I don't understand why "Trend strength" kept showing "Ranging" on both 1m and 3m charts, when MGC was all the way dropping from 4615 to 4545 as shown from replay screenshots. it was a huge movement and biggest 15 min candle for quite sometime

This is based on different interpretations of different tarders, different styles.
But please note, you are on lower timeframes 1-3m, which can produce noisier charts, thereby may not align with other elements/indicators on your chart. There is no right or wrong answer here.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Since the charts are on lower timeframes 1m and 3m, should that movement be more "trendy" than in the higher timeframes like 30m or 1h? I looked at same period in 1h chart, Trend strength shows "ranging" as well. So "Trend strength" seems not indicative for determining if we are at trend or chop

I would build a template that fits your style. You don’t need to use all the elements. Pick a few, keep it simple that makes sense to you. If the trend strength doesn’t make sense on the lower timeframes, then try another element.

This is not a question that any respectable trader can answer. Although I encourage your journey of education, I would rather point you towards squeezing every scholarship or fund that you can to have as little debt as possible.

It seems to me that you are a beginner, and I'll assume so. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Please, do not seek to pay any amount of debt with trading. It will most likely not work out in the way your hope it would.
Every instance of 'trade to live' that I've seen, very quickly found itself to destroy the trader.

I strongly suggest you get a full time job during or after your education, and pay it off that way. Once you have set yourself a decent enough income, pay everything off, then look to trade with what's left over. That's what I did.

However, I am not a financial advisor, nor a education advisor, or any other type of advisor. Please reach out to the proper people to ensure you are in the best position possible for your future.

I was fortunate enough to have a job that was flexible enough to trade during the NY session, and I stayed up until 2-3 most days to trade London, but it worked well for my schedule.

I do not believe most people will be as fortunate, so take steps in the right direction and remember the vision.

That macd indicator is not the best. It could potentially give you a signal then change it after the fact due to latency. I don’t use it for my trading, it was more a proof of concept. I personally use trend catcher and a kernel on 5 min. I sync that with a price action view on 15min and sometimes other trend measuring indicators, such as vwap, hence you see the background bias on those trades. Hope this helps!
