I'm new to 3D printing and could use some feedback on how to improve my print. The smokestack also has a large seam on it as well.

you can find the solution tosimple things like that whit a few google search on the internet

#

if you care about your time i recommand you to search instread of asking sometimes it make you gain a lot of time :)

#

its a friendly reminder

#

but anyway you have multiple types of problem whit your benchy here

#
  1. your first layer seems missconfigured your nozle seems too far form the bed you will get a bad first layer and addesion
#
  1. you seems to have a little bit of under-extrusion
#
  1. you seems to have a little bit of stringing its a problen that can come from many things, retractiom, nozzle presion, temp, etc..
#

i dont really see the front of your benchy

#
  1. but you might have a cooling problem / temperature problem
#

it would be nice to have more detail

#

printer, settings etc..

#

3D printing is pretty difficult at the start you need to know a lot of things x)

#

good luck !

The printer is an ender 3 V2. I'll get a photo of the front when I get home. I really do appreciate your time. I have been googling but I've not been very successful because I'm not entirely sure what to look for to diagnose the problem or the correct terminology if that makes sense. I can figure out how to fix it on my own I just didnt know what the problem is. Again thank you for your time.

#

I'll get some screenshots of my settings as well

Also of note I have the CR touch installed but I might not have the z offset set correctly. I'll work on that. I also have silicone bed spacers installed and I've ordered the metal struder upgrade to replace the plastic one. I'm also looking into upgrading my cooling fan

Ok

#

It seems we have different time zones

#

I will not be able to help too mutch I’m not really available

#

But what I would advise you to do is :
Check your printer physical limitations ; by that I mean look at someone that get the best print possible out of this printer to know it’s limits and if it’s really possible to improve on things or if the problem you have is a common problem etc because sometimes it’s not only software and settings

#

Once you checked the limitation of it and are sure you can improve your print ( be sure that the printer your comparing too is not modded whit a better firmaware or mods like driver etc it needs to be the same as you or be like yours)

#

Find what is going wrong sometimes it’s the most difficult part

#

Search on google things like

« Common 3D printing problem » etc etc

#

Remember too that settings and printer are not all the time the problem

#

It can come from bad quality filament

#

Or vibration because of where the printer is put on

#

Or room temperature and humidity

#

And many other factor

#

So be carful whit that

#

But for me your main problem of the filament that fell of is like it does not cool enough

#

So it can be bad filament

#

Bad Colling

#

Or bad extruder temps

#

But another time it can come from many other things.

#

Your slicers too

#

Personally I use cura it have always been good :)

#

And premium filament
