in my opinion, any amount would do to get started and learning, as brokers these days offer initial account size as low as $50-$100 I think, then you can always practice on demo practice accounts as well......

this is my 3rd year in trading, and luckily for me I have never invested more than I could afford...it would have ended horribly as it did for many of my other friends

it's just that, modelling on $100 shows promising results, though that is 100% allocation of the capital. So increasing to say $10,000 capital goes against many rules of not trading with more than 2% of the capital

yeah, everyone is different
keep trading on $100 or $1,000 and dont focus on the amount of money you made, just focus on the wins/losses and percentage gains/losses, then when ready you can deposit more and just leverage up your positions and dont change the way you trade.

Dear LuxAlgo members,

I have recently gotten my account hacked, and they released crypto scams to everyone in my DMs and in other servers.

My deepest apologies.
I found a small trading community and they hosted a video call and I joined in. I thought I was having a connection issue so I restarted and solved a captcha to “verify my account”. Issues persisted, I went to the gym, and mid set everyone was messaging me about my ‘scam’.

This was diagnosed and verified using AI, so this is also a post to spread awareness.

I hope that this also prevents others from making the same mistake.
The discord server that has been doing this has been reported.

I always start with 19. I never go higher. For HTF charts it works great. If you really want to dial it in, start at 19 and then go down 1 by 1 until the signal seems to fire when it would be most helpful. I never go below 10. For large caps it's usually 16-19, but sometimes a 10-12 will surprise you. Once you find the best stting for the particular ticker and time frame, you don't have to change it again. At least not for a long time.

You probably have "auto" enabled, this will only plot at "session" start which is 18:00.
Uncheck "auto" and then it will plot user defined times

Then, Coinbase flagged my account for "suspicious behavior". I only use Coinbase to send Crypto. I had to go through their KYC process AGAIN to get my damn money. It is REALLY a pain going legit. 😂

@old crow Yes, perpetual Crypto futures. I trade S&P futures during the day as time allows at my day job using Tradeovate. In the evenings, I was using MEXC for Crypto futures but had to use a VPN out of Australia (I have family there). Nonetheless, I got flagged. Binance and Bybit are available in some U.S. states but not mine. I ended up test driving BYDFi and like it so far. The interface is very similar to MEXC but a bit more clunky.

@old crow Finding a U.S. crypto futures broker that is not Conbase was hard. Haven't tried Kraken yet. I am at the point where I am making money consistently and really need to be above board (reports to IRS). The downside is substantial if you get audited.

The barssince_step placeholder could be used in alert scripting for your "within 5 candles" requirement. It tracks the number of bars elapsed since the last step change or invalidation in a sequence.

For your use scenario: (liquidity grab → trendline breakout within 5 candles), you could write something like this in Alert Scripting within the PAC toolkit:
{bullishliquidgrab} = {bullish_grab} then {broken_downtrendline} ! {bullishliquidgrab.barssince_step} > 5

• Step 1: A bullish liquidity grab occurs
• Step 2: A downward trendline is broken
• Invalidation: If more than 5 bars pass without the trendline break, the sequence resets

You'd have to experiment with this, as i haven't tried it and it may be very rare a liquidity grab and then trendline breaks happen within 5 candles
