Hi there, I'm just playing around with the new Backtesting tool. Is it correct that if i activate the external source as a condition filter for the backtest, the system will ONLY use the external source parameter, so i cannot combine it with the lux filters i.e. Trend catcher etc. ??

Thanks ! Thats strange... it shows me buy signals where they should be filtered out...i.e. here Trend Catcher / Neo cloud is filtered for only bullish. Ext. source is Market Cypher. If i uncheck ext. source, the filters work correctly and buy signals disapear.

I would advise against it, TBH. Trading purely base on signals will be a disaster, IMHO. I use alert to notify me of which pair to look up. But it doesn't mean I have to trade them....

Likewise, use Pending Order than Market Order.... this will help you avoid FOMO and reduce chasing the price....let the price comes to you and not the other way around

So yes, this would be my first wishlist for things to be fixed in the next updates for the backtester:

• external sources: at least for market cypher it can't be combined with the internal filters
• adding more external sources would be great
• in styles there should be a checkbox for the "close entry (s) order Buy / Sell text on the chart... its a bit annoying and settings can't be changed anyway.
• backtester and live indicator signals currently not matching with same settings - there should be an option to match the contrarian mode
• TP and SL levels better in % - possibility to add mulitiple TP ?

If I understand the stop loss how it is implemented, the trade is stopped out when there is a loss based on an external indicator. However, I usually think of a S/L more in terms of a dollar or % loss of exposed equity for the trade to be stopped out. Will that be implemented? The external indicator approach assumes the indicator accurately reflects the trend in market which may not be the case.

I would like to have a suggestion. I am a new user to Lux Algo. You have a great product. Congrats for that. However, the thing that disappointed me most was lack of clear strategies on best possible ways to use the tools. I understand you refrain doing this with the philosophy of "we just provide you the tools" which might have its roots on legal, etc. As a suggestion, instead of a "product" oriented vision, you should have a "community" oriented vision with the aim that the community wins with its combined power. Especially, if you would create a Reward Program for those who prove and share the best use of your tools in the form of new strategies, all community will benefit out of it. It does not have to be public, it can live within the Discord community. People are proudly sharing various strategies in youtube everyday, without the tools and Lux Algo. If we all believe Lux Algo is the best and even pay for it, we should be able to get more benefits out of it, no matter whether we can create a strategy by ourselves or not. Please enable people with the right templates to share their best (and backtested) strategies.

@indigo cradle I would like to add this suggestion to have the ability to set session trading times or days limiter to the back tester. This may not be so relevant to crypto, but for stocks, I would love to be able to tell it to not do anything the last hour of the day or the first 30 minutes of the day because those time periods are never accurate for how the rest of the day goes really (so basically tell it to only open and close trades between 10a and 3p. I found some strategies that looks really good, and then realized that the majority of them entered or exited at the beginning, or the end, of the session because of a flurry of activity, which is not really accurate for the overall stock in general.
