My noobish first post here... I'm starting my venture here and really hoping to sharpen my trading skills with the awesome collection of LA premium tools. I've started with the S&O backtester and I need a clarification please.

I trade in the HST timezone and my available time on console is between 18:00 UTC and 08:00 UTC (8AM -10PM HST). Is this the correct filtering setup for the backtester long/short session times?

I think the times are landing correctly in the TV chart as it's displaying my regional timestamps.

From a few web searches about BTC, it appears that using UTC is correct (each block has a Unix timestamp)

To clarify, session is not just based on a symbol, but on the symbols exchange timezone.
So whichever broker you use for BTC, that is the timezone you would use.
Also, BTC does not trade on a centralized exchange.

All of the alerts are firing correctly. The positions are opening and closing correctly on my account. My exit long and short TPS are set to take 10% off every time it closes in a reversal Zone. Those alerts are firing correctly but it's not actually taking a 10% off in my account. So I am either putting the commands into Lux I'll go wrong or I have the commands wrong to begin with from where I am automating. I am trying to figure out where I am wrong at

If my commands are in the correct spot in the pictures above then my problem is with my trigger ID in my bot. I'm just not 100% sure my trigger IDs are in the correct spot

For candle coloring confirmation, yes

Custom alerts, with using bar color value for external, you can take a look at the data window for the green +1, purple 0, red -1, values

In custom alert, you would need to add a 2nd instance of Signals and Overlays, one will call the other.
One color (green to purple to red) will cross the other color. Purple to Green is "crossing 1." Purple to red, is "crossing -1."

"👉 In the Community Streams, I often talk about the Premium/Discount Zones, or the Strong/Weak High/Lows, in the Price Action Concepts toolkit:

Premium/Discount Zones
Strong/Weak, High/Lows

Remember, these two anchor levels (H and L, premium and discount) are from the most recent swing points, so the metrics at these levels are from that structure, but of course price can still bust up or down.

But the further it busts up, we know sooner than later, this will come back down.

So these metrics gives us clues on how much further it can go. Its like how long do we want to hang onto the move, or do we really want to jump in now?, at the risk that the move could be over anytime soon. Just something to think about when you are entering or managing a current position.

I see, my strategy involves 5 EMAs with periods 10, 25, 50, 100, and 200, for long trades I wait for the moving averages to stack least to greatest period, starting from the top, if price closes above all moving averages I take the trade, and for shorts I do the opposite, greatest to least, and if price closes below all moving averages, I then use an RSI and MACD to determine when to exit

I'm still testing it out on the crypto market, and so far it seems to be working

I just wanna know how valid this strat is, I lack the experience to be able to tell

Not sure if this is possible, but I'm trying to backtest S&O when Smart Trail, Trend Tracer and Trend Catcher are all aligned (Bullish or Bearish) for entry conditions. Two of these to change state for exit condition. Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Try using an external source using S&O custom alert condition, set up your exit conditions there. See if that works.

I have it setup through Cornix using Custom Alerts with varied results on different TF's. Which is why I went back to the backtester to refine the strat and see reults quicker...

You can monitor the Backtesters live moving forward in real time.
As far as performance in your auto trader into your brokerage, this I would not know as there are a few external factors that are not within LuxAlgo's control, such as the 3rd party servicing software and how quickly your brokerage takes these TV webhook messages for execution. Hope this helps

Here’s the thing, these are separate indicators with different algorithms. No two indicators will mimic each other 100%

So you just need to create a good confluence strategy for you. For me, I would keep it simple and just have Signals and Overlays on my chart, no reason for me to use multiple indicators with buy/sell signals

ive not really been able to use lux algo tools for over 2 years sub i have on it

with the backtesting stuff on the ai backtest are not relatively close to what in tradingview backtesting tool returns, also the signal "exits" how are they exits even created when i try to backtest with signals and distance 5 it isn't the same

The built in 'X's will match the backtester if your settings in the S&O backtester match that of the S&O toolkit. If you mean in terms of the SL/TP element then the toolkits built in TP/SL element within the Backtester are calculated using ATR with a period of 200 bars and a multiplier defined by the number that is in the TP/SL settings. If the multiplier is 5 in the toolkit, then:
TP1/SL1 is calculated in the Backtester as ATR = 2.5
TP2/SL2 is calculated in the Backtester as ATR = 5

Unfortunately closed source but based on how I trade using 1) momentum 2) volume 3) liquidity 4) structure /sr zones. Basically a combination of those for confirm. My main parameter has honestly turned to neo lead/lag switch. Damn good just by itself. Hence master @old crow loves it 😉

Honestly, it’s really that simple. Set it to 2 and base your bias on x 3 HTF and take trades in the bias direction on 5min. If you got one wrong, you probably fighting the htf trend 🙂
