Hello. If anyone can help or advise as in how close or far away from the SMART TRAIL should I be trailing the SL?
Current the Smart Trail is set at '3' on my chart and at times I see that price breaches it momentarily than flips back up.

Its all personal preference really, if you've found through back testing that sometimes price breaches it before flipping back up then maybe you could try trailing your stop a few pips below the smart trail for that extra breathing space. Just in case price does momentarily breach it.

As I say though its all down to the individual trader on how they use the elements within the S&O premium toolkit. There is no right/wrong way to use the elements within our toolkits. Backtesting over a period of time helps us better optimise how we use them features

There is no perfect SL to grab each tick/pip of any move, but we do the best we can, with trade management

Another option could be aim for the next order block above/below your trade

Is it possible to add a variable for an external indicator on the custom alerts? I have some moving averages which are listed in the "Oscillator Matrix" script in the alerts section as external condition but I have been unable to output an alert from it using the MA.

There is normally a " at the end of 4 btw.

you can add a variable from an external indicator if the variable is made available for external use.
to test if it works, I suggest you keep only the external condition on, and look at the highlight on the chart and see if the alert would trigger, then add your other conditions & combine them.

in terms of reading the data, I am not sure if this is possible or not (it's an external value not LuxAlgo, so I cannot advise on this)

It comes up fine with the Lux Algo variables but not if I use an external indicator. Instead, it shows the variable as "Buy @ {{plot("MA 4")}}" rather than the value.

as far as i'm aware, to call the plot values from the data window you need to create a custom alert and call it from there. the first 20 plots are available to be called.
you are free to experiment this on your own, but I don't think it's possible.

@old crow I've been laser focused on trying to learn futures trading for over a year now. Specifically ES. Trading prop firms and being forced to day trade has been tough. I've had some improvements over time. I've passed a few challenges and then lost the accounts. Some of this is my own fault and I think some of it is due to the tough rules prop firms have. I'm really starting to wonder if I'd be better off considering more of a swing style of trading since market structure concepts speak to me the most. I see how patterns are more apparent on the higher timeframes and how the LuxAlgo toolkits can help there. Since you're a swing trader...I'm curious if price action is smoother / more predictable / more structure in the forex markets?

you can do swing trading with prop firms technically, however you will be forced to close 1hr before market close (but you can reopen the trade when the markets open back up)

That's an interesting idea. Now that you mention, I have heard of that process as a way to swing trade futures with prop firms.

you're basically losing 1 hour of trade a day (and the weekend of course), but last hour of the day nothing happens unless there is big earnings reporting

Right. And with some prop firms (like Apex) you can technically trade that last hour if wanted to...you would be forced out of your position until the market actually closes.

I've noticed this before with PAC that the Highs and Lows MTF doesn't plot correctly depending the chart interval. For example, right now on MES if you change between the 30s and 1m the PWH is drawn at different prices.

Might be the limitation of your TradingView data history availability to plot the correct levels as 30s chart has a lot of bars to go back to previous week. I don’t believe we do have the correct amount of bar history for this

Makes sense. It's not all that often I use 30s chart. But...it would be nice if the bar history wasn't there to support calculating the level correctly that the PAC toolkit didn't draw the level on the chart.

I typically draw these levels myself, it doesn't take me much time to do. I figured since the toolkit could do it for me I would use the feature. It caught me off guard trading today when I based a decision off of the level it drew. I will probably just go back to draw them myself going forward. Just wanted to let you guys know in case there is something that can be improved.

I am in my fourth year of trading being my primary income. I am indeed a stable, profitable pro trader. My most profitable period was my very first 10days without any prvious knowledge I went from 1000$ to 15000$ scalping swing lows on bitcoin with 10x leverage on 1m timeframe. I then lost it all buying the dip on the first 25% retracement i experienced. I been profitable my entire trading career, but have had some bad periods in crypto which led me to XAUUSD which is my main focus now.

I trade market structure and use SMC concepts for confluence and liquidity. Using 2 layers of the PAC indicator so i get OB´s from both 4h and the chart TF where i mostly trade 3-5-15m TF. I also use the trendtracer and stoichastic and the oscilliator matrix. The oscillator matrix also has an equivallent to the stoich but I am still only learning to read it. The real trick to my trading is my risk/trade management style that works excellent with rangeing assets. I use hedging, 2 way trading with multiple positions a lot and take profits aggressivly

no, i was tradeing on the default chart in bybit from absolutely knowing nothing, just seeing a trend in swings. I have later developed that strategy a bit furter but never using it anymore as it was mentally way to draining. I was also very lucky with finding bitcoin at a time where that "strategy" worked exceptionally well

the risk is the same! But if it runs from original entry you are only 0,5 position size

if all 3 are triggered you can take out about half at original projected profit and still have half a position in play, no risk!

You can use the Price Action Concepts element Premium/Discount zone to identify where these areas are.

BoS is a break an another leg within same structure (bullish or bearish).
CHoCH is a change in structure from bullish to bearish and viceversa

• you use BoS to follow a trend
• you use CHoCH to look for reversals

Please bare in mind that just because price is in a Premium doesn't nessicarily mean it will automatically go down to the Discount level. We have to build confluences up in our technical analysis and have good risk management when in a trade.

Trade idea example
Price is at Premium level
Bearish CHoCH produced
Bearish FVG created

Price pulls back to the bearish FVG in the premium zone after a bearish CHoCH is produced. This is how you build confluences, you now have a number of confluences stacked in your favour and increase the likelihood of it going in your direction.

If you trade straight of the choch you will get F´d a lot. A bearish choch will put the expectation to look for low and a reversal of trend. But a liquidty grab or sweep will very often create a Choch. So use the choch to change bias and look for other confirmations to trade in your direction. that could be a retest of a bearish FVG

There is no way or trick to create a 100% winning strategy, its just not going to happen. If there was a way then everyone would be rich and anyone who claims to have a 100% winning strategy is lying.

There is a reason 90%+ of people who trade lose money and thats because it is hard and there is no holy grail to become profitable. It just takes time and dedication like any other job to learn and become consistently profitable trading.

Don't feel like you have to use all the elements in all the premium indicators on your chart. Are you more of a price action type of trader? or more of say a buy/sell signal type of trader?

More of a Price action trader. I mostly use liquidity, FVG and Order Blocks for trading. Since, US market is kind of new for me, I want to use LuxAlgo indicators to get better confirmations. I mostly trade 15m TF with entries on 1m.

The indicator is loaded on your chart and I can see it

Change the symbols in the settings, try different chart symbols, etc
