Can't the system look back on historical data and figure out whether smart trail, trend catcher, swing trade, which TP/SL, etc would have produced the highest profits, lowest drawdown, etc from a given asset and timeframe?

The issue is what is the definition of optimal? Because one strategy may be optimal for me and my style, but may not be for you

Optimal can be max profit for a given asset or asset class and timeframe, or minimal drawdown, etc. I should be able to define a strategy, say, EURUSD 5M, and the system does its magic and definesthe strategy parameters for me for max profit.

My advice is just be patient. No one is in any rush, learn the tool kits and optimize for your style and most likely you will find what you are looking for. @wet orbit
