Been having hold in my prints and decided to run a benchy. I’m thinking this may be due to retraction settings 🤔 idk tbh would love some input.

I run a FL SUN SR

(And the bottom of my benchy seems to indicate that I need to move the z index up a tad)

#

heres a peek at my cura settings :)

Settings look good

#

Did you calibrate your eSteps?

#

The printer seems to be under-extruding

#

Or more probably bad cooling to the nozzle

#

Do you have a cooling duct? Here's a photo of mine for referance

Esteps dont really help on the sr 😄 they can be done latest firmware allows that.

#

@plain solstice do you have the shitty or the good version of the sr? It was sold with 2 different hot ends for some time

#

Oh and the 6.5mm retraction distance are too much

what is a good retraction Distance 🤔

You have to remove the black silicone so i can see the heatblock

Can I just keep this off?

gloomy star
#

No

#

And you have the shitty version

plain solstice

Aw

#

Damn i rhought they are sold out by now

#

The problem is that the nozzle is so far away that you have a significant drop in temperature

#

Oh and flsun og nozzles are crap

#

Your options are a) contact flsun and ask them for the fixed hotend b) install a nicklplated copper nozzle from brozzle c) you can try and fit a nut between the heatblock and the nozzle so you get a bigger meltarea...d) if you have a thin wire you can try wraping it around the nozzle to get the heat that way

@plain solstice

#

Source for that tipps guess who was so stupid and bought a super racer when they came out:D

is this it?

Thr upper one.

#

Or wait aminute

#

Hmm both are not the best

#

My suggestion would be a nickl plated nozzle

#

Yes you can ? Where did i say you cant?

gloomy star
#

The og nozzles from flsun are bad. I tried 5 of them and then said f it and bought a 20 Euro Brozzle and had no issues since then

plain solstice
#

Do you know which one you use now? 🤨

gloomy star
#

Brozzle nickl coated copper and i twisted some wire around it

#

Still requires 230 c for fast printing

#

But it prints

idk if a new heat block is necessary so...

gloomy star
#

It wont hurt ^_^
