The panel now does not use https automatically, causing a login exception. This could be easily fixed by automatically redirecting to https.

Well this is latest firefox on Windows, so it propably should work.
It seems as it is a problem related to the first visit
This was captured one minute later, and there it works without any problems
It may be a solution to enable require https on cloudflare

A possible solution is to enable Always use Https pn Cloudflare. It looks like Cloudflare does not redirect and the panel itself does redirect.

It doesnt redirect on firefox it has been like this for ages. Majority of other browers work fine.
