@old crow so like I'm trying to use the signal and overlay backtesters but use the osc tool for an external source. For instance if I'm trying to get confluence zone or value what do I actually use on the S&O part for the value?

Try these out in the S/O backtester.
If you open the data panel, and move your cursor left/right, notice the data panel and the confluence upper/lower values to find out what you need for longs/shorts

Im not at my laptop, so I cant test this, but If I remember correctly, you would use the 2nd set of external source in the S/Os to uses greater/lessor of a value

That’s the key, liquidity during real time is much different than any backtester strat performance

And during market open/close slippage gaps. These are real live market situations that backtesting doesn’t account for

Hey all 👋 I'm reasonably new here and trying to set up alerts for the 'Step' system on PAC. I have it all set up for a bullish scenario (and I know this is probably a stupid question, but I have searched and I cannot find it) - how do I set it up for the opposing alert i.e. the bearish scenario of the same steps? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have looked and I cannot find it.

Remember, these two anchor levels (H and L, premium and discount) are from the most recent swing points, so the metrics at these levels are from that structure, Of course price can still bust up or down. But the further it busts up, we know sooner than later, this will come back down. So these metrics gives us a clue on how much further it can go. Its like how long do we want to hang onto the move, or do we really want to jump in now, at the risk that the move could be over anytime soon

We have colour candles in signal and overlay and pac also

I use signal colour , what if i use pac also and both at same time ?

Whats the advantage and disadvanages of using both ? And which one to prefer

You will get errors if you start to play around with both sets of colors
I would use S/O's colors for trend, because PAC colors are just market structure colors that are already marked buy the choch and bos labels anyway

PAC candle colors are redundant as you have the chcoh/bos structure on the charts, so adding the S/O colors will benefit as those are based on a different algo for trend coloring

You can use the matrix and look for divergences while in premium or discount, look for overbought or oversold conditions and wait for reversal signal on matrix, or just use good ole fashioned PA for your entry 😉😉😂😂

Trade management. The story played out, I got a signal, but it's only a 1 signal.. so a little thin. got a big bar over the trend tracer (the +'s) and trend tracer flipped to green (good), trend catcher was already green (good). given the 1 signal, I waited for a bit of a check back towards the trend tracer (+'s). which it did. Money flow was less red, going to green. Bonus, the trend trail flipped to blue. Ok, thinking we have some consolidation and maybe we get a run up. I set up my debit spread, and planned my conditional trail order exit for 214.27 (roughly where the trend trail was) -- we shouldn't be there if we are running up. -- after hours, some little green bars, but not a lot, but by am, well, we got a blue liquidity bar. well dang. after hours gapped down a bit, not a good sign for my plan. The day market opened, my conditional order exited for a small loss. Good. Things weren't going in line with my plan. Again, repeating. Good. Did I lose the trade, sure, but only a tiny bit. Also good. Now stalking for new confirmations. I was probably a touch early on my entry, but will re-evaluate to improve. maybe needed to see that checkback to the daily order block (yellow). Regardless, sending some thanks to the crew here for improving my overall planning and Trade Management! I've got a plan for moving up my exits when the runners run as well. 🙂

Doesnt really matter if its a loss, what matter is trade management and you didnt get hurt.
So have the confidence in taking "your" set ups, because at the end of the day, according to your backtests, you will end up positive overall. Losers come with every strategy, they have to, its a must.

Hey there, remember, these two anchor levels (H and L, premium and discount) are from the most recent swing points, so the metrics at these levels are from that structure, Of course price can still bust up or down. But the further it busts up, we know sooner than later, this will come back down. So these metrics gives us a clue on how much further it can go. Its like how long do we want to hang onto the move, or do we really want to jump in now, at the risk that the move could be over anytime soon
