

Have you enabled the Neo Cloud in the S&O toolkit? that is usually the cause for no trades not having the relevant elements enabled in the toolkits and also not connecting the right LUCID connector
