Today presents a classic "Negative Gamma" / Dislocation setup.
SPX Spot (approx): ~6539 (Yesterday's Close)
Max Pain: 6650 (Target where most options expire worthless)
The Disconnect: The market is trading ~111 points below Max Pain.
What this means: normally, Max Pain acts as a magnet, pulling price toward it on expiration day. However, when the gap is this large (over 1.5%) and VIX is spiking (27.62 pre-market), the "magnet" often breaks. Market Makers are likely "Short Gamma" (trapped in short puts below 6600). As price drops, they are forced to sell futures to hedge, which accelerates the sell-off.
Your Primary Focus: The 6500 Put Wall. This is the "floor" that must hold to prevent a liquidation event.

I dont use them for entries (i use my charts) but I use these to help manage my positions (I found they are super helpful)
you could definitely trade off just using them... but I personally would also use additional technical confluence alongside it
but they are really good for bounces and reversals
and a few other things too 😄
