what is the reason for Baby zombies spawning every time i die?
Idea for a material for the crafting of the gateway: an enchanted book (reasoning being the gateway is magical, and usually people get the obby for an enchantment table at the same time as for the portal)
should we expect an adjustment to mekanism's energy usage in a later update?

I hope you can forgive me for reporting it here. But if you add a rat to a cage with a rat wheel, then it will start generating Energy. And if you release the rat, the wheel will keep making energy.

Block breaking:
Light: Crops, Hay Bale, Lantern, Campfire.
Medium: Chests, Barrels, Job-site blocks, Beds.
Heavy: Bell.
Block interaction:
Medium: Chests, Barrels.
Killing:
Medium: Pig, Sheep, Cow, Chicken, Cat, Horse, Donkey, Mule, LLama.
Beds:
Light: kicking the Villager out of their bed.
Medium: sleeping in a bed that is claimed by a Villager.

But the crops thing is just rude of the mod and I don’t think there is any way around it. Just farm at your base and feed them relentlessly.

And guards are no joke.
If you need to kill the passive mobs you can work around it by setting them on fire with a lava bucket.

the frustration is taking me, I tested it extensively and it seems that a couple mobs from raids don't actually spawn, making it impossible to progress waves. crocofang and igniter, both from the same mod?
it should be fixed next update
i think it was related to no hostiles around campfire mod
preventing spawns
oh you're a gem. after 2 failed raidfarm attempts I created a big flat area in the sky and made sure to give it an extra 5 room of unspawnable blocks and it worked fine until....wave 2
when do you think that update will drop roughly? or if it'll be some time maybe there is a local fix on my server I can do?

I remember trying to spawn a creeper near my base to see if I figured out the mob griefing rules and was so confused when it just despawned instantly

this is the first time interacting with villager mechanics but unless I am actually going schizo something is not working 
someone reported on the github that the campfires have a bugged range that is crazy high
and because they spawn in villages
it bugs raids
so lets see if thats the case
try remove the mod and report back if you want
as much of a hater i was of better combat, the tweaks you made to the mod and other weapons actually makes it kinda fun
still iffy and im sure i would love the vanilla style too, but i cant say im not enjoying it
this platform is above the ocean no other villages (or campfires) within 1000 blocks
another smaller thing might be that skillcloaks seem a bit overtuned, for example being able to disenchant without cost or cooldown
@flint egret I am sorry I do not have a github account yet that bug is actually in the documentation of the mod
ohnoes, editing the config file to remove those mobs from raids does work.....but now the same happens with the mob "wind witch". it seems raids need some looking into
some mobs dont spawn, only specific ones, but they show up as raiders and crash the raid, making it incompleteable
better combat is a simple and amazing mod that should 100% be in the pack grrr
tbh tho I get why ppl dont like it

or are the villagers really that smart 
we had to remove special mobs/witches and illage and pillage config entries to stop them spawning in raids as a bandage fix. not sure how that interacts with other mobs. but as far as illage and pillage goes they have it in their documentation that its not server compatible
anyone else lag when putting stuff into a crafting table. like when you use the same material and you hold to place equal in each spot

Speaking of Alex caves (and mods that add dinosaurs) I think fossils and archeology is working on a 1.20.1 update, so I may eventually be reunited with my feathery sons after all
Any plans to add other chunkloading options than ftb claims? As I personally don't trust ftb chunkloading after it played poorly with a few create contraptions in previous modpacks and nearly crashed my servers due to item entity overloads
FTB Chunkloading only works when somebody on your team is online. This can be changed in the config. This is the likely reason you get buggy results on persistent servers.
I think Minecolonies chunk loads, and AE2 has a power- demanding chunk loader.
huh, AE2 does have one now, I didn't realize that
yeah but the issue I had with ftb's solution somehow managed get the chunk loaded in such a way that it processed the blocks but not the entities, so my cobble farm that had a slight gap between breaking the cobble and it falling onto a belt resulted in thousands of item entities accumulating overnight
Never sure if they fixed that, but I always tried to use different options after that

