I am getting to the point where I don’t think I can figure this out and want to throw in the towel, but I thought I need to give this a real fighting chance and ask for some help. Any advice, direction to a simple strategy, direction to get some knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Few things here.
First, you can build a great strategy, based on your trading style, and you can trade this successfully with a regular cash brokerage account. The problem is, when you migrate this to a prop firm, your trading style does not come into play much. You must build a strategy based on the prop firms rules, and not so much based on your trading style. Can this be achieved? absolutely it can. You just need to understand your chosen proper firm rules, and create a strategy based on their rules. Just my opinion and experiences. trust me i know how you feel. couple questions is it your strategy or is it you? When i first started i would revenge trade if i lost and would end up blowing accounts left and right. secondly what do you look for when entering a short or a long. and do you protect your capital or chase big wins? I personally like using the ML classifier signals and only have '3/4' visible and also use the auto pilot feature: Long Term. You'd just have to experiment with different optimal sensitivity settings or trying the auto pilot feature if you haven't already done so

Hello Danny! Yes, I’ve tried it, but it just gets way off. Something that I noticed is that on the S&O the contrarian presets, doesn’t seem to vary by changing the sensitivity, it’s like it’s set to a default.

Would be great to have a delay built in before a signal is fired, trying to avoid any HFT issues with the broker.

I haven't really traded the contrarian presets, i tend to stick to confirmation signals. I like combining the toolkits too such as S&O and PAC for example if a buy signal in generated but there is a orderblock sitting right above it, id rather wait for price to break and retest that orderblock before entering in the buy

Yes, I do the same. Only stick to confirmation signals, but since I was trying so many high sensitivity levels (25-50) was checking out the contrarian for that reason only 😅 lol. I was doing the same, but my eyes can’t take it anymore 😫 trying to switch to algo instead of manual, or at least, 50-70% algo, the rest manually.

Could you please point me towards the ML classifier documentation, I will read it again, I think the only way to have the strategy working is choosing only 3 and 4. Or maybe only one.

Also, this can be a challenge as markets are fractal(s), so on lower timeframes below 15m, can be a bit noisier than higher timeframes, so in my opinion, doesnt matter what your settings are, you cant change the fact that the fractals are many on lower timesframes. It is best to observe higher timeframes if you would like less fractal(s), less noise. Just my opinion.

All my previous ones broke down mercilessly because I didn’t take the construction methodology into account. In this version, almost arrived at that methodology through trial and error. Haven’t developed the short side yet, only finished the long side. It has many filters and doesn’t enter trades where it shouldn’t. I’ll finish this version based on my current trial-and-error understanding, and the next one I’ll build properly, following the methodology. Something like that. 😄

Current significant mistakes - fixed stop loss (need % stop loss, or based on ATR, or based on indicator. This method will allow to live over long months/years). Multiple exit conditions should provide sustainability, but due to previous mistake it wont lasts long

All indicators with entry methods should also be based on dynamic values, and if SMC is used, there must be support from S&O; otherwise, this creates an unstable model for further usage.

Well in other words... Automated backtesting its also science, same as manual trading.... need to learn and learn 😐 tough will be easier hehe

It can be hard learning to trade at first, there is no easy way to learn other than practice and try find what works for you and work doesn't. Such as are you more suited to fast paced scalp style of trading or prefer longer term swing trading.

Id also recommend you start on a DEMO account first to practice instead of risking actual money and not to compare yourself and your results to other traders as you don't know whether they've been trading years or not. Its best to be consistently profitable on a DEMO account before venturing into trading real money

No one becomes a good trader overnight, it takes time and patience.

Hi everyone, do you know how I can link a Pine Script strategy to MetaTrader 5? Here's some background: I created a small scalping strategy in Pine Script v5 with ClaudeIA, and it works pretty well with a return of 3% to 5% per month. The problem is that I would like to put this strategy into MT5 and run it through a prop firm challenge. If anyone knows how to do this, I'd love to hear from you. Thank you.

Yes you can run a Pine Script strategy (from TradingView) in MetaTrader 5, but you can’t run the Pine Script code directly in MT5.

If you have a great scalping strategy that goes for $100-$200 per trade (or a few ticks/pips), then prop firms may be the answer. But if you have the trading style to go for larger wins, then I believe prop firms will eat you alive, one eval after another

You can try different data providers, but you will find the results sometimes won't be identical to what the AI suggests as its getting them from different data providers. It's only if the results are wildly off such as AI suggesting a high profit and on tradingview its a massive loss.

if you copy the strategy script and it produces trades, you've correctly loaded the AI strategy. It's only when it produces no trades its likely you havent enabled the relevant features or connected the LUCID connectors wrong

Due to calculations being sensitive to data differences, our Drawdowns calculations are based on realized profits/losses, which is not the case on TradingView, this can explain why certain differences can be observed.

Meaning the DD calculations on the AI assistant will be different from the DD calculations on TradingView. I believe TV calculates it based on the total balance

its personal preference and what type of strategy you have, if you have a scalping strategy that takes multiple trades a day - a few months may be fine for some members. Whereas if youve got a swing strategy only placing a few trades a month, theyd prefer doing a longer backtest.

yeah I've built a scalping strategy focused on eurusd and it looks like it has an edge when tested over the last 2.5 years but when I go back to 2020-2022 period, it's not much profitable

i tend to trade 1-5m timeframe so i only backtest a couple months to get an idea of how its performed then i monitor my strategies daily and watch price action, im more of a manual trader though as opposed to a automate type of trader.

I'm on charts majority of the day so it suits me whereas i know some people are busy with work or other real life stuff so don't have chance to be actively on the charts all day

I feel like automated strategies will always need tweaking now and again to suit the current market conditions as one strategy isn't going to be great all of the time
