when your trade is live on the screen, move your cursor next to it on the left you will get a TP and SL prompt you can drag and drop, it will also open a dialogue box you can edit. alternatively at the bottom you can open "trading panel" and see the open trades there and amend them.

Does anyone know what it means if a bullish neo cloud is below the bullish smart trail? I haven't seen this happen before. (Check right chart DOT)

It would mean a stronger bullish trend no? Because the trend is above the resistance.

I also just noticed it happens more clearly/often on bigger time-frames.

there is not a written rule that smart trail needs to be above the neo cloud, they're 2 different elements

Take a look at this chart, I just decreased Smart Trail length and increased Neo Cloud length

Been doing bar replay on last few days & comparing time-frames. I like the 15 minute for directional bias but the 1 minute with trendlines for entries or adds. Any thoughts? Because of the 15 minute, micros are the only option based on risk. Overall If I had to pick I'd go with the 15m.

The day trading is tough,, I get a crossover alert in the middle of the night while I'm in a deep sleep. I get out of bed to login and assess to see whats going on & the position is flushing and I'm too late. Now I've lost sleep and it's hard to go back to sleep.

They definitely exist. It's just a spot where there is the most in buy/sell volume within a certain range/time frame. It can be institutional action, but it doesn't have to be. If you place a large order on a low volume coin, you'll probably create your own order block.

doesn't happen overnight. Took me 5 years to be consistently profitable. It's all about finding what works for you and what doesn't then backtest that strategy until your confident using it. Id suggest using DEMO accounts first until your being consistent in your profits before then jumping into a LIVE account.

It's often said that in trading, the risk of taking a long or short position is 2 to 3% of the capital, which means that you systematically have to put a stop loss at 2 or 3%, but if you take a long or short position, you're bound to be a little negative and above 2 or 3% at the start, which means that every time you take a position, you'll hit the stop loss and all your trades will lose out. I don't quite understand the notion of investing with a capital risk of 2 to 3%. Can someone explain?

Stop loss placement has many variables. Personally i risk 1% per trade. So once i've worked my stop loss out in pips, i then work out how many lots i need to use in order to risk 1% should my trade go against me and hit my X amount of pips stop loss.

For example (forex): If i want to risk 2k per trade and my stop loss in 5 pips
Id do a simple calculation such as
2000 (inital risk) / 5 (stop loss in pips) = 400
400 (result) / 10 = 40 (lots)

so my lot size would be 40.0 to risk 2k if 5 pip stop loss is hit

In my opinion, start and try to learn to read the charts on higher timeframes, such as 1hour and above.
Once you get a good feel for it and stay consistent, then you could look at lower timeframes.

I work night shift so hard for me to watch the chart all day , and I’d like to become more of a swing trader before I go down to smaller timeframes, but I am also still learning, guess I’ll try both and see what I like better

You don't really need to watch the chart all day. Don't go for LTF, all you need is a HTF, set it up and leave it to run (that is swing trading), that is all you need. When you get back from work you can check on your trade and when you wake up.

Just keep in mind that trading a timeframe like 5m is not for everyone. It's an entirely different game. I absolutely can not be effective on the 5m. If you're working nights, trading the 5m will be rough! Start with the Daily and play with the lower time frames on the weekends, or when you have a day off to get a feel for it.

I set the hyperwave length to 14. I like how it smooths things out. And the Money Flow has become one of my most relied upon indicators. It will save you from falling into Bull traps and fakeouts once you get the hang of it. It takes some work to get familar with, but The Osc. Matrix is so damn good.

Pretty uneventful on the ES which is what I focus on. It's been ranging inside the initial balance (also Monday's high) all afternoon. No trading edge for me.

Thanks I've been focusing on the ES (actually the micro) for 1 year straight. And I'm close to turning the corner on being profitable hopefully. I've won two accounts recently and lost them due to being stupid. Going on tilt a bit and taking on too much risk. I think once I get that behavior in order I'll be ok. ES is all I'm focusing on until I figure this out. I can say that you definitely start to learn how price moves by focusing on just one thing everyday.

Hi deos anyone here uses backtesting indicator with leverage? If so how do you set it up?

Just increase your position size.
As TV and the backtester does not know what each broker has or handles leverage.
So just increase your position size.
But should be all relative anyway, as you are focusing on the win%, DD, profit factor, etc
So for your net results, just multiply that with your leverage.
Lets say your backtest shows at the end, you are in profit $1500 with one spot contract, but you want leverage or 100x
Then take $1500, multiply that by 100

Hi, Is there a way to use the S&O screener to show other pairs while backtesting? For example, if I am using Trading View replay on GBPJPY and want to know what the trend catcher is doing on other GBP pairs at that time (once I go into replay mode, the screener shows "unavailable" for the other pairs

This is because the bar replay only replays the symbol on your main chart

It does not have the ability to read data history on all the symbols that trading view has to offer on the same replay

You see the current price of each broker?
Much different, close, but different.
So that is why, the tick data is different from each broker as they have their own liquidity pools.

Even your highs and lows markers on the price scale is different. So different data.

Yes I agree the actual price is different because of different liquidity pools. But in theory the candles should be basically the same usually (I have seen many wick differences) ... Once volume returned to the market the patterns changed to being the same.

Does that mean that the patterns take into account volume data for a given candle therefore the difference.

This is not a issue of tick data, actually it all depends how you expand in and out from the chart. patterns changes as you zoom in and zoom out. This is how indicators inerpret the price action. If you sychronize the both charts, time and symbol. it will resolve the issue.

If you zoom in and out, the pattern lines will stay the same in relation to the actual candlesticks.

Zooming in and out does not alter any indicator on the chart.
Both indicators and price will adjust according together.

There are a few times with the premium and discount zones that it does not show until I compress and expand the chart. But it does not change the value it only is off to the right so I cant see it.

The patterns did sync up a little later when more action / volume came into the market. That is why I was asking.

• 4 hour chart takes 2-4 days

Oh, the timeframe has not bearing on when target can be reached, could be in 2 minutes with a huge pum/dump, or might take longer. Its all price action

Signals are only confirmed on bar close. So signals may appear and disappear whilst candle hasn't closed but once its confirmed and printed on bar close then the signal doesn't change. This is also why when settings alerts you have to do 'Once Per Bar Close'

in regards with stocks, I don't personally trade them but they're usually buy and hold rather than flip them in a matter of minutes/hours (scalp).

AI is huge, and I think it'll only go bigger (personal opinion here)

yeah i think the same. im a programmer, im heavily invested in AI in my free time and somewhat professional and a hardcore gamer for years. i bought nvda the most i can since 2023.
but im afraid that big investors may get into the narrative "ai burst bubble" (which may be short term, but in the long term this is a winner , i mean nvda and AI) and so have a dip of 20% or more in the AI stocks

I had quite a few shares on NVDA 6 years ago when i first started trading, I sold them for a few hundreds and now i wish i can turn the time back and tell myself "HOLD"

Any of the strategies can be used on any symbol, just have to experiment and optimize. Find something that you like as far as templates, and then try on your symbols of choice

Believe it or not, the LuxAlgo short videos have really help me have "this click."
These actually taught me to keep it simple, just one or two basic concepts on the chart, thats all I needed, and I turned a corner since then....honest

@old crow Major structure for both 4/1hr is Bearish Choch. Internal structure is different, 4hr= Bearish choch, 1hr= Bullish BOS.

The direction of the major is good on both. 👀
