PAC OB is what i base my trades upon but looking at charts sometimes price spends a lot of time there if you look left and i'd think it invalidates a lot of OB. is that where lengthing the look back comes in?

Not necessarily.
The length just changes the OB structure formation. Higher length, larger OB structures. For me, I keep my OB’s at default 5, and show much more than 5 OB’s. I show over 100 OB’s on my chart and then I don’t need to scroll to left. All the OB’s are right there
