As you can see, it got hella misaligned, apologies for the informalities, this is just fairly shocking to me. The printer also tends to run into the prints while going up, how do I fix these issues?

pla i guess ?

#

check if the autobed level is truely on in your slicer and an check the belt tension

#

otherwise give the bed a clean with water and soap. ipa is not good enough all the time

weary willow
#

whats belt tension?

#

sorry im kinda new to all this lol

hushed panther
#

okay

#

the printhead ( the part with the hotend) is moved by belts like the heatbed.

#

you can see them left and right on your print head

#

do you print at a low layerheight? ( below .2 mm)

weary willow
#

is that something i can change in the slicer?

weary willow
hushed panther
#

nope

#

hard ware

#

youzr printer even has turning knobs on the front and one on the right side of the x axis

weary willow
#

like z axis?

#

ohh

#

this thing?

hushed panther
#

tze x axis is powerd by a lead screw 🙂

weary willow
#

what about them?

hushed panther
#

...

#

if they are too loose it can cause skips or shifts like you have

weary willow
#

ohhh i see

#

so whats the recommended tightness?

#

is there specifics or just make them tight

hushed panther
#

you tighten till it stops

#

no not really

#

it always depens on the printer

weary willow
#

oh alright

hushed panther
#

they also wear over time

#

but also can get loose in transport

#

so they are often the cause

weary willow
#

they are very loose, that explains things lol

#

thank you

#

also, is there a way to fix the printer from running into prints?

#

i hear and see it collide often

hushed panther
#

thats hopefully ficed with belttension otherwise it depends if it is due warping aka your print lifts up or the x axis beeing tilted

weary willow
#

alright thanks, ill see if it works now

weary willow
hushed panther
#

from what i see too far away from the bed

weary willow
#

it wont go any higher...

#

nvm i got it a bit higher

hushed panther
#

you have an s1

weary willow
#

ill try the print again... thanks tho

hushed panther
#

do you know what z offset is?

weary willow
#

yeah

hushed panther
#

Lower that

#

Also are you sure your auto bed level is turned on in your slicer?

weary willow
#

i can check

#

where is the setting?

hushed panther
#

Video about that is in my profile

weary willow
#

alright thanks

#

my start gcode doesnt look exactly the same, should i just put it after the 28?

#

it looks like that worked, its doing the bed level thing

#

however how does it work?

#

it cant move the bed can it?

#

or does the nozzle move up and down accordingly?

hushed panther
#

the later yes

#

your printer creates a surface map of your printbed

#

and the moves the nozzle up and down a little

#

btw be read to stop your printer not that now leveling is on your nozzle doesnot scrach the bed

weary willow
#

alright thanks

#

what happens if it gets scratched?

#

can/should you replace it, and can you remove just the top bed?

nova lintel
#

you dont need to replace it, but you can if you don't like the look or its really messed up

weary willow
#

alright thanks

#

it doesnt look like it was comepletely filled in, these are just the supports but will this continue to happen?

hushed panther
#

that looks strange and might be a slicer setting or model issue

weary willow
#

hm alright

hushed panther
#

weary willow
#

gotcha, give me a bit

weary willow
#

my failed print seems to have adhered too well...

weary willow
#

i really messed up my bed...

hushed panther
#

hmm onlything i can see is that you use gyroid infill that can cause a lot of vibrations maybe its that