Tried this as well. the campfires is one issue and everytime I get the igniter and crocofang it also breaks

I may be mistaken but I thought that if every villager dies in the raid it’s considered a loss, so best thing may be getting some villagers in boats or Minecarts and moving them outside the bounds of their village and then brutally slaughtering peacefully ending the lives of the rest of them there, wait till it finishes ‘ending’ and force repopulate them

If you don’t want to murder all your friends in the village also maybe breaking the bell, all beds and doors and trying to force the ‘village’ to not exist anymore? But I’d go with the literal villager genocide first option

someone on the server i'm playing on was able to somehow make activated chromatic steel, which requires a blend of multiple things and one of those need a temp higher than blazing blood so i'm kinda confused on they did it

so many mods adding the same ability with the same name
same issue with 10 mods adding copper (well originally when that first happened to Minecraft in general, many many years ago, but that issue has been more or less solved in modern packs I think)
yeah there is one from corail tombstone, as well as ender io and ars
copper is used from base minecraft now so you dont have that issue any more xD
yeah, that was an example, I could have used lead, uranium or whatever as well
but that's "relatively" easy to unify nowadays, like I said, solved problem
for enchantments probably harder, because sometimes they have small differences in how they work exactly or I think only the enderIO variant works on enderIO gear (from what I recall from MCE1)

It's cool but I'd like to see some forced interaction between the player and the main mechanic of the dimension... I can go to the lowest Y level and collect ores using spectral hammer as long as I want just about
I've said this before but in MCE1, the player was FORCED to interact with the dimension there for osmium and other resources because you needed light sources to go deeper, as for here there's nothing except the danger of setting off shriekers which can be avoided very easily by using ars's projectile magelight spell combo, and the best part is in most cases, I've noticed that ars projectiles don't make actual noise for sensors to pick up
(Also the break spell doesn't cause actual noise either)

Genuinely surprised there is no tag for super strong things like “unique” or smth so people know
I usually go out of my way to collect those kind of items and it makes for an easy quest to collect them all
collect every type of rat upgrade and/or have on of each kind of rat
I remember when I was telling friends about how great mce was mod compatability was because you could use the same ore type from most mods and wouldn't run into something where "x" wont smelt in "y"

Speaking of that though i have noticed that you cant make Brass int he EnderIO Alloy smelter, but you can make it in the Tinkerers Smeltery was that intended, or another bug?
I had assumed it was intended for the primitive alloy smelter from since it's easy to get to but then I saw you cant do it with the upgraded smelter either.
Kudos to Adam for the responsiveness. Kinda nuts to me how quick things are getting addressed. I'd love to see how he's organizing things. Seems like he's been going pretty non stop. I and am sure most everyone else appreciates it!

That sounds typical of an above ground nest from other mod packs I've played

Hi @flint egret I noticed the nether eye was a loot drop. Not sure if it was intended
I thought that the warden was only unkillable in the great below. But I will avoid now in the overworld
a gyrocopter with a bow feels very WW1
ok so bounty boards seem hilariously broken but what we also noticed is skillcloaks seem to be in the same category. disenchanting is incredibly powerful and being able to do so without any cost or penalty through the magic cloak is pretty hmpf
...and vilager zombification to cheese trades is just a bad mechanic 
i agree there should be a bit more to getting disenchanting other than trade with villager-> get cloak, but at the same time having more options than just using the corails disenchanting is needed. there needs to be a more middle ground between the two time/effort wise.

