Two steps, create the trigger condition alerts on your chart, you can verify with the highlight bar on the chart. Then you can create and save the notification alert in the TV alert panel.

The reason I say this is that bookmap has some trade management tools that help, but I still have to get better at entries. Market orders get me in too late so I’m setting my limit orders at 30 sec VWap

Could somebody tell me how i use a custom alert scripting code in S&O in the S&O backtester. So actually when the Alert scripting highlighter shows that the backtester picks that up as buy or sell signal

So basically when the scripted alert triggers the backtester uses that as entry signal. Since the backtester doesnt have the alert scripting input field i need a way to backtest my custom alert

If you are not into scripting, here is a tip/trick: add another PAC to the chart, then set your FVG's to a different timeframe, and change the colors. This is what I do with orderblocks, I have different color combo's for other TF OB's on my chart. I have two sets of PAC

Pips/ticks measurements are always different depending on how many bars you have visible on the chart, timeframe of charts and how you set your price axis. All relative visually.

Just test each step before you add another script step
So for this condition, it works.
Now you just need to create the label and the alert message, correct?

If you test on a completed script, and it doesnt work, it will be hard to find out where the error could be.

So next step, I would create the @label, and see if that works.
If that works, then you create the @alert notification message

One step/script at a time......no rush

Labels have nothing to do with "step" functionality.
At the moment, "steps" are not possible, thereby labels on the steps not possible.
If "steps" would be possible in the future, then the labels will automatically be possible.

You can script any label for most conditions or elements within the scripting, as long as the scripting works.
So at the moment, "steps" does not work in scripting.

I am not sure now, because I assume you needed a final label, for a set of step conditions, which we cant do yet....

even though native "steps" aren’t supported, you can structure conditional logic sequentially define intermediate conditions as variables and let the alert trigger off the final composite

it’s not literal step execution, but functionally equivalent if you order your logic cleanly

something like:
`let step1 = conditionA
let step2 = step1 and conditionB
let step3 = step2 and conditionC

alert if step3`

you’re just abstracting each logical gate as a "step" same deterministic flow if the engine allows scoped vars, that’s the cleanest workaround until native step support lands

Use it with other conditions, never use it blindly unless you think these break out levels coincide with some other elements within your strategy, such as market structure concepts

Just using break outs levels is just trading random price levels in my opinion

Yes, enable Candle Coloring Confirmation Simple, then go to chart settings to turn off borders

I can’t find the section that allows me to change the borders. Under candle coloring I have signal colors colors and candle colors, but nothing else.

Hi Micky - I want to create alerts for when price reaches a significant level (swing high/low, PDH, PDL, PWH, PWL) and then I have other factors like FVG but i can't seem to find options for significant levels in the alerts. I found the BOS but no options for PDH, PDL etc.. would I have to custom this?

Hi, I’d like to clarify some confusion I have regarding how to properly use the Signals & Overlays system — especially the difference between Custom Alert Creator and the Conditions Input Field.

1.Are the Custom Alert Creator settings (steps, signal selection, etc.) and the Conditions Input Field two separate systems? Or are they connected in some way?

2.If I write conditions in the Conditions Input Field (such as {signal} and {external1}), do I still need to select "Custom Alert Condition" when creating the TradingView alert?

3.Or does this alert logic work internally, without requiring a TradingView alert to be set manually?

4.For the actual alert message content — if I want to include values like {tp1} or {sl1} (just as an example), should I insert them directly into the message field? Or does that depend on the alert logic I’m using?

I’m really sorry if these are basic questions — I’ve reviewed all the official videos and documentation, but I’m still a bit confused. I just want to make sure I’m not missing a step and that I’m setting it up properly.Also, I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask these questions — if it’s inappropriate to ask here, I sincerely apologize.And if there’s already a specific article or video that clearly explains these things, I’d be very grateful if you could point me to it. {sl1} and {tp1} are for any alert, you can check the placeholders in the documentation.

best I can advise is to experiment and see the outcome

Thanks for the clarification. I have a follow-up question about the alert timing and structure.

From what I understand, when using Any Alert, the alert triggers only on candle close, correct?
But I’m actually trying to avoid alerts that only fire at the close of a candle — I’d prefer alerts that trigger as soon as the conditions are met, even within the live candle.

Also, just to confirm:
If I use {tp1} and {sl1} — they can only be used inside an Any Alert() with alert scripting, right?
And does that mean I'm limited to candle-close alerts when I want to use those placeholders?

I’d love to experiment more on my end, but I’d really like to understand the underlying logic before doing so. Appreciate your help!

signals are confirmed at the candle close, if you want an alert to fire while the candle is forming then you will need to take the custom alert route.

everything else is on candle close via any alert()
