#what made this print look like this?
160 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
i just replaced it
might be clogged tho
if it is clogged how would I unclog it? last time when it was clogged I tried sticking the small needle in it while it was hot or something but it wouldnt come off
Do you know what a cold/atomic pull is?
yeah was just about to say
did a cold pull too before, though i never got to finish it because the tube and the nozzle had a gap in between them
might try to do a cold pull again
since its actually working this time
you think the lines are also because it might be possibly clogged?
or is that retraction speed
yeah it might be moist, it was sitting out for a few weeks i think.
210c & retraction speed is 55mms
Distance ? Printer type
ender 3 v2, whats distance?
There’s retraction speed and then retraction distance
That sounds like it may be a little fast but the problem wouldn’t be that extreme
even though i couldnt pull out the bowen tube which is a problem for another time, I tried doing a cold pull with it in and didnt really get anything, and so i think it is because of how moist the filament is
its been out for a while anyways
tried using another filament that has been sitting in a box for a while, but that ended up the same, a bit broken down and crumply. if it isn't moisture, then it has to be the nozzle or something?
i mean when I manually extract it, it comes out fine
To test if it’s retractions print a cylinder in vase mode
okay ill do this then
👍
make is bigger like alot bigger
How do I print in vase mode? Is it from the file or a setting in Prusa Slicer?
how it kinda ended up
your issue has nothing to do with retractions then as vase mode has none
so what would it be possibly
don’t think it’s moist
but
it would be either the filament or the nozzle then?
That or your extruded is acting up and skipping
Did you change anything on the printer or slicer between when it was working and now
apologies had to leave
erm no i did not
check for extruder skipping or slipping
tell the printer to extrude with a hot nozzle and kinda pinch the fillament between ur hotdog grippers to see if its pulling
i dont think so, i dont feel anything abnormal but also when looking and feeling the actual extruder i dont see any skipping
came out like this
I think your extruder is on the way out
oh really?
i got this printer a couple of months ago
what causes damage to the extruder then?
its a crappy design from the factory
ah okay, so you just recommend I get a whole new extruder?
@formal karma sorry question, would it be the physical extruder, or the screw that controls the filament? i mean i already ordered a new extruder but trying to figure out what part of it made it bad
@rotund forge you filament is wet.
Wrong.
It is wet filament
I had the exact same issue.
It will cause under extrusion and hella stringing.
Wait nvm I just read above,,.
@rotund forge is your Bowden tube clogged?
no i’m pretty sure it’s fine, doesn’t seem clogged
sorry for late response
ah really that’s just wet filament?
i mean i wouldn’t be surprised if it was, it’s been sitting out for weeks
it visually doesn’t look clogged and i can easily put in filament without feeeling anything abnormal, so shouldn’t be
Hmm.
Do you have the ender 3?
mhm v2
Ah nice.
is it an extruder issue?
Most likely.
i mean i can go and buy some more filament tomorrow and see if it is because of the filament
won’t be able to return it tho lol
i’ll keep it
Would you really complain about some filament??
nope not at all
the more the merrier
alright i’ll come back here tomorrow and see if it is the filament or not
Could you send a image of your extruder?
sure give me a few
Does that silver wheel spin?
yep
Does the golden wheel look worn down at all?
eh no it doesn’t
quite new too, few months
it is around the extruder, but not inside
really that screw?
that screw holds the spring in place i believe
don’t think it has anything to do with the exyruder
extruder*
It adjust the tightness with the extruder
oh really
Yes
hm okay let me do it then
After that I want to you try to print the cylinder again and I’ll check on it when I wake up,
You to. (If it’s night for you)
i think i found the issue
it’s not even extruding it
or when it is it’s very inconsistent
Try to tighten the bolt then.
I forgot if it was loosen or tighten.
uh no i don’t think so
doesn’t look like it
Can you pull on the filament and see if it’s hard to pull?
nope, seems easy to me
and extruder screws are turning now so let’s see how it goes
Good!!
How long does that print take?
believe it’s like 35 minutes, i’ll give you an update in like 5 minutes because usually by then you can tell how it’s going to end up, then you can go sleep hah
Alright.
so ending up the same way
i noticed the base layer it made was smooth with no problem but when it started going up that’s when it just gave up
Okay hold on..
maybe this old print might give an idea
Okay well I have to head to bed but I would like to hop in a voice chat with your tmrw to talk about this and try and see what’s going on. So if you don’t mind me asking what is your timezone?
est, so its almost 2 for me
appreciate you trying to help
Same here.
may not be free until tomorrow night though, i’ll let you know if that’s fine
All good just lemme know a time your free.
thanks for all this, will message you later then
Okay.
hey, can I call you in a few minutes?
new filament, no difference
Give me like 10-30 minutes.
alr lmk when you can
I can now.
@tired coral got a new extruder, no difference. i mean besides the first layer being better nothing changed
just starts going up and very inconsistent layers
Idk man..
What extruder did you get

What is it set to
