There appears to be a bug in 2v2 Doubles where you are still able to change your team color and join a 3rd team. There is a chance this is client side, but I am unable at this moment to confirm that.

It's not client side, I've had a couple times someone on the opposite team changed and made 3 teams
Changing team colors is fine, I just think it's weird that the game allows you to actually start the match with uneven teams