I truly feel that Better Combat is a hindrance and hope that it’s removed. It seems like the vote is close to 50/50 which means a mixed opinion.
Even if the vote is in favor of it by a small margin it should be considered for removal

It has its ups and downs, but like Adam said, it’s janky
A lot of mobs can also hit you through walls and 1 block openings even if you’re hitting their feet which turns it into a hit, step back, hit, step back simulator for most encounters.
Personally, I was going to go the ranged route to completely avoid it.
This is my only gripe with the mod, Most mob feel like they have either the same or barely less melee range than you and it makes cqc feel bad.
Yep exactly. It happens with every mob and is especially prevalent with Cursed Armor from chests. I have to step back constantly even with a spear, because their range with a sword matches mine despite the extra reach distance I (supposedly) have.

I like it for the autoswing. Also I'm not sure if this is true for all tools, but when my tinkers axe broke, it still counted as a better combat weapon and did a sweeping attack at an extremely impressive rate, albeit with like half a heart of damage per swing, but the group knockback was useful.
I really only like better combat for being able to swing and hit multiple mobs much easier

Late reply, but better combat is the saving grace on this modpack, just wish we had simply swords for more weapon variety without having to go hard into tinkers.
i was hoping for mekanism pipes to be fixed honestly....relogging bugs them out and makes it look like they're disconnected

Hi @flint egret I think the blade of eternal torment quest doesnt work
i've already done a lot of work making it support as many modded weapons as it does
but there are some misc changes i would like to do
such as non weapon offhands being hidden while you attack
the shield or torch going all around the screen while attacking is my least favourite part

Might be miss remembering but I swear there was a modpack that had the better combat mod and if you held a torch in off hand it would swing the torch and set enemies on fire, or also adding sharpness to shields would deal damage when you are swinging the sword, (idk fav feature of that mod is dual wielding and this incentivizes keeping a shield or even a torch in offhand lmao for tradeoffs)
it wouldn't prevent you from using the items in your off hand
im just saying unless they are actively in use they should be hidden while attacking
because it looks awful imo
Because of Better Combat, I keep accidentally murdering my stock keepers with my pickaxe while trying to pick up blocks near them if I'm just slightly at the wrong range 😦
Is there a way to turn it off for specific items/tools?
Yeah I hate that I can’t break blocks with my axe. I tried breaking my goblin trader enclosure to move him and I ended up murdering him with a swing

Hi @flint egret I noticed that you cant interact with your own pets in someones claimed area. Very annoying when you hop of your dragon and no way back home, is there something that can be done about that?

why should you be able to open someone else's door
if it is claimed by another player? Because they don't want you in their house probably. If they add you as an ally to their team, you can use stuff as normal

I think one thing you should add is that Silk Touch does not work on Flawless Budding Quartz and will degrade it

Hi @flint egret I noticed the hellish gateway keeps failing as soon as the entities spawn
other gateways have a similar issue although they dont always fail on wave 1. Maybe when a weird type of mob spwans the mod doesnt expect?

Yea same issue even in full blazing nether-rite gear with 80% melee protection i get DESTROYED by the big zombies/skeles and fire zombies (went to the nether)

Quest Rewards? You can leave them blank and I can populate their rewards, if you do want to add rewards though keep the balance in line with the other questlines. 50-80 coins for an "easy quest" 100 coins for a "moderate quest" and 150-300 for a "hard quest". The generic quest lootbox can be included every couple of quests in a questline.
i had other questions regarding quests though, such as the quantity since i know you prefer to keep it slimmed down for MCE2
there is no need to keep anything slimmed down
eventually i want to have as many quests as mce1
ars nouveau has quite a lot of information and i'd like to add as much as possible
make as many as you feel like making, the quantity is not a problem

ars nouveau is super powerful and more people should know! it has a relatively easy storage system that works really well with create and can be your starting inventory/crafting system. I would highlight that, personally
i've been playing MCE2 since it's been publicly available and i have yet to switch from the storage lectern to AE2 😭
i know a lot of ars nouveau, and there's very few items that i've only used once or twice and even less items that i hven't used at all
its such a neat system, I really like it
the spell customization is such a fun little playground
and it intuitively rewards you for making learning? more spells

tier 4 ars armor is netherite equivalent
it's basically all the same as vanilla armor but with a fresh coat of paint and added stats for mana
if it had more durability, i'd be more inclined to use it for combat
but having a set laying for utility is really nice
i have an armor set for general usage, iron spell's, and ars 😭

