each tick on NQ is 40% of ES move (20$ and 50$) BUT.. NQ moves at x4 volatility so you can actually make x1.6 more in NQ than in ES

Not Quant and he will probably give better advice, but as far as I've seen with his strat, you can also take the last swing as SL and 1:1 RR, it isn't the most optimized RR that you want but if you have high WR it will still work good for you, just look out for the drawdown.

we got close to an 2HR supply we couldnt break last week. Big bearish trendline beautifully rejected off. Took a swing trade from there. Took a scalp trade too. till the BOS. Took profit. Rentered a scalp on the 1 min supply retest. Added 50% after breaking the VWAP. Hit my 1mn Demand. took profit. Opened a long with small sl tight risk. Went up hit my 1m supply

I keep the max trades per day at 5 for myself even when trading on the 2m TF. If I go over that limit, I feel like I will get into trouble. Another rule of thumb for me is to never trade between 3 PM and 4 PM because you will most likely get chopped up. Quality of quantity IMO.

The following are purely thought suggestions on trading during FOMC days:

· Reduce trading size
· Be extra picky = no trade is better than a bad trade
· Choose entry points wisely. Look at longer time frame support and resistance for entry. Take the approach of entering at points where you normally would have placed protective stops. Example, trader x looking to go long the mini SP at 3925.00 with a stop at 3919.00, instead "stretch the price bands" due to volatility and place an entry order to buy at 3919.75 and place a stop a few points below in this hypothetical example ( consider current volatility along with support and resistance levels).
· Expect the higher volatility during and right after the announcement
· Expect to see some "vacuum" ( low volume, big zigzags) right before the number.
· Consider using automated stops and limits attached to your entry order as the market can move very fast at times.
· Keep in mind statement comes out at 1 Pm Central time, the news conference which dissects the language comes out 30 minutes later so the volatility window stretches out.
· Know what the market was expecting, learn what came out and observe market reaction for clues
· Be patient and be disciplined
· If in doubt, stay out!!

2. lux premium set to auto and mid term ( looking for candle color to match the direction of the 50 ) i.e green above red below
3. using dynamo for my "momentum" confirmation. rsi above/below the 50 level with the adx rising

just looking for 20 points stop set below last swing or below the 50

• can use the stoch histo as extra confirmation but i find it only really helpful for longs *

then it increased as it continued to break/fall

and i like the rsi pointing straight down in that scenario so i mean either couldve worked right just a preference thing

like i said before this thing just shoots straight to your tp in most cases

consistency and patience will make you rich! find something with enough set ups in the day that can achieve that!

this is what Quant sent, what you can do it be like a bot (that is what I usually do when I don't understand a strat) meaning that you will look at the trades that I took (with the chart that I shared) and go through all the points and see if all of them apply to the trades

then go back and look to where it could be also applied

one thing to not confuse @steep tinsel is that if the adx is angling down with the rsi its not good. while the rsi pointing down shows its momentum is down the ADX point down shows momentum is weakening... so we would want to see rsi pointing down while ADX is still rising to show both momentum indiactors are in confluence

so heres a good example of what we can now call a B+ set up... the orginal strat is the A+ set ups

a common rule with the ADX, now knowing that when it decreases the momentum is weakening, is that when you see low momentum in conjunction with a higher low or lower high you can make an educated guess that the momentum will continue back into the direction of the trend,

this set up was perfect for that. you can see we have a range.... but price is making a higher low with the adx dead... then you get the regular strat rules to happen but its not perfect. B+ trade set up still wins if you took it.

the tricky part to these is the timing because the momentum can easily switch on you and the adx can even start to rise BUT the price could keep falling and the adx is just showing that the momentum to the downside is increasing
