they do not spawn in non-vanilla biomes, so they are exceptionally rare in the currently release. in the next updated, Complicated Bees should be updated, which will allow them to spawn in BWG biomes, as it has added native compat.

I have been going to every vanilla biome I could find, in creative, at night so I can see the glow of any hives, and I have not found any.
