I feel for you mate, this is my first day usinf the indicator and i va made lods of Dough. I may be luck cos I have3 lots of screen time using other indicators. My advice to you is to pick one or two sectors and demo trade for a couple of weeks, Get to know the market and get to know the nuances of the instument/s. I love Gold Silve and Oil over most Currencies. There is plenty of action with these instrument and you will have enough practice. Oh and make use of Replay on Tradingview. Good luck Buddy!.

Has anyone had the study error issue

While applying the algo on tradingview

Seems like after a while from refreshin the page each time, it'll bug out for some reason

This appears to be a fix ? Fixing 'must have one study() or strategy() ' TradingView error. The 'script must have one study() or strategy() function call' TradingView error happens when one of those settings functions occur more than once in our script. The study() function configures the default settings of an indicator

It worries me that new people assume they can just use the tool to make millions without understanding the basics of how technical analysis actually works. I never use any indicator as a stand alone magic wand. It all about confluence, correlation and confirmation. If you haven't learned the basics of TA and how markets work you should spend some time doing that before you start opening trades. Otherwise you will get rekt. Again, not trying to be a jerk. Just trying to be helpful.

I really enjoy the insights and value brought to the table by the Lux Algo. I would like to understand a little bit more about what would happen in the event of some sort of change in Lux Algo's business. For example, if LA is bought - would we be able to continue using it? If LA goes out of business, can I request a copy of the LA script to be sent so that I could run it on my own if it was so necessary? Do you have the optionality to provide some sort of code escrow in any of these circumstances? Thanks so much.

Well, we plan to stay around long term, we’d never do anything that’d take away the ability to use Lux Algo if you have an active subscription. We don’t see any problem like that occurring any time soon, we also provide open source tools on our TradingView account for the community as well, so we’re definitely sticking around as a provider of tools overall long term!

What is the most appropriate time frame for LUX ALGO to use for swing trades.. I have been use to charting my own S/R and break out patterns to determine a STOCKS movement on the daily charts and then go into smaller time frames for finding a better entry point. but so far I have seen with LUX on lower time frames the BUY/SELL/STRONG can be false positives.. most times the BUY and SELL occur at the same price level after the candle close making the trade unprofitable.. I have LUX set on Auto mode so maybe I am doing something wrong.. Any insights into this would be great.

On higher timeframes, The signal confirmations are months apart which might be great for long positions and short positions but I am finding it hard to use for SWING options trading

Sometimes I used the auto mode and the I switched back and forward the agility and confirmation

I don't believe much in constantly tweaking the agility and confirmation is a scalable model. I am believe of automation and ML hence I use the autopilot mode which is very clever... @solar peak @hidden moss For swing trading the 15 min is a minimum, 1h is often used. The confirmation signals can suffer from ranging markets or from very short and volatile price variations. For ranging markets contrarian strategies are often better.

This is a big step, a trader should only do such transition when earning returns consistently while having everything under control, it requires stability. Think about it carefully before doing the transition 🙂 Use paper trading if you are starting out.

@solar peak it is possible to filter out false signals in different ways, a common one being to wait for the price to reach a specific level in order to trigger the trade, this avoids both potential false signals and retracements trigering a potential stop loss. You can also see if the signal is near a specific support or resistance level, in which case you can expect a bounce, which would indicate that the signal is to take with caution.

Understood but if you look at this example, the volume is there, the bollinger bands and the rsi all point to buys much earlier and Lux did not pick on that, i even put in the optibot info and this is happening much more then just a few times.

Well it was a normal buy signal, not a strong buy signal, and the market was ranging which could’ve been detected using many of our tools

Candles were all purple, not inferring a trending market. You can’t expect signals to perfectly call trends, so you have to pay attention to other tools to understand if the market is likely to be ranging or trending

This is simply the tradingview indicator sentiment tool, it will test for various buy/sell conditions, on depending on their number, will determine if the sentiment is strong/bullish/bearish or neutral.

i noticed the sells come in late for me

like it hit resistance and i saw a downtrend starting but didnt see a sell, so i sold on my own

and when the price fell about 4% after top is when a full candle hit and it said sell

so i was thinking maybe i gotta adjust my sensitivity
