So I'm running an ender 5, on the glass bed, recently replaced ptfe for Capricorn tubing and replaced nozzle, calibrated esteps, adjusted flow rate, have printed perfect dimension xyz cal cubes and getting the expected 0.8mm thick wall on the hollow cube. No matter what I try though be it print speed adjustments, retraction dist and speed adjustments, temp, print speed, anything basically I cannot get rid of the stringing. Have tried with combing on and off, zhop on and off as well, tried adding a wipe, literally nothing I try seems to get rid of the stringing. Printing PLA btw

first make sure the tube is definitly all the way down and cut flatt
second is it capricorn xs? then this is likely your issue
It's Deffo cut flatand in rechecked that like 20-30 times now aha, but not sure if it is xs or not will have to check
Just nipped dog out so will check in about 25 mins
could be asleep then but if its the xs its very likley to be the reason for it
since its the one with the extremly tight tolerance
Right I will double check that checking through purchase history to see if it says there now
Damnit it is the xs
@storm veldt thank you for that bud I been working on this for about a week done hundreds of tests now lol
I didn't even realise it was different, what is the difference between it and normal Capricorn?
inner diamenter is .1 mm smaller then the normal one
Capricorn Premium PTFE Bowden Tubes for 3D Printing
Yeah I just been reading up on it, any ideas on how I could work with it? Or am I best off replacing it with standard?
Lucky its cheap like 5 meter 10 bucks here
Is not here lol
2 metres will cost me like 15 pound
In fact I'm struggling to find the tl version only able to find xs at the minute
Might just bite the bullet and get the direct drive upgrade
that would be an upgrade but i think to keep the speeds it would need to be like with an orbiter or so
i mean generic ptfe tube btw
also damn brexit really messed up amazon for you
Yeah it has lol, I been reading and I found an old post on reddit with someone on an ender 2 that had exactly same issues when he switched to xs, he fixed it by drastically reducing retraction so I'm currently printing a tower test starting at 1mm retraction I have a feeling it will be around 2-3mm I see best results all my previous tests started at 3 or 4 as standard for bowden seemed to be around 5
Next step is do a temp tower test running down to 190 as I'm not convinced the manufacturer temps of 205-215 are right as best results I've had so far have been at 200
Also what you mean an orbiter I might be being dim aha
Was thinking of the cheap creality dual gear red aluminum direct drive upgrade as can't really afford the full micro Swiss hotend and direct drive I want yet

🙂 im off now i need sleep
It's 60 for an orbiter extruder on its own or 80 for the standard microswiss direct drive with hotend
Night bud sleep well thanks for the help
For the record I was right best results between 2 and 3mm retraction on the tower going to do another with 0.5mm increments instead of 1mm
Cheers for all the help again never would have found that reddit post if you didn't mention the xs tubing
