The general rule is no more than 2% of your balance per trade. However, I would go a step further and say put that money away and just trade paper for a year. Practice with virtual money you have plenty of time. Building capital to actually trade when ready is hard because most people go broke before actually clicking.

I get that and that's great advice, however I'm not going to take it because I'm set on trading. I work a sales job and make more than enough money as a college student so I am constantly saving and adding more to the investment account on top of wanting to do this now.

Kind of a loaded question. A SL is a good way to incorporate a long term risk/reward strategy… ensuring your losses are smaller than your wins… they also protect you when trading in undefined risk (aka naked) but it leaves you open to being stopped out and some strategies are built without it or by using defined risk.

It’s something you will have to figure out what works for you

Scalping is fun, but I think it is the most challenging way to trade, but it can be done.
You just need to really place focus on emotions and trade management.
For me, to be safe, I like 15m for scalps. I can scalp on 1hour as well.

So whenever something is flooding the news sites and social media I pay attention to when non traders make any mention of the market

and that's normally a contrarian opportunity

when my neighbor who never trades was telling me he bought dogecoin I saw it crash within the week

when a coworker asked me about inflation causing a crash end of October last year it was the very bottom

Then i saw some posts about research people have done on news headlines during bottoms.. the market crashing and all kinds of bad news is ALWAYS being pumped up by the media at bottoms.

And the unstoppable market and good news on the horizon is always the headline before a crash

we hit 18560 on NQ soon

then from there i don't know, either the market is balanced enough again for the next leg down

or the short cover rally begins

either way ill scale out of my longs mostly there and leave a runner and get ready to switch if need be

great trading with yall today love when i can work remote and day trade

now that we took out the stops on the long side i would expect a move back up but the timing will be rough so will wait for a lux algo confirmation

if anyone is curious i took the trade based on mutliple inputs. Mainly the LuxAlgo Break of Structure signal and Call order block. I was long up to this call order block where this white arrow is. Once we hit the order block I saw the Break of stucture and knew the market loves to come down and take out stops before attempting to continue the break out. There was also a rising wedge formation wise. and the 4 horu chart still had not changed to "bullish trend" which told me playing the BOS retest short from that call order block was a high probable trade.

all in all i didnt' see enough evidence to follow the break out of NQ

then took profit at qqq gap fill which was also new .382 fib return.

There is a two step process for creating alerts

Select the alert triggers in the indicator settings. Then create the actual alert in the TV Alert Panel

I enter a long trade when both clouds are blue and green, and a long signal has appeared. I enter a short trade when both clouds are yellow and red, and the short signal has appeared. I don’t take profit; instead, I move the stop loss between the two clouds in profit to follow the trend without exiting too early. The initial stop loss at the trade entry is placed below the green cloud for long trades or below the yellow cloud for short trades. I’m not sure if you understood my setup 😂😂😂

Lower timeframes does not necessarily mean they trigger every time before a higher timeframe triggers.
Just depends on the signal sensitivity as well.
If you keep the same sensitivity, this maybe the reason, versus optimizing the sensitivity relative to the timeframes.

Just like I mentioned, lower TF's does not always mean they trigger before higher TF.
But lets put this in perspective.
10H, 9H, and 8H are virtually around and the same bias time frames.
Just like 5m, 4m, 3m.
Too close together, not enough separation between timeframes for any significance.
With your 10H, observe the 4H, 2H, 1H or 15m charts, you may see what you wanted to see with these TF's

I am working now on setting the alerts properly but I found a little issue while using the default message for PAC alerts():

I noticed the price coordinates of the order block miss the separator

It would be great if those messages get something like [top|bottom] instead of [topbottom]

Yep I did study the doc first, unfortunately ob_buy_volume / ob_sell_volume is not what I am looking for, instead I need the top/low of the order block created/entered and I found no placeholder for it in the docs :/ The {default} message gives the output almost perfectly for my needs, however it just misses the seperator as the high and low prices are connected like for btc on the example I posted. If anyone has a solution for this please kindly lmk 🙂 thanks!

Alerts should happen at condition confirmation, and not delayed.
If it seems like it is delayed per your alert log, maybe the charts settings have changed, since you created the alerts?
Not sure as we would need to have a look at your chart and settings.

Hey there, and thank you for your suggestions.
My thoughts:
I have consistently mentioned that my personal template works on all timeframes for "myself."
I have shown my template on lower timeframes such as 15m, 5m, and also 1-5 second charts.
On a few occasions, I do show my executed trades on lower timeframes on second and minute charts.
The reason why I have my watchlist template on 4H or daily timeframes, is because this is "my" bias layout/template.
This is what I personally use for bias. "Then" I will go down to a lower timeframe to enter and manage the trade. This lower timeframe can be, 15m, 5m or 5 second charts. I have always mentioned this is how I personally trade.
But my advice, if you are not consistent enough, do not trade lower timeframes like you mentioned, as lower timeframes are THE most challenging timeframes to master.

• Start higher like 4H, and start going down to lower timeframes once you are consistent and mastered the higher TF's.

• Also, when I discuss features, such as the FVG or IFVG on higher TF's, it is because there is less noise on the chart, so that members, such as yourself, can focus on the feature/concept itself, instead of all the noise that comes with lower TF's. I have always mentioned this that all features, all indicators, all concepts, everything you do, all your analysis on higher TF's, does, and will work on any timeframe.

Thanks! I've previously read the explanation in the docs.luxalgo link above, but haven't see this video before, which is very helpful resource. But kindly please clarify my understanding of this Vol OB Indicator. The text states (1) "This information represent the accumulated volume within the interval used to construct the order block, and can be useful to determine how significant an order block is, with larger volume indicating a more significant order block." My understanding from this is that the volume shown are only the accumulated buy & sell vol of the candles (incl/excl wick dependant of your chosen settings) that forms the OB. (2) But in die video @ 4.50min, it is said the vol data is form the entire structure from the BOS/COCH to the OB, meaning not just from the candles (or part thereof) that forms the OB? This explains the OB vol variations with other vol OB indicators? Is the percentage shown in the OB calculated as (1) / (2) above?

The vol% is from the entire structure that formed the OB

Not just one candle, but several candles that formed the OB

Basically, an OB is formed on most structures, such as choch and bos. Those candles that formed the structure, formed the OB

Understand the vol% calc now - it's merely a specific OB's volume as % of total volume of all OB's shown by indicator (as per number of last shown OB's by the indicator setting), i.e. a specific OB's % will change depending on how many OB's have been chosen to be displayed indicator.

Taking this current NAS chart as example, could you please show me on the chart which candle vol's were used to calc the vol of each of these 3 OB's?

internal volume is data provided by tradingview, so the indicator gets data from there and prints it out

you might notice some tickers don't have data on the OB's, its because the data feed is not providing any

Thanks Micky for responding. Are you saying that the 124,664k vol shown for this OB are calculated from the candles you marked? That doesn't make any sense to me. My understanding from watching the video @ 4.45m is that this vol is calculated is not just for the specific candles it's drawn from, but extends beyond those candles to include the entire CHoCH/BOS that created the OB? In my case, I love my dual Neo Clouds.

This latest 1H Bullish Dual Neo Cloud occurred during these past 3 trading days, which I think you know are challenging since we are in a chop range.
But adhering to "your" set-up, "your" rules, "you" are safe and consistent.
We don't need to hit the jackpot everyday, we just need to be safe so that we can trade tomorrow.
