Maybe you are too close to the bed. Change the z offset

faint bobcat
#

Do I need another new bed replacement

rocky yarrow
#

No i think its something else

#

Try using gluestick

faint bobcat
#

tried uing blue painters tape

#

poainters

#

i dont gote3t fglue srtick on liqudi

#

What’s a alt to glue stick

calm quest

It looks to have a blockage in the hotend or the extruder isn't working properly - No filament is coming out.

#

What kind of extruder does it have?

faint bobcat
#

its flashforge 3d rpintere

#

it doersnt say but ig its .4mm 240 degtees

calm quest
#

I cant see any filament coming out of the nozzle..

faint bobcat
#

in the original vid/clip above ther is its jsiut stuck on the hotend

#

it builds up on the hotend

calm quest
#

Honestly it doesnt look like its extruding anywhere near what I'd expect, have you tried cleaning the nozzle?

#

Assuming its a Adventurer?

faint bobcat
#

Not the 5m or 5 pro

faint bobcat
#

So what is my solution to buy a new flash forge 3d printer and get the 5m or 5m pro or something

Watch this and follow it, this is what I think you need to do - https://youtu.be/DxbvzLBtlG0?si=ab9BHXL3CHLJ2u1T

Learn how to unclog the nozzle of your Flashforge Adventurer. You won't have to do this often, but if you own a printer you're going to have to do it eventually. It's simple once you know how and although we focus on the Adventurer the same basic steps apply to many bowden drive 3D printers.

Just trying to help

faint bobcat
#

Thanks

#

But also I did try to clean the nozzle form the top

#

Also when I clean the top extruder head with the tool the nozzle just comes out for some reason

#

My nozzle is definitely extruding out filament now

#

So I just tried to reset my flashprint settings on the profile petg which I had on I can’t tell and just placed some blue tape again on the bed let’s see if that works

calm quest
#

Looking at the video, if your using the tool and the nozzle falls out, maybe the screw on the side is loose?

faint bobcat
#

Ok something’s working now

faint bobcat
#

i frogot that petg needs to print slow

#

i think thats the problem

rocky yarrow
#

Didnt you select the correct profile?

faint bobcat
#

yes

#

onm flashprint?

#

It’s just dragging the filamen on the bed

#

It just worked why is it not working

faint bobcat
#

im getting frustrated now

rocky yarrow
#

is the part cooling of?

faint bobcat
#

no

calm quest
#

@rocky yarrow , has a flow check been done, the video didn't seem to show much extruding? Justa thought.

faint bobcat

Should the z hop mode in flashprint be set to automatch or off?

faint bobcat
rocky yarrow
faint bobcat
#

I don’t have that

rocky yarrow
#

i dont know flashprint by hearth

#

im sure you can google it

faint bobcat
#

ugh fine

#

i did but im missing a setting tho

calm quest
rocky yarrow
#

Hmm

#

Did you activate expert mode?

faint bobcat
#

yes

rocky yarrow
#

And what do you see?

faint bobcat
#

I saw cooling tab

faint bobcat
#

ok new theory do u think it has something to do with switching slicers?

rocky yarrow
#

Ist can change some settings because profiles are usally bad but that bad is rare

faint bobcat
#

interesting

#

how could i reset it? the printer i hit the reset or refresh settings button

#

idk if its a hrdware with nozzle or bed or software with the slicer

#

the nozzel touches the bed and filament oozes out b4 printing but the filament doesnt seem to stick to the bed

rocky yarrow
#

A bit of oozing is normal due heat up

#

Normaly flashprint should work.

#

If you have a spare nozzle you can switch it and test that.

faint bobcat
#

did something crazy. i increased temp on nozzle to 245 and bed to 90 and its doing so far so good rn

faint bobcat
rocky yarrow
#

.4 should work

faint bobcat
#

i also increase nozzle temp deviation and changed from 240 to 265 in the flashprint sdcreen on thje printer

rocky yarrow
#

265 is bad for the brass nozzles because they have a ptfe inliner

faint bobcat
#

Ok so new problem here, what is evening happening? It’s printing in mid air with 38min left in the print btw it’s still with petg filament.

#

like how do I get longer prints to actually fully work

faint bobcat
#

Idk whether to cancel this print and start over or just pause it

#

Btw looks at the bottom left i first had warping issues and now this

calm quest
#

Did you ever check for a partial blockage?

faint bobcat
#

I mean I did a cold pull on the printer the other day or do u mean in The extruded head itself?

#

I can try to unclog it if something is clogged

calm quest
#

Personally I'd not petg, it's crap, the bottom is a comboof head bed temp, maybe a draft and damp filament, but with petg .... I hate the stuff haven't bought any for at least 5y

faint bobcat
#

Well also Petg is only filament I have as well as flash forges official petg filament that HS(for high speed I guess) but in a different color. I don’t have pls or abs. And I assumed petg is stronger than pla correct

faint bobcat
rocky yarrow
#

I guess retraction values might be too high or you get heatcreep

faint bobcat
#

Is that what that is?

#

Ya so my retraction settings were as follows:
distance is 25mm
Length is 5mm

I assume that’s too high correct?

#

I also thought retraction has to do with how it Oozes or stringing sometimes like less of it u get less stringing no?

rocky yarrow
#

Correct

#

5 to 6 mm is max length.

faint bobcat
#

Btw I have a Bowden tube just fyi

#

Ok so I’m good on the length

#

Nothing to change there

#

I just had to start again the same exact print. Whatever

rocky yarrow
#

You can also check if your type of printer is known to overheat when printing closed. Wouldnt be surprised if thats happening

faint bobcat
#

but i cant print something open csae cuzx its a closde printer

#

is an open case 3d printer better thasn a closed one

rocky yarrow
#

No but you can open the door?

faint bobcat
#

Yes I can on my flashforge 3d printer but I prefer the door closed tbf fyi imo

faint bobcat
#

ok so how do i prevent the blkobs i havbe on my prints besides temps and retraction and speed? do i increase or decresae speed?

rocky yarrow
#

The squish look like beldtension for z axis.

#

So z binding. Have fun unscrewing a felt bolts unless the entsion meschanism is accessable

#

Otherwise it should be able to print with open door or you can carefully carefully test if you can remove the sidepannel

faint bobcat
#

i thin i ogo repalcmetn in2021 or 2022 idk

rocky yarrow
#

Okay. Did you try cleaing the fans and heatsink maybe you have a rats nest

faint bobcat
#

Huh

#

Not yet. Wdym rats nest

#

I don’t feel like it

#

Why would it be a heatsink problem?

rocky yarrow
#

...

#

Are you trolling?

faint bobcat
#

?

#

no

#

i aiun raedingfit

#

@distant umbra one mute please 😄

#

cas829 has been warned, this is their first warning.

faint bobcat
#

Btw the only reason why I put blue tape on my bed in the first place was to cover up these little holes in my bed from the plastic/material

#

See it?

#

They’re not exactly holes more like divets in the plate themselves

faint bobcat
#

btw now my print only works on the first layer
