One soft skill improvement on this setup is the past setups/signals get color coded grey and the line lengths are contracted...user interface wise I am working on different ways to keep the chart cleaner and more focused because it is so easy to create meaningful clutter....its harder to provide that same info in a way that doesnt distract from the present moment

Hey guys, noob here, still learning. I'm automating a strategy using webhooks, and I created a simple 'Signals and Overlays' strategy to test things out, but I've run into an issue.

When I use {{strategy.order.action}}, it works fine for Buy and Sell orders. However, when the backtester triggers a 'Scripted Exit', the position doesn't close. My webhook requires specific commands like close_buy, close_sell, or close_all to exit. Is there a way to send one of these commands whenever the backtester prints 'Scripted Exit'?

I thought about using the 'Signals and Overlays' alerts separately, but it only has one 'Exit Signals' alert, and I’m afraid it might trigger an exit for a regular signal while I'm still in a trade from a 'Signal +' (Strong Signal).

Any solutions?

It's very similar to my OB strategy, it's actually going to be a combination of that and FVGs, but trying to get high probablitity FVGs that have only been formed after a sweep of liquidity.

That's what I'm thinking and this is that. The picture above is just using FVGs to scalp, now I'm working on adding OBs into it as I'm seeing that opposing OBs is where these FVG tend to fail and stop out.

This approach I left the OB set to the chart tf and was trading both OB bounces and FVGs but added a setting to only display FVG if it took out a swing point as a “liquidity sweep” type filter. It helped a lot.

In reality I would have stopped long before that

And 40 trades is taking 2 TPs so I was trimming which adds to the number of trades. I only trade NY session so no idea how it would work in others. When I’ve used OB trading in the past it doesn’t seem as strong with the lower volume sessions

This is also based on $200 risk
So every trade is sized for that to be my max loss.

This was purely 1 min tf OBs and FVGs

The key is filtering out weak FVGs as I noticed that ones created without grabbing liquidity failed more often

And also not taking trades when opposing OBs or FVGs are too close as it would many times cause a stop loss hit.

The FVGs are also shown with a volume profile within them so it tells you how much volume created the FVG, if they were too small or lower volume you can chose not to take as well.

This tends to occur if your chat conversation gets a bit long, in this case, just copy and paste the latest script into a new chat to continue the chat. Also it might occur if you are runnng low on credits and not enough for the next prompt (depends on the depth and the complexity of your code and what the next prompt would need to recalcute for your new prompt, etc......) Try this to see if it helps.....

Works well in ranging markets as even xau seems to respect OB levels fairly. I do use some of the S&O settings but generally indicators or MA average are more indicative then anything useful. When its trending I dont need anything, just join the party.

Guys, I need help! I need to create an alert based on custom conditions in S&O (the diamonds are highlighted on the chart). How do I do this? Backtester has an option to add this from S&O, right? Thank you! The most important thing for me is to keep the message window empty when creating an alert in TradingView, because that's where I write webhook commands. If I can create alerts for specified custom conditions (blue diamonds in the chat) without Backtester, that would be great. I created these "entries" in S&O, linking other indicators to them ( with externals)