Doesnt seem to be in server side either. When new update releases we delete everything except for the world file
for the moment if you don't have filter system, you can just put in one of the items with the tag
if i add the filter system myself for the one quest, wouldn't it be messed up on your end if you didn't have it?

also, you can look at some of the other quests for design tricks
sounds good, it's just there's a lot of sub-questlines for different parts of the mod 😭

in particular the botania quests use a trick to have dependency lines but only require a specific task out of a quest
which is just setting dependencies for both the main quest and the task within it and having it be an OR task

i see the botania quest tab has a quest for all the flowers....for ars nouveau, the amount of spell glyphs is.....quite a lot and i'd like to do something with those for a quest in the challenge tab or in the ars nouveau tab itself
some of these items can be ignored and 3 or 4 of the glyphs already come with the novice spellbook, but this is roughly the amount of spell glyphs sadly
all glyphs could 100% be a challenge

Magic, The iron spells right now feels expensive to do with long cooldowns to all spells

So I am eagerly waiting for the skill tree which I felt even though busted at the time with the leveling speed, was a good fix for the cast times, mana, and damage output
it feels like the mobs can hit at ridiculous ranges, when i cannot hit them even using the cleaver
I've always like axes for their outstanding burst damage, but the combat mod prevents that, if you could find an way to reintroduce that it would be cool imo.

I agree. Since they are ai they know exactly the distance they can hit you from so they hit you from the maximum distance always. It’s pretty annoying because you are guaranteed to get hit a lot and it’s pretty annoying but I’ve just dealt with it
I don’t normally use axes but for some reason I’ve taken to using them. Last I saw there weren’t many variations of the axes all there was were vanilla, tinkers, and Ice and fire axe thats about it. I wish I saw more versatile axes. Also maybe you can add some sort of armor sets to pair with an axe to make them stronger (Like the warrior armor but higher tier than iron)
I already was a fan of this modpack. After realizing that more things unlock after signing the contract though I am loving it. Kicking myself for not signing sooner, but that is what it is
Not sure, but the idea is that over time sword should be better but given the first 3/4 seconds of combat axes should dominate? Being really good for clearing fodder and maybe gaining bonus on kill streaks.
Yeah, make it better for clearing multiple groups vs swords being better for single target.
i could do something more simple where an axe gets an attack bonus for its first couple of consecutive attacks and then loses it for x amount of time
so you feel powerful with the initial use of an axe to clear some mobs and then you switch to a sword

I know you can use FTB chunks to force load a couple chunks, but weird there's a tip for a chunk loader if there's isn't one (That I know of)

blazing blood. if you're thinking that building a foundry at a blaze spawner will do, there's a much easier way to get blazing blood, and a lot of it too. just look up in the nether 🙂
Blazing blood isn’t hard to mass produce if you get you just need 4 blazes in soul vials and a bunch of the ichor blocks

elite tanks hold 256 buckets or something like that
i had to make a cleaver to get initial blaze heads to melt down though but after that it was easy
i mean yea, that's the point of it

After sometime playing with better combat, i think this is not the ideal for this modpack, actions and stuff are waaaay better, if there's a way to change this mod to another combat mod, or just remove it, that would be cool, because the better combat anoys me sometimes, i think it's not only me that thinks that way, just a suggestion.
there's no other combat mods except for epicfight, which is even worse than bettercombat
a lot of people don't like bettercombat but i think it's just getting used to it

