Yes and no. I start looking for setups at 8am-11. If I find one cool, and if it fills even better. But I cut off looking after 11. I then wait till 1 to start looking again. Setup comes and gets filled before 3 I let it run. But NOTHING gets filled after 3. I scrape everything after 3 for setups and fills.

It’s all about liquidity sweeps. If I’m trading London, I wait for Asian sweep. But if setup comes after 4 I don’t take it.

For those who are struggling a little bit. Try use a 1/0.80 RR when trading. It will give you room but also in choppy conditions it will allow you to grab a quick profit! It’ll be smaller like 5-10 ES points but hey, they do add up traders. AND it builds confidence!

Of course some of my trades are more complex but I been doing this same thing for better than 15 years now. I mark up my chart and follow strict rules!

i will put in a variable where it has to be greater than a set thickness to be considered a valid pullback

we could then see if there is a minimum sweet spot

It would honestly be way to hard to do a strategy backtest on tradingview for this bc the stoploss and take profit are different each time. It potentially could be doable. But if you wanted to strategy test then I would say write the setups and try to find the optimal takeprofit and stoploss. Ive done 100s of strategy backtests in on tradingview for about 6 months now and that would honestly be the only way. If you want to make something the best thing would just be to get alerted when price enters and exits a neo cloud

I am going to be coding a custom indicator for this to backtest. i can grab the data from neo for it. it will have dynmic SL and TP points and all that based on the setup each day for entry and such....thats all part of it.

@severe solar have you explored the confluence of other timeframes of the neo?

for instance making sure the 1 min and potentially even the 30 second are also in alignment when you enter on the 3min?

the DOW 5min was juicy today

possibly if 5min is the move on these then just having a large neo can indicate any entry

i have some stuff ive been working on on the 1 min that caught the NQ move down, and then the move backup nicely

I will see if i can adapt it to the 3 and 5 min to give some insights there

also, once i fully code the backtester, we can test all the variables like times and anything else we want to see if it helps or hurt

Gotcha well atleast you know it wasnt primary setups that were the issue, I stayed far far away from NG it's in my uncomfy zone since it's so high up and I used 15M TF
