Thanks Micky, I've taken a better look around, particularly at the 'must see' section and certainly impressed. At this stage I have asked GPT if it can assist me in my journey, ultimately building some charts to provide alerts at entry points. then use the backtester function to ensure profitable outcomes from the best timeframes of my alterts. I am fairly novice so have requested that it start with simple charts and develop it further over time. Do you think this is a sensible approach?

I would suggest to get familiar with our toolkits the old fashion way, by viewing our videos and studying our documentation, as opposed to to relying on ChatGPT. Just my opinion. Then you can manually create and optimize your chart for your analysis. Chat GPT will never know your risk tolerances or your trading style, or what is in your head as far as personal issues or stress levels. These are key to your trading style. Hope this helps

It really just depends on how you analyze the chart and what timeframe the chart is

If there is a large fair value gap on a smaller timeframe, but on a higher timeframe, it could be very minor so it really depends

Also, please note that some traders these use gaps as key levels and some traders do not focus on them.

I’m currently following a structure-based strategy during the NY session, and I’d love your feedback on it. Let me know if there’s anything you’d improve or if I’m missing something important.

Here’s what I do step by step:

1. I first check the H1 or H4 market structure — I only trade if the range is clean and directional.
2. Then I look for a fresh M15 Order Block (not mitigated, with a Fair Value Gap inside, and located near a clear inducement).
3. During the NY open (starting 9:30 AM), I wait for a clean liquidity sweep (session high/low).
4. Right after the sweep, I want to see an internal CHoCH form.
5. That CHoCH should create a new FVG — I wait for price to return inside that FVG.
6. I drop to M1 and look for confirmation (either a strong rejection candle or a micro CHoCH on M1).
7. If it aligns, I enter the trade. SL is placed just beyond the sweep, and TP targets the opposite liquidity zone.

I only take trades that are super clean, and I stay within the NY session window (9:30 to 13:00 NY time).
Let me know if there’s anything I could improve, optimize, or add — I’d really appreciate your input

There is alot going on here, as honestly, I would need to see these steps in a chart format, hard for me to visualize this.
But, I can tell you have though this long and hard.
Which is great, the key is to back test, and have the confidence to continue to take these set-ups, regardless if the recent entry was a loss.

Test out timeframes and settings. Just depends on the symbol and timeframe. Zoom in and out as well, once they are visible on the chart, then that is a good starting point to optimize it further.

Hey, I got a question about the strategy tester and its results when using a pine script program.

Is the profitable trades % accurate when using high RR strategies? I tested my strategy and saw that the win % didn't change much when I changed the RR to something crazy, like 20, so I was confused and checked the list of trades. I saw that some of the trades were exiting at 1-2 times the risk, which means that the program isn't exiting at the right places (TP/SL). This is making me second guess my strategy and I am not sure if I can trust the results from deep backtesting.

btw I am not sure if it changes anything, but the results were on MNQ1!. The stats were: 18.91% wr, 1137 trades, 12.11% max drawdown, 20 RR

It feels like all of the trades were exiting at random points, which confuses me a lot

Regarding Gradient or Regular Candle Coloring - Signals & Overlays

• There have a been a few questions regarding these colors not appearing correctly.
  When you have multiple indicators (not just LuxAlgo) that have gradient coloring in the code, there will be glitches.
  So what you need to do is create a new chart, add SO's then PAC both at default, then change SO's to gradient, do not touch PAC candle coloring.
  Then this should work and show SO's gradient with PAC overlay
  Try this to:
  Add PAC default first, dont touch any settings in there.
  Then add SO's, then change to gradient.
  If this works, SAVE the template
  (sometimes we need to change the order a few times until it catches)

It is inside your chart settings. What you wanna do is right click on the price axis and "scale price chart only."
This should do the trick.

Probably those orderbloacks have been removed from your chart as they were mitigated

You would need to bar replay to see it in real action

Not sure if I understand, if the alert occurred, then the OB was mitigated per your alert settings, and the OB is removed from your chart. That is how your alert intended to function.
Or you are refrring to something else?
