I updated yesterday from Android 15 to Android 16 and the app doesn't open no matter what I do. I used it just fine before the update. I don't want to reinstall termux cause of all the hassle I went through setting up a linux desktop (XFCE, vnc server, pulseaudio, apps in the desktop etc.)

@fresh dragon you have probably different issue than OP. termux app can be instlled but can not be opened.
The issue with Android 16 was fixed here https://github.com/termux/termux-app/issues/4556

I also updated my android and it opens and closes the exact same way as op

like my installation of termux is the one from the playstore not fdroid

There are probably two options right now - build from source or install from CI artifact. Both require uninstalling existing termux app if it is installed from f-droid or play store.
