There could be many possible causes. I’ve encountered similar issues occasionally as well.
But the most likely reason is that the filament isn’t properly gripping inside the extruder.

Try loosening the top latch and reloading the filament again — that might help.

i’ve done that multiple times unfortunately nothing happening

#

it only extrudes if i force the filament through

Are the gears on your extruder running?

solar thicket
#

i’m not completley sure

#

i’ll have to check

solar thicket
#

except nothing comes out

it extrudes if i push it with my hand yes

#

but it doesn’t extrude by itself

Alternatively, you can remove the extruder and check the machine's feeding steps to see if the gears are jammed with material, or heat the nozzle and manually push the material in. These two methods can respectively check whether the problem is with the extruder or the nozzle.

i’ve done that, nothing visibly wrong

#

i’ve also checked the gears there doesn’t seem to be any material stuck in them

if i push the filament through it does come out

Okay, it seems we're having the same problem. My conclusion is that the extruder gear set has reached the end of its lifespan, resulting in insufficient force to clamp the material for extrusion. The answers I found online all suggest that this type of extruder, the K1 series, experiences this issue.

and is there a fix?

I'm not sure if replacing the extruder gears with an all-metal version would be effective now that this has already happened, but when I encountered this situation before, I simply ordered a new extruder.

damn

#

okay thank you so much for your help

i will do that thank you

My current feeling about using this K1C is that the heating module and extruder drive me crazy every now and then.🫠

solar thicket
#

i ordered a new set of metal gears hopefully they work, thank you so much for your help!

the gears did look okay as far as i could tell

#

i tried methods to unclog and that didn’t seem to be the problem either

Don't about the K1 but previous Creality printers used to have plastic extruder frames which were known to split - then you have to tension to push the filament

tulip plank
solar thicket
#

wdym by releasing the tension?

tulip plank
#

Can you unscrew/loosen the gears so they don't hold the filament- making it easy to push through by hand

#

Just googled apparently you can adjust the grip tension, many comments on same issue

#

If PLA leave door open and lid up, the chamber needs to be pretty cool.

#

Some people also said that after a full strip and clean that they leave the cover off to help with heat dissipation away from the heat break

solar thicket
#

so i tried the new gears and it still doesn’t work

solar thicket
#

it wouldn’t print however when i clicked extrude a bit of filament did come out

#

previously none would

so i figured it out
