imo, the best backtest is on that timeframe which is as close as possible to the average time of your closed deals (which differs from person to person, based on choice of coins, TP, entry conditions, etc, etc).

mine for example is the 4hrs timeframe, and the average time for closing deals is about 7 hrs on a certain set of coins and market conditions.

I look for the oscillator to turn green, trend catcher turn green and then pair it with a RSI/MACD rise to look for entries. Opposite to exit a trade. The buy/sell signals work to confirm what I see, but I don’t enter on those alone. The other option would be to use the reversal zones to try and swing between the peaks when the market is ranging. Hope that helps. The lux video series is useful for starting out as well

Well, that’s in part because all of crypto has been on a steady rise the last few days. So the price stalls out a bit then the pump continues. The “x” is meant as a take profit vs an exit signal per se. It CAN signal the top or bottom, but that signal alone isn’t enough for me. It is a good idea to take some profits and I usually will take 1/3 profit at the first X and then wait and see what happens the next several candles after

@hidden moss @valid willow I made some more observations today. It seems that the exit signal is a good TP opportunity but it’s quite risky to enter an opposite position based on that. I’d say wait until the action signal come out to do that. There could be as many as 3-4 exit signals in the case of crypto.

Those signals are called Confirmation Signals, they help confirm trends with the candle coloring & aren't advised to be used as direct entries / exits like a strategy. Making the signal location closer could lead to more usage of them as direct entries which we don't go for

If you’re trading 1 full lot (100k of an asset), a pip generally has a value of $10 depending on which currency pair you’re trading. A pip refers to the value of the 4th decimal point on everything other than JPY pairs. i.e. 100,000 x .0001 = $10

Its a decent market for shorting. I personally feel its easier to make money shorting than longing. Everyone is FUDding out of their positions to mitigate losses, whereas, even if the price goes up 10%, people are still not happy.

Autopilot short term works well. If you are using the 1/5m timeframes then i assume you are scalping. If that is the case, consider using contrarian paired with the reversal zones to trade the bounces in a ranging market

It depends how you look at it. If you want long on the first two alerts and went out of them on the sell alert you would have losses on them and only the last long would have make profit.

From what ive seen so far from buy/sell signals, if i had bought/sold when signaled i would either be no gain/no loss or down a little bit right now. The signals are just too late most of the time to make any money. The only times where it can make you money would be right before a huge pump because the sell signal will be well over the buy.

Also not always accurate. At times i will see a buy signal and then followed by a drop to a sell signal.

Not for use as entries or exits

They are simply there to confirm a trade you're in that was deduced from other indicators

A signal is confirmed only once the candle is closed. Meaning a signal could appear on your chart but is not confirmed until that candle is closed and the next candle has started.

Our automated Discord bots will never notify you on any signal until the candle has closed and confirmed it. If you're adding alerts for Lux signals in TradingView - make sure to select "Once per bar close".

Yes. Seems to work well in the 1H and daily also. I changed the value to 14 on the estimator but the standard settings work well too.

4 hour is nice gains and saves you from some drops. Use both for confirmation

I've noticed that the premier indicator gives buy or strong buy signals and then there's a reversal that leads to losses. Now it seems this is the consolidation phases and was thinking of using ATR or something to help limit low volume and consolidation phases as it seems the trades during those times are less profitable. You need to find your trading strategy/style . Use different time-frames with different settings. You will see when they fits. I personally set it tight and wait to see directions, in that way you are ahead. Use all tools so you can make better predictions. CHECK THE VIDEOS AND DOCUMENTS ON LUXALGO. PS! If you new to trading, start extremely slow and small until you feel comfortable.
