ok i haven't had a chance today to write this up or anything, but i took 5 trades today and won them all. here's the SUPER basics but i'll write it up in some detail later.

basically, i'm using the 'signals & overlays' indicator, with only the reversal zones and the trend catcher on. i am using a few other LUX indicators as well, plus a weird RSI that i use, but i'll detail that later (and it honestly might not matter). i am also using a 50 SMA (i have preferred the way the SMA reacts to price, over the EMA), but also might not matter.

so here's the idea: on the 1 minute chart (that's all i've tested it on, but it may work on other TFs), watch for price to enter the reversal zones. once it clearly exits, watch price to cross the trend catcher AND for it to change color. make sure the candle closes on the color change and enter immediately on the next candle. here's an important rule: you're looking for ONLY 3 points per trade, 3 point TP and 3 point stoploss. SOMEHOW, nearly 100% of the time, on the 1m chart, when price enters and exits a reversal zone then crosses the trend catcher and it changes color, price moves AT LEAST 3 points. i took 5 trades today on ES, all winners (and saw a few more i could have taken, all of which were winners). i just scaled up contracts, knowing i was only locking in 3 point moves.

i'm also testing a few other trades with this setup that are looking amazingly high probability, but i'll save those for a more detailed treatment. for now, check this basic version out, how price reacts to this moment with the reversal zones and trend catcher. more later, but hope that helps!

interesting. none of the settings should matter since neither the reversal zones nor the trend catcher are subject to sensitivity settings. i'll do a bunch of screenshots and demonstrate. it's actually STUPIDLY simple and it's crazy how well it works. my strategy is 3 POINTS and i'm out, and just do that 5-6 times a day (and scale up with contracts). people who wanna trade runners are gonna hate this. it's not sexy or exciting but it's consistent AF (based on my back-testing so far and trading the past few days).

but like i said, i'm ONLY trading on the 1m and on ES. not sure how this works on anything else yet.

ahh yep, it's NOT on candle color change. it's on trend catcher color change. enter immediately on the first candle after a confirmed trend catcher color change, trend catcher color change just following a touch of reversal zones. i don't use the signals, the candle colors, or literally anything else.

i AM looking at some other indicators for confirmation, but i'm just monitoring those really. literally all i'm using to actually enter trades is reversal zones and trend catcher.

today, i started trading from NY market open (9:30AM ET), took about 20-30 minutes to find the handful of trades that scored me about $1k.

my rule is to trade from market open until i hit $500-1000, then stop, even if i see setups. i try to just turn it off after that. today, i was testing this trend catcher thing, took a few extra trades just to see, made another $500. CRAZY.

i’ll report back tomorrow, and send some screenshots, more details.

almost immediate reversed and headed back up. that 3 point rule is crucial, but makes this little strat extremely consistent.

could have re-entered long after the cross back above the trend catcher, on the first candle AFTER the color change back to green. going for 3 points again, would have been a winner.

i'm still testing some other trades in this setup, that's one of em.

yep, i would enter on that second green candle (if that's the first one AFTER the confirmed trend catcher color change). i would also have entered on at the top, on the first candle after the confirmed catcher color change. and again, i'm using all white candles, don't pay attention to candle color changes.

and these are usually good for more than 3 points, but that's how i keep my win rate HIGH.

Similar idea - uses signals though instead of reversal zones - but catcher always key

I love scalps with futures. Futures can be so unpredictable the faster you can get in and out the better

@tired plume have you established how long an exit from a reversal would/should be valid to watch for the flip before it is no longer associated with the exit?

On strong signals I add a buy position (50% of size) when it touches SL1. Then set my SL at SL2 and if it runs up i move the SL (in profit) to previous HL. This way i just let it run untill it hits Tp or a change of signal.

so lets say you enter a trade on NQ for 5 points sl it would be:
100 / (5 * 20) = 1
so 1 NQ and if you get less then 1 then its just micro

the thing is, you can't catch every trade, it won't happen, the fact that he didn't get a strong signle doesn't mean that its a bad thing. We need to remember when we build a strategy that adding another filter / confluence doesn't always mean more profit, it can increase the WR but decrease the RR or give less signals

you need to take many thing into account when building a strat, one missed trade doesn't mean that the strat is bad

Price bounced exactly from the 50% enchroachment of daily bullish FVG like I also mentioned yesterday

Now this is my game plan

We will go up towards the bearish imbalance formed with the bearish MSS on the daily

Then our target would be these equal Lows on the daily

That’s triple lows on the daily . It’s the major target price will likely to go to. Taking these lows then going back up to fvg will leave no target liquidity to aim for the algos. However going into the fvg or a close to it then those triple Equal lows will be an amazing target liquidity for algos to rush to

We understand where algos have there entries but these entries are never valid unless an target liquidity is known

Tradovate Group Trade does not allow Bracket orders, so no automatic stops or take profit. Stops and limits have to be placed afterwards and managed manually.

Idea is that HTF is bearish structure, 15m and 5m bearish, SPX ran sellside on 5m TF, I waited for bearish BoS and FVG but look for entries after 8:30, it made EQH below FVG at AM, I expect it to sweep those EQHs and tap into that FVG I highlighted to target closest reasonable target, which is that swing low. SL at swing high above highlighted FVG because that's my risk tolerance.

hey gang, for anyone who was testing out the strat i added today over in #1128499789437354106, i just added a few additional confirmations:

Additional rules:
-I have found that this strategy performs best during the first half of the NY session (I primarily use it from 9:30AM-11AM ET).
-DO NOT take a long trade if price is close to the top Reversal Zone, DO NOT take a short trade if price is near the bottom Reversal Zone (this would be the case in a tight ranging market).
-For additional confirmation, add the Smart Trail and only take trades when the Trend Catcher and the Smart Trail agree (for long trades price should be above the Smart Trail, for short trades price should be below the Smart Trail).
-If price is FAR from the Smart Trail, you're safer taking the trade even if the Smart Trail disagrees, as you're only looking for 3 points.

the smart trail can be pretty key for filtering out losers, BUT it also filters out a decent amount of winners. so, that would be the more conservative approach and an option if you're looking to filter false signals, especially in more ranging markets. hope this helps!