The problem starts when you can't hit some mobs due the lag spikes, i don't tested yet on singleplayer world, i've joined a few servers and opened a server myself, i don't know if this mod is more client-side, i'm gonna run some offline tests because when are you playing online with this mod, it's really a challenge to hit some mobs, i prefer a option that disable this feature or change combat mode to normal mode when playing, the combat mode from the Dawncraft Modpack looks like more stable when hitting mobs(I think it's epic fight)
epicfight is a million times more clunky than bettercombat. if it was switched to epicfight, i would quit playing this modpack as bad as that is to say
if you're having lag spikes on a server, it's probably your connection
maybe test in singleplayer before blaming the mod for issues
like i said, i'm not the only with this problem
i've tested a plenty of servers with low ping
but if you're having lag spikes while playing on a server, it couldn't be the mod at all
i don't have issues with bettercombat at all except a couple case scenarios

I'm looking around this issue, because i'm not the only one with this problem, i have 1Gbps internet with a modern router, i don't have problems with other games when i'm playing online, i need to confirm if this mod is stable when playing online, but, personally, i preffer vanilla combat.

I'm afraid we are keeping bettercombat in the pack as we believe it adds more to the experience than it takes away with occasional clunkiness
the pros outweigh the cons, and it's not even close
But we are always looking into potential performance increases and fixes :)
Is more about community feedback, we need to discuss more about how we can improve and make adaptations on the modpack to make it fun for everyone, my only issue is that at momment, i'm having a lot of fun exploring and discovering.

Are you sure it's lag you're experiencing and not mobs being out of reach of your weapons
they can choose to listen to the community but unless it's an overwhelming amount, highly unlikely anything will be changed
Some mobs have extra reach so they require different tactics to fight
As they can hit you at the same range you hit them
i've fought mobs that had like an extra 2 block melee range against me

So question for anyone that does minecolonies, I placed a supply camp down but realized the area I had originally wanted to build in just isn't big enough, So I placed down a second supply camp 1000 blocks away in a better spot but it's now not letting me place the town hall because the "supply camp is 1050 blocks away". @mild basin ok so i'm assuming you're wanting to create it from scratch, so:
1 - go to the repo's main page https://github.com/adam9899/MC-Eternal-2
2 - click on Fork above the Code button and create a fork
now usually you'd just use like a git client from here, but web editor is plenty fine for updating single quest files so i will assume you are fine with that
3 - search up and open the file you want to edit on your fork
4 - click on the Edit button on the far right of the file's toolbar
5 - i'd just say copypaste the contents of the file
6 - click Commit Changes, write in a commit message and description if you want. you can either select create a new branch and start pull request or commit directly to main branch, the former is cleaner if the changes might not be accepted at all. note that the pull request will try and pull the message and desc later, but you can edit it there after the fact.
7 - now you can make the pull request, if you didn't use the shortcut earlier, you go to Pull requests on the source repo and click new pull request.
8 - make sure you click on compare across forks after starting the pull request creation, and then select your fork, and the branch where changes have been made. a preview of changes will be shown below the message and description box, and the message and description of the first divergent commit should be pulled in automatically.
uh i think that's it, this is partly from memory so hopefully it is complete enough.

"add file" will only let you upload to the root directory last i knew, unless you set up the same folder structure you want to upload to on your system somewhere

The loot chests can be normal, can spawn cursed armor or can be connected a mini boss like that

Well, i guess the only reason i can kill them bc i'm playing with cheats on (yeah, i can't play a single world in a legit way 😅)
I created a somewhat good cleaver
But added 100 modifier and abality slots to it
It does damage between 40 and 110 and it still takes a good while to kill some of these bosses
Btw what do you think? Basic crafted stuffs are better with enchants or tinkers created stuffs?
for the normal mobs i think its good basic with enchanted but later tinkers i still did not get to that stage but i know there are boses where i cant go with normal gear
idk if it was bad rng or the rates have been dropped, I havnt gotten any grave dust since the .5 update, is it more rare now?

A whole night of killing and not one dropped, I have been using the Iron spells magic missle to kill though if that effects it?
Thermal series dynamos or heat generators from mekanism if you can make a bunch of them
Heat generators work best if you place lava around them and not inside
I wish we had the create addon that lets us convert SU to RF or vice versa 😉
